Persephone hanging out with the puppies at night.
(Cw // suggestive, sex toys)
Percy, texting on random tuesday: you know what I'M TIRED you owe me Castellan.
Luke, taking his phone in between handling 4973673256 army leader chores: ????? What exactly did I do this time ?????
Percy: it is a THIRD time my vibrator dies a gruesome death and IT IS ALL BECAUSE OF YOU.
Luke, blushing bloody-red, doing his best not to imagine the implications right now: I'm very sorry about your loss?..
Percy: YOUR SORRYS WON'T GET ME OFF DARLING GO DRAG YOUR SORRY ASS TO NEW YORK.
actually im not done bitching about the ‘but did you watch jaws’ scene though this is more petty than when i last talked about it (which was in reference to percy being an asshole)
percy 'goes out of his way to help sea creatures when they call for him in the middle of the night’ jackson would fucking hate jaws. he would hate it so much.
you know how the maker of jaws says he hates the movie and regrets making it? yeah percy gets that too.
not only because its a completely inaccurate depiction of what sharks are actually like, but because of the straight up damage and harm thats been done to sharks because of it!
making percy, the son of poseidon, a jaws fan tells me a few things. that you see ‘being a child of the sea god’ as a personality trait, where its ‘of course percy would like [instert water related thing here] hes the son of poseidon!’ without any actual regard for who he is as a character. its seeing the most obvious and blatant choice and going with it with a full disregard of who youre writing
percy would not like jaws because hes a son of poseidon, he would hate jaws because hes a son of poseidon.
It's insane how the show tries to potray Émilie as a good mother
show percy literally does not earn anything i said what i said. everything he knows about greek mythology, sally fed to him as opposed to him learning on the go. each of the kind acts he performs, it’s because he remembers something his mom told him rather than because he identifies with being abused and marginalized SINCE HE DOESNT FUCKING EXPERIENCE THAT ONSCREEN. from the get-go, percy kills alecto without having to move a fucking muscle. instead of struggling through the grief annabeth experiences in her sirens’ vision, he’s simply just too fucking cool and Boyfriend to see anything else other than annabeth. the show having no stakes doesnt just mean no tension in the story, it also means no gratifying payoff when something comes to pass. how am i supposed to feel roused by percy rallying the camp for battle in the s2 finale when we’ve never seen him have any fleshed out interactions with the camp as a setting and as a population save for an obligatory one-minute montage. which is also why they NEED TO BE CASTING SIDE CHARACTERS.
the particular thing about pjotv percy that really grinds my gears is how he’s written as extremely selfish in an attempt at riding the “morally grey-would burn down the world for you-the villain has a point” trend that has become a shortcut to story complexity (when in fact dubious morality in itself is not interesting; for a subverted example, look to baelor breakspear from akotsk). and the way thalia is written around that specific decisions is really the nail in the coffin. percy snarking “she met a pinecone’s fate” instead of admiring thalia’s heroism like he does in the book (even if it does come back to percy comparing himself, because both sides can exist Because Nuance); thalia shirking power and her father the get-go because god forbid a girl despise the system her father has created and yet seek his approval; percy and thalia having A Staredown over annabeth because obviously annabeth’s attention is a zero-sum game and the consequences of their decisions dont have a larger in-world impact because the world doesnt fucking exist in the tv show other than providing physical locations for the characters to be in. percy wrangles with his fatal flaw of personal loyalty, yes, but the show misses out on how incredibly kind he is, which is crucial as the groundwork for why he makes the decisions he does. why does he spare bessie the ophiotaurus when killing bessie would guarantee one less pawn for kronos to manipulate? why does he take the prophecy for nico? why does he not abuse the naiads along geryon’s beach to speedrun the shit shoveling? why does he not stay on ogygia? why does he give luke the dagger? why does he turn down immortality and forward demigods’ welfare instead? a percy who takes the lightning bolt quest because he already knows his mom is alive in the underworld, who took in tyson because Sally Said So, and is given all these other miniscule decisions that the writers think don’t matter but they fucking do, does not have that groundwork
Paris's Favorite Stray
You know, I've seen a lot of AU ideas where Adrien runs away from Gabriel and is more or less homeless on the streets of paris, and while those are an interesting perspective to explore and an excellent story to tell, they always seem to focus on how miserable and starving and out of his depth Adrien is. Like, running away is always described so bad that it really feels like he might have been better off living with his abusive father.
And I get why, an average kid in the real world would definitely not be having a good time. But Adrein Agreste isn't a regular kid, he's got superpowers. Sure, he needs to be in the suit for those, but the suit only has a time limit when he uses Cataclysm, as far as I'm aware he is completley fine to just run around as Cat Noir as much as he wants otherwise.
