So I realized I never posted this here on tumblr lmao, but behold, the latest commission of my OC Vaknosh Blackwolf by the forever amazing @karniz​.

This is actually based on the transmog I use on EpsilonWoW for an alternate universe WoW worldbuilding/story I’ve been off and on working on since around 2016, before I was even on Epsilon.

I just love the Kor’kron, what can I say? They’ve been my favorite orc-related subfaction since I seriously got into Horde RP in Wrath, they were the theme of my previous guild Kor’kron Legion, and despite being hit with the evil bat in Mists, you can’t deny how cool the aesthetic was.

Honestly, my favorite part of this piece though is the axe. The Blackrock Clan symbol looks absolutely sick on that skull.

since this is going around again i want to clarify that this post is about cancel culture. more specifically the type of cancel culture that results in long callout posts and mass harassment and doxxing of random internet users that up until an hour ago believed you were their friend. nobody is perfect all the time. nobody is secretly evil and just waiting to show their true colors. you look at someone who has had a rough day and said something slightly misguided out of frustration and instead of reaching out it’s abandon ship immediately and anyone who doesn’t is going on a blocklist. what the hell are we doing here.

there are people in the notes asking “ok yes but how do i stop it” good news! it’s actually easier to stop than it is to perpetrate. the method is called “talk to your friends if they say something that surprises you” and “don’t participate in mass cyberbullying”. we are creating a subculture that cares more about appearing righteous than they care about learning and growing as people

this isn't a problem that's exclusive to or originated from gen z. I've been dealing with one of these harassment campaigns for a year and a half now (secondhand) and it's being perpetuated by millennials. and the obsession with supposed moral purity that motivates this behavior is a cultural force that's been around for a long long time. framing the issue as being unique to young people, or unique to leftists (as is also sometimes assumed), misunderstands the larger societal forces that encourage harassment, punishment, and fear over communication or understanding.

also generational divides are largely a myth. people of all ages are capable of doing good or causing harm, and no generation is uniquely predisposed in either direction.
