More ramblings below
Herm contād: Initially hired as dishwasher, ends up quickly thrown as a closer/fill-in for other stations. Settled most into cold prep, but still does dishes and trash voluntarily to help with rush. Often paired with another at their station as a helper. Has worked line and expo before. Misplaces dishes and prep ingredients frequently, sending other staff on scavenger hunts to find their own shit. Bumps into people a lot. Cries in the walk-in often.
Robert: MIT quickly turned Manager, now handles schedules. Kind of fills in wherever help is needed and closes the kitchen / counts stock. Always the last to leave. Doesnāt gaf and diet is whatās made in the kitchen, steals the grill when Chadās absent to make grilled cheeses.
Mandy: Kitchen Manager, opens kitchen and handles truck orders / hiring paperwork. Hangs around expo the most to keep steady flow albeit versatile anywhere. Runs kitchen speakers with SAFE playlist. Packs own lunch, refuses to eat kitchen meals.
Chad: Broil/Hot Prep, absolutely carries kitchen and knows it. Extremely efficient worker. Cooks for Mandy, NOT Robert. Shittalks customers with Alice when she shows up with a returned steak. So valuable as a worker / relied on for his work ethic he can get away with being a douche and complaining the whole time. Unloads truck and does own maintenance on his grill, goes halfsies with dress code solely for Mandyās sake
Alice: Server, but hangs in kitchen so much sheās practically one of them. Hides in walk-in to vape and take phone breaks, sees rolling silverware as relaxation. Works expo sometimes.
Courtney: Line Cook. Bad habit of disappearing at the worst times to hang behind the dumpsters and sneak smoke breaks. Trades food with staff under the table. Somehow not fired yet bc Mandy likes her too much.
Janelle: Cuts meat. Brings own sharpener from home and preps everyoneās knives in the morning. Practically lives in the meat room, takes food made in kitchen home as dinner. Listens to audiobooks while everyoneās in dinner rush hell, extremely task oriented.
Malevola: Cold prep. Trained Herm on it, only chill with him bc he blasted everyoneās ears off by accident when given aux privs. Works at own pace and chats during, doesnāt follow dress code. Unloads from truck during mornings, quick to leave. Lowk chill asf coworker and knows tea.
Victor: Cold prep. Fired from last job for failing drug test, referred to this kitchen by Mal and constant yapper. Wanders to other stations for small talk, needs to be redirected to own tasks often. Been begging Mandy for MIT training to get ahold of finances, still unsuccessful. Kind of a sleaze.
Colm: Broil/Fry, the guy to go to when you want free food. Has horror stories from kitchen incidents years back. Likes to aim for ankles when rolling carts between lanes. Substituted for server temporarily when Katon-Ur was demoted for shits and giggles, trained Herm on closing stations. Probably one of the most chill there, hangs in the meat room sometimes
Bruno: General Fill-In. That one coworker thatās always high. Despite being the most easygoing, his physiognomy limits what stations he can be on severely. Heās cool with it though. Doesnāt mind picking up shifts.
Katon-Ur: One of the only male servers, got the most tips bc of his physique. Post-breakup, performance dropped so much he was banished to rolling silverware for weeks. Would randomly vanish to go cry in the bathroom. Robert pulled him to train on expo to avoid firing. Fem servers adore and miss him. Has no life outside of work.
Royd: On-Call Maintenance Guy. Been working for Mandy for forever and fills in for cold/hot prep sometimes. Has worked all stations in the past.

you wanna know what I'm good at? I'm good at killing people. yeah when i got back from afghanistan i uh i was really depressed you know like i didn't leave my house for months. and uh this friend of my dad's, he's uh he's like an uncle to me he uh he helped me out and he gave me a purpose. he told me that that what i'm good at over there could be useful here and uh. it's a job you know the money's good and uh these people i take out like they're they're bad people you know like they're pieces of shit. um but lately you know i like I'm not sleeping and the that depressed feeling is back you know. like like i know there's more to me than that. but maybe i dunno. maybe there's not. maybe this is all I'm good at. i don't know.