In my head, it makes sense that Adrien, being locked up and cooped up his whole life, upon being given this insane power, immediatly realizes he can use it to escape his dad. not temporarily, but forever. With Plaggs help, he can weave through the manors security. He can break out without even being seen. He can escape not just to go to school, but escape completely and totally. Afterall, what can a fashion designer do to stop a superhero?
And despite a lot of fanfiction that makes it so that they don't get nutrients when eating in their transformed state, there really isn't anything in cannon about that. And the citizens of Paris definitely wouldn't mind feeding their hero. In fact, if anything, I like to imagine that Paris rather fondly refers to the hero that seems to be nearly constantly on patrol as "Paris's Favorite Stray" or just "Our Stray Cat".
So thats food covered, and as for shelter, well, despite it not really being legal, there are loads of people who practically, and sometimes actually, live in the catacoms under paris. All he needs is to scout out sleeping spots beforehand in supermode, and I doubt he'd have much trouble.
The last thing though, is that realistically, no one can live alone. Being isolated would wear down on him fast. Especially because I imagine the main reason he ran away to begin with is because his dad wouldn't let him go to school, so again being isolated wouldn't be any better.
But the thing is, Adrien would only have run away because he knew that with Plagg, his dad can't stop him. So...realistically...who can stop him from going to school? He's already enrolled. At least until his dad reports him missing, and who knows how long that will take, he can enjoy the regular life he wants.
Cue what I consider the bread and butter of this AU idea: Adrien detransforms to go to school and makes all the usual friends and things, only he is WAY more free and happy, and at the end of every school day he gets out of the school building faster than anyone thought possible, in case his dad sends someone to stake out the school.
How does Adrien keep going to school if he's a runaway and reported missing? Simple: The Gabriel brand cannot afford the scandal, or the child protections investigation, that would come from reporting Adrien missing. And Adrien KNOWS that. So so long as he shows up for any photoshoot he knows his father isn't trying to use to ambush him, or escapes every time he's ambushed, then he's fine. And with the Cat Miraculous as a secret weapon, there isn't a lot Gabe can do. He can't even risk using Akumas to hunt his son down, lest others realize Adrien is gone.
Adriens friends at school know that Adriens homelife is weird. They were able to throw him a party, but not allowed to do it at his house, and Adrien insists no one ever talk to his dad. And he can be a little squirly on occassion, but no one guesses that he's essentially homeless for a long time. In the end, I can't decide if it should be Nino who Adrien basically shows his place in the catacombs too, or if Marinette realizes it via her "friendly stalking" of him.
Cat Noir though, is an even funnier part of this story, because there is NO beating the allegations that he's homeless. He is literally Paris's favorite stray. Chat is essentially constantly on patrol, so Paris gets to know their cat in a way that they just don't see ladybug. They still see Ladybug as the heroes leader and as Paris's savior and all that, they hold her in a LOT of awe. But with Chat, it's more casual. They see Chat everyday. He stops more muggers of old ladies than the cops and rescues more stuck pets than animal control or the fire department combined. It's not uncommon for especially busy parents to call out to Chat as he jumps between rooftops to ask him to pop in and watch their kids for a moment while they run an errand. Or for Chat to help a worker or deliveryman with a particulalrly heavy load if he happens to spot them struggling.
Ladybug is still the hero who purifies the akumas and makes everything perfect again, she's still Paris's savior. But Chat Noir is the cities lovable lifeblood, he fights akumas beside his lady, sure, but he also fights them by seemingly ALWAYS being available for a citizen to vent to, or to step in to stop a child being bullied and imaprt some lessons onto the children doing the bullying that they'll carry their whole lives.
Ladybug, of course, worries about her kitty. She's terrified she'll wake up one day and have a new Cat Noir just because her boy died of the cold shivering under a bridge, or wasted away without food. Boxes of pastries and other foods are often foisted upon him. And she never complains when Chat accepts food from resteraunts and vendors, because all she can think is that this is probably the first meal he's had all day.
Adrien, for his part, finds that the people of Paris, total strangers, make a better family than his father and that empty house. Andre the icecream man always insists he stop by for a scoop whenever he passes, and gives him love advice like a doting uncle or grandpa, sometimes about Ladybug, sometimes about what to do when/if he ever moves on.
The old ladies at the fabric shop on his morning patrol before school always pile him high with new scarves and hats and mitten whenever the weather turns cold, with stern faces and insistence that he better come take a catnap in the store if it gets too cold out there, leaving a window on the fifth story unlocked just for him, though he tries to never use it.
There is a cafe near the end of midnight patrols that always keeps a bag of baked goods and a massive cup of coffee waiting for him, and he always gives the manager the biggest hug he can in thanks. She always tousels his hair and frets, she's got boys his age she says, and she worries for his sleep during the school year with all his patrolling.
