It makes it very clear what you're saying. I can call a man with a gun to threaten or hurt someone mildly inconveniencing me. I met a girl who did a very good half of exam but didn't actually know the answer, so she wrote a full page (two sides), left half a sentence at the end of the page and wrote "Page 1 of 2" and submitted that. In college, I forgot I had a paper (that I hadn't written a word of) due, until the teacher asked us to pass them forward at the start of the class... I had my computer though, and so I said I had forgotten the printed copy at home, could I please run to the computer lab after class and print it and bring it right over? He said sure, he could wait a few minutes since it was just downstairs. I don't have to look at my hands to type, so I wrote it in class while staring at the board like I was taking notes, and printed it off after. Got a B on it.

Freshman year of highschool I had a teacher that had an assignment called current events. Basically you write two half pages of what happened in the world that week on notebook paper (this was like 2018 and he was one of the teachers silently protesting the new student laptops) and then to get full credit you had to read a page in front of the class.

Well every Friday without fail he would listen to like one or two students and then leave for like 15 minutes or more. So as soon as he left kids would race to the front to take turns Turing their papers in. But we were also smart enough to not have every paper turned in and a few kids who didn’t care would take the hit and read in front of class after the teacher came back. He also didn’t read the papers afterwards so I would get away with writing random sentences in the middle and still get full credit.

These are two canonically trans characters. So, lets look at this interaction from that perspective.

Huntress sees Hunter and without knowing anything more about him she assumes he's weak. Because she sees a version of herself, a trans woman, that is presenting as a man. So, she assumes Hunter is a version of herself that hasn't transitioned, that is *too weak* to transition. Which also drives home in her mind that she is *the* version of Huntress Wizard and Hunter is just a weak copy of herself.

But Hunter just sees a version of himself, nothing else exceot that this version of himself is rude and putting on a "tough guy" personna. Possibly he also sees a pre-transition version of himself. Maybe before transition Hunter was more closed off and abrasive. I know I was when I was living in the closet. So it doesn't even occur to him that calling Huntress "guy" would be a problem.

Which gets Hunter rightfully headbutted.

(It happened so fast I had to pause the clip to get a screenshot and so I couldn't get it without all the youtube bullshit in the shot, lol)

I love this whole interaction so fucking much. It's pretty much *exactly* how I expected it would go. Like, long before this episode aired I imagined how I would react if I encountered a version of me that was a transmasc, and that would probably be what I would think upon seeing them as well; a version of me that never found the strength to transition.
