some days it's good to be super - some days it's good to have a light saber for back up.
i was not totally happy with my original design (above) which was from 2021 and a limp imitation of a larsen werk from the early 90s. my pen just isn't as versed and the digital colour was my only salvation. the 2nd design (below) feels much more confidently rendered. it is harkening back to the cel-animated days of the 1970s. i think my werk is much stronger when it is understated.
... also you can find this new design on my teepublic page. i know i am gonna grab one! (sales to oneself DO count as sales, lol).

sadly i started this piece prior to the release of ep 18. otherwise this would have looked a tad different on the goku side. alas, i was trying to get a quick scribble off of my tablet.
figured i should finally get around to finalising and posting this latest attempt at scribbling. i was definitely going for a parody poster here but i dunno if it reads through. it's all 80s filmation at the end of the day for this evil robot clone, tho, so it's all good. #nohashtags cuz apparently zoomers killed hash tags.
as it turns out, i didn't destroy my drawing tablet in a grief-stricken rage. was not 100% happy with the original design of this fan art from a few years back so i had to redraw it. here is caulifla and kale posing just for the heck of it.
back on my bullsh*t. got quite a few irons in the fire but the only thing i can eek out on my drawing pad is another 'safe' design idea. dunno if it is my growing disappointment in the lack of db media or the disappointment my feeble scribbling progress.
hopefully the dragon room actually gets into gear sooner rather than later or i grow up a bit and find inspiration on other roads.
and all the while i earnestly consider hanging up the drawing pad and just sit back and ingest all the wonderous stuff that is pumped out hourly by makers who are far hungrier than i am these days.
just thinkin' out loud, i guess.
laters, all.

this was much more lewd when i conceptualised it. but as usual, my over-thinking of the design rendered this finished piece a rather tame character study. still fudging thru likenesses but there are elements that werk and a lot that don't. o welp, you win some and you lose some.
with a pow wow plate full of trepidation we're all approaching our feelings around the final season of this nugget of gold on fx. three seasons was not nearly enough to get to know all of these characters. it'd be easy to be cynical but there is the inkling of a promise that the creative team and players behind this show just might have something just as raucous up their sleeves and will release it unto the world in a year or three.
we will miss you, cheese.
Way back in the day in an alternate universe far, far away a hapless native scrub was bitten by a radioactive spider that floated in on the breeze from the Hanford nuclear reservation.
As he was not upwardly mobile and couldn't thwip all the way to New York city from his nameless rez town located somewhere in the inland northwest, spider-jay missed the entirety of events in across the spider-verse. And without a bus ticket or a prayer, he will also likely ride the bench for beyond the spider-verse. But such is the life of an indigenous uncle with too little power and questionable intentions.
super kryptonian art dump. dunno if i’ve posted these before, but the top image of kal-el’s solar suit is rather new. second image is one of my favourite versions of supes: lothario superman from the 80s film. and last but definitely not least the latest iteration of supergirl that will hit in the dc film.
#wip of my latest scribble. digging the brotherly vibe. even tho this has a decent 4-step colour scheme, i was thinking of adding a typrography graphic and maybe even re-skin these with multiple outfits representing their looks over the decades.
*update 2: in second image, we see james and john in their fox-verse variant looks. a bit cheesy, with their indigeneity in question, but still kinda dope looking.
*update 3: in the third image, i wanted to depict a comic/animated version of the brothers. where to go next?
*update 4: and last but not least, we see what a pair of apache bros would possibly maybe look like if they stepped onto an mcu set.
another dargon bol art dump from the past few years. some of these are kinda cool. always be werkin’ on your craft.
from time to time i indulge in redraws from past werk and this was originally posted way back in 2016. how time flies when you’re spinnin your wheels. guess i *am* learning a thing or two about staging characters and laying off the pen pressure a bit. overall i’m happy to say there is growth here. still have to sort out my colour theory or at the very least dial up my display monitor because i swear there is some noticeable oomph taken out of the final export.
have a great weekend, all.
it was a rough year last year for batman tas fans. mr conroy was the best there ever was at bringing life to the caped crusader. i know it was a big part of my youth and adolescence and later on, my adulthood with many reprisals of the role in later films, television, and games. a life and body of werk worth celebrating.
some old school 80s scribbles featuring the marshal of new texas, bravestarr and ally thirty thirty. they are flanked by the villain, tex hex.
don’t mind me, i’m just diggin’ into the ol’ bag of dargon bol fanart. these are the most recent scribbles, from top to bottom: dragon ball r’n’r cast, piccolo and pan, and kale & caulifla striking a pose.
wanted to get this out a few months back but hit the brick wall that is artists block heading into x-mas and this went to the backburner. but now here it is in all its tardiness. hope y’all can dig it.