The italian place near his favorite hidden entrance to the catacombs always keeps a dish of some delicious meal or other warming for him, and the staff is always excited to see him, on their breaks, as he consumes plate after plate of pasta dishes, they ask him about his day and tease him about the details he feels he's allowed to share about school. They all silently catalogue every mention or lack thereof about his home life, and swear many a blood oath against the clearly abusive shitstain this poor hero seems to have fled from, though they know nothing that could help them narrow down who the bastard actually is.
Just.... an Adrien whose home is the city of Paris, who finds joy in helping others, and who gets back as much as he gives. Kinda like a reverse cryptid almost. Strange yes, mysterious even. But unknown or not understood? No, no they know the boy just fine, and they wouldn't trade him for the world.
Seeing as he still does modelling and goes to photoshoots, I'd wager Gabriel still pays him. Maybe he thought of blocking the card the moment he left, but Nathalie saw what charges were made with it (5 euros for a taxi here, 10 for snacks there, occasionall 20 in a supermarket). Next she looked Gabriel straight in the eye, typed a number in the phone and asked:
"Do you know who this number belongs to, sir?"
"No? Why would I know that?"
"It's for Children Protection Services whom I will call if you cancel that card. It's obvious he wasn't kidnapped, so leaving him with no funds would mean throwing him under the car."
"... Makes sense."
Adrien is also not a fool, so before leaving he drained like five credit cards he quietly swiped from his dad and then invested it somewhere. He had tutors for everything, so I bet he was prepared to take the mantle of CEO one day. Successful investments are like the basis of it so he bought some stocks and could happily live the rest of his life on dividends.
Plus he's not really homeless as he is living alone in an unusual environment. Maybe instead of catacombs he occupied some abandoned building near industrial area and turned a flat into a comfy loft cave. When he invited Nino over, he expected the building he saw to collapse on them, but inside is an apartment you'd expect a rich guy to live.
Everything is clean AF, door has a security system, the roomba is sweeping the floor and they chill on the PS5, which is why his friends didn't sound the alarm that he is homeless.
Sure, he still steals power from the factory by sticking a "Don't turn off! Important!" sign on a cord, and he has to make sure no one sees inside the apartment lest the cops are called to check.
Good thing there's a ton of pipes and alleys to go out unseen, both as Adrien and as Chat Noir.
Maybe all the furniture is picked up from those who wanted to get rid of it. I know by myself that you could get almost brand new stuff like desks and couches for free as long as you carry it out yourself. With his super strength it shouldn't be a problem for him to carry a whole ass fridge on his pole like in this picture:

PROJECTION 😁😁😁😁 percy being inadvertently cursed on his mom’s side too because she had him so young when she wasn’t ready to have a baby or be a mother and nothing in her life was stable so nothing in his life was stable either and he grew up struggling not because he was a demigod son of poseidon but because he was her son. she can’t blame the fates or poseidon for it as it’s her lack of a job, her lack of a support system, her childish and immature choices as a woman whose brain isn’t even fully developed yet that shaped the world around him. he’s a baby, a toddler, a small child and he’s relying on her, she is his whole world, and his world is a mess because she’s an overgrown child with nothing to do to show for it.
something about being set up for failure from the beginning resulting in constant and consistent failure indefinitely. percy fighting against the curse of being a forbidden child and the prophecy to live past 16 while also fighting the curse from his mortal life to make something of himself and be someone worthy of recognition, love, respect, humanity. his teachers writing him off on first glance and believing he’ll never make anything of himself so they never teach him anything, they never extend him that grace or patience. percy fighting against a prophecy of the divine world and a self fulfilling prophecy of the mortal world that both spell out his demise and failure.
older sally five glasses of wine in sitting with older percy and apologizing for being such a horrible mother and not being what he needed, not giving him what he needed, not having her shit in order before having him, not giving him the life he deserved. older percy watching estelle have the life sally wanted to give him with stability and money and love and patience. estelle being set up for success from the start and her flourishing and blossoming into it with ease as her teachers are there to guide her through it and teach her in ways they never taught him.
Percy: so you started a war (which I hate) and made me go on a couple of life-threatening quests (that I hated) and you aim to resurrect the titans (who I hate) and every part of it threatens the lifes of my friends and mine and safety of my home (and I hate you for it) — but I still somehow love and miss you despite everything. Can we make out?
Luke:
Luke: sure, sweetheart.
*They make out agressively*
The Lightning Thief:
Hades, upset: I want to be respected! I want my family to acknowledge me!
Percy: Hello, Lord and Uncle.
...
Hades: I don't want a war!
Percy: Neither do I! I'm working on mitigating this one.
...
Hades: I want my helm back!
