I think at the end of the day a lotta folks are uncomfortable with the idea that they're capable of causing harm to others even when they're vulnerable, and rather than cope with the fact that they have a terrifying amount of agency to do both good and bad in the world and are enabled and encouraged to do bad things to others by complex systemic power structures, they just fall back on bullshit explanations about why that couldn't possibly apply to them because they're trans men or they're neurodivergent or they're bald or their cousin married a woman from the Philippines once or whatever. Because it's easier to exempt yourself from having agency than it is to acknowledge that a real society exists round you.

when i was first learning about transfeminism, i saw a lot of posts along the lines of “trans men get really angry when you call them men” and at first they ticked me off, because it doesn’t make any sense? i’d never feel that way, who would get angry about being referred to as the gender that they are?

but now? holy shit. now i know everyone saying that was right. they get EXTREMELY angry and will say anything to try and prove you wrong.
