The enjoyment I get from removing the wax packaging from a lil cheese wheel is immediately aligned with entertainment zoo animals get when they have to solve a puzzle or get into a box to find a treat. I’m just an ape and the babybel cheese people are my enrichment team
I think about this post a lot. I talk about it a lot. It’s to the point where, at work when we don’t like someone, we go, “that person is NOT on my enrichment team” because apparently the biggest insult, we think, is that that person is not successfully zooing us.
this is incredible thank you for telling me
why when able bodied fans draw canonically disabled chair-user characters do they have the abled partner sitting on their lap? i would kill someone if they touched my cane or sat on me in my chair
THIS SHIT IS INFINITELY MORE ROMANTIC THAN SITTING ON TOP OF YOUR DISABLED PARTNER. THE TENDERNESS INVOLVED IN HOLDING YOUR PARTNERS HAND, IN BEING CONSIDERATE OF THEIR SPACE, IN MAKING SURE THEY FEEL SAFE AND LOVED. i’m not going to go as far as saying stop having able bodied people sit on top of their disabled partners but know i’m disabled and would never consider it. i would absolutely get hurt
i hold the same viewpoint on able bodied partners carrying their disabled partner for no reason. my body is a fragile thing, easily broken. it has to be protected even from people with the best intentions. meet me at my level instead of taking me to yours
abled allies can and should reblog this
how i be feeling today
straight up family vloggers/bloggers shouldnt be allowed to be a thing
at all
ever
there should be laws against it
it has literally never been anything but traumatizing to the children involved, it will always, by its very nature, incentivize seeing your children not as people but as avenues for monetization, it will lead you to harmful behaviors and lead you to say untrue things about your children because it generates clicks and ad revenue
it is child abuse, even if you never hit your children, it is horrible, and i wish all those kids that were exploited like that could be with families that actually cared for them, i wish their parents saw them and treated them like they should
children are not fucking products, they are not hooks to get more views, every family vlogger is a fucking monster
“I don’t think that I accepted that I wasn’t gonna die young until I was 26 or 27. I really don’t think I fully…when I was 14, 15, 16, 17–I mean I knew as sure as I know that I am wearing green shoes that I was going to die before much happened. It was a certainty for me. And I had shaken off the directly suicidal urge by the time I was 21 or 22, but I still was pretty sure I was going to die pretty young, it really felt like an inevitability. It takes a long time to realize no, you’ve changed…if you shared those feelings with people at some point you go, ‘well, I guess we’re going to stick around.’ And it’s a funky thing to admit because there’s a part of your inner younger self that kind of judges you for that.”
John Darnielle fucking me up with the single most relatable thing he’s ever said
sometimes people don’t understand what i mean when i say “gay culture” and i usually explain it by telling the story of how once i told one of my best friends i liked him and he straight up looked me in the eye and was like “no you don’t. we’re both gay. what you’re feeling is safety with the one guy you know who will never make you uncomfortable.” and i had this holy shit moment where i realized he was right and then he set me up with his beard
anyone else live under the assumption that they’re constantly doing something wrong
How about the assumption that everyone’s just being polite and any minute now they’re going to snap and let you know how awful you are
Everyone who reblogs this post, please read about the psychological phenomena of Childhood Emotional Neglect.
It can happen to teens, young adults, and full-on adults as well, if they are trapped in abusive, toxic, or otherwise unsupportive environments.

to all my black friends, mutuals and followers on here:
everyone else on fb and instagram: hi guys just turned in my final thesis here is a look at the cover page 🥰🥰 hard work but worth it
me emailing my professor my finished draft:
[id: “As is, this thesis is more Frankenstein’s monster (a sewed up version of drafts that died along the way) than finished product but in keeping with the metaphor: I needed to get it out of my house before it succeeded in trying to kill me.”]