Percy: *fights Ares to get the helm*
Percy: *immediately gives the helm to Mrs. Dodds, Hades's right hand Fury*
Percy: Make sure Hades gets this.
...
Hades, holding his helm:
Mrs. Dodds:
Hades: Let me get this straight.
Hades: This 12 year old spawn of Poseidon fought my irritating nephew Ares with only a month of training
Hades: and while Ares isn't nearly as powerful as me or my brothers, he still has substantial power and battle prowess
Hades: but Perseus somehow managed to win
Hades: and upon getting my helm he immediately gave it to you and insisted that you deliver it to me right away?
Mrs. Dodds: Yep. I'm still wrapping my head around it too, my lord.
Hades: huh
Hades:
Mrs. Dodds:
Hades:
Hades: nononono dammit I will not like that irriating son of my 2nd most irritating brother nononono I need to purge these feelings of being impressed and *gags* fondness from within myself
Rereading pjo, and I feel like pjo!Nico would've beaten Will up for talking to him like he did in Blood of Olympus💅
I honestly forgot that mount olympus is like above new york
Imagine Percy coming down already traumatized from seeing Ethan fall only to see his mangled body on the ground on his walk home. Now every time he wants to go to somewhere he has to see the place he hit the ground. For a few weeks it wasn’t cleaned properly so his blood was dried onto the pavement and Percy had to see that too. And Sally wondered why her son never left the house anymore.
potentially my favorite thing about percy's and ethan's relationship is that its quite literally left 90% up to interpretation. it starts with percy wasting crucial time he could be using to save camp to save ethan's life in book 4 and helping ethan escape the titan's arena. we get no explanation for why he does this by the way, they met literally five minutes ago. ethan quickly proceeds to assert his position as the Morally Gray Character by thanking Percy, saying IOU, and ditching to help the titan army resurrect kronos and make the cost of that lost time even worse. he tries to kill percy again, blah blah blah, that is the last time percy is going to spare some idiot titan army member's stupid ungrateful ass, three months later they run into each other again ethan tries to kill percy again Percy calls Ethan a lot of really rude names and then proceeds to spare his life again. Like he doesn't even try to harmlessly capture him this time. No explanation again because they are fucking Weird. flash forward to the battle of manhattan, percy takes on the curse of achilles so he can fight kronos, now he is completely invulnerable except for one secret weak spot on his body that nobody knows the location of, except ethan apparently, because that guy somehow figures it out in less than 24 hours. ethan tries to kill percy, annabeth takes the knife, now percy really hates ethan, and Ethan, who has hated percy for the past two books, who is on kronos' side, should tell kronos where percy's secret spot is so this whole war can be resolved quickly, right? but does he? No! and are we ever going to find out why? no!!! instead we get an incredibly dramatic and tragic scene in which kronos tells ethan to reveal percy's secret spot, ethan refuses (he literally tried to kill percy himself like ten minutes ago), proceeds to take the sword stab that was meant for percy, dies with percy's weak spot as their secret, and directs his last words to percy with no malice right before he falls off olympus and dies six hundred floors below. zero explanation why he suddenly felt the need to sacrifice himself for a guy he's tried to kill multiple times before and never had a one-on-one conversation with in his Remarkably Short Life. oh yeah percy makes an offhanded comment afterwards about how he made sure to tell everyone ethan was on their side in the end and deserved a camp burial. On a Completely Unrelated Note does Anyone Want to Hear my Headcanons on which Characters are Bisexual
Annabeth obsessing with Odysseus after she's introduced to his story at camp, because he's so witty and sharp-minded, — and her mother adores him, so if she becomes like him, then Athena'll totally adore Annabeth too.
Percy being quite indifferent to Odysseus for many years, regarding him mainly as Annabeth's favourite hero and his dad's long dead enemy, but not thinking too deep into his story outside of his witty plans retold by Annabeth or factual information, — and then rediscovering his story after the second war, and getting hit with the connection he feels with that man who just tried to return home.
(Bonus if he rediscovers it through epic the musical: reflection on how far Percy's willing to go and how far he actually did go in the second war in order to return home and reunite with his loved ones.)
Something about Calypso calling Percy "My brave one", endlessly gentle, — and Annabeth screaming "You're a coward, Percy Jackson" right into his face in the next book.
Something about Percy having just recovered from burning alive, healed by Calypso, leaving her and her gentleness as fast as he can, even if he still craves and needs to rest, because he knows they need him to return, — and being greeted with "WHERE HAVE YOU BEEN?" and jealousy and anger.
Out of everything Hades could've done to Iapetus, he just... hired him? To sweep palace floors? While Nico, Hades' teenage son, feels free and comfy to casually chat with him about Percy being such a good friend?
I guess Iapetus didn't make much of an impression on his enemies in the first Titanomachy and didn't hurt anyone valuable then.
