funniest thing to ever happen was when my boyfriend put on the first episode of columbo (which i'd never seen) but he wouldn't tell me what show it was he would only say "you'll get it when he shows up." but a fun fact about the first episode of columbo is that he doesn't show up for 32 minutes and when he does, he silently walks into the room with a cigar and does a little pose and goes "hi i'm columbo."

Oh and I don't intend to start dumping a load of TotK salt here, I had my salt moment hyperbole a few days ago, the important bit is that it was a major part of making me sit bolt upright in bed going "I have to draw LoZ scenes right fucking now because my passion got re-ignited by the rant spark." Silver linings!

Also as someone who loves another game franchise I still have some salt moments over, really, it's just to let off steam for a property I generally have a lot of love for. Ex: here's looking at you, Elder Scrolls, you functional video games you 💜 I would take a bullet for you

Demon Physiology // Demon Tribes AU Supplemental Lore

Here is information about aging, death, and re-animation in this AU.

All tribes are extremely long-lived compared to humans, but there is some variance between them. From highest average lifespan to shortest: Gerra have been known to live to around 1000 years; followed by Igo, Twili, and Massu; whereas Boko can live to about 500 years. Childhood and adolescence stages are remarkably similar to humans, but demon senescence suddenly ceases in their 30s or 40s, which may elongate their lifespan for centuries until the process resumes rapidly. There is no obvious or discrete outward sign of this change, they simply stop aging.

There is a somewhat common mutation where this cessation does not occur properly, and those demons can only live as long as a human. Unfortunately, this mutation can come as a stressful surprise as there are currently no reliable ways of predicting it. The period nearing middle aged life can be a difficult time for demons as a result.

When a demon dies, their body rapidly deteriorates into ashes due to their unstable physical and spiritual presence. Demon funerals are thus cremation rituals - remains are stored in beautiful urns and pots with the deceased's belongings, such as rupees. These may be kept close to family households, but unknown demon remains are kept in temples or on sacred grounds.

Through the power of Malice, demons have found that the dead have the potential to be re-formed. However, it is a complicated process with both a high cost and a high rate of failure. The dead may not easily return with mind and body intact, and many sacrifices can be wasted on unideal results. Re-animation is rarely used in Ikanan society for these reasons.

When Ghirahim bound himself to Demise's sword, he was blessed with Malice powerful enough to re-animate demons. He used this to raise Demise's army in preparation for the King's return. Expectedly, this ability was far beyond Ghirahim's experience (though he would never admit to it), and his many failures can be found hidden away in the Ancient Cistern Basement.

My frustration with TotK woke me up, have a WIP. This Boko is not a named OC, he just happened upon Kilton in a cave and was like "you're picking the wrong mushrooms, halfkin" and Kilton was prob like "huh??? ohhh ty I would've died ✨"

I'll include more polished words about this in the final but for now uhhh. Kilton half-monster, send post.
