i hate it when i cant even write a poem about something because its too obvious. like in the airbnb i was at i guess it used to be a kids room cause you could see the imprint of one little glow in the dark star that had been missed and painted over in landlord white. like that's a poem already what's the point

these exchanges and this fiddling about for the collective to appreciate in passing is, to me, true artistic spirit. I don't know what the past was truly like to live, but in my heart i know that humans have always been... like this

I know I said I was done talking about princess diaries Aragorn BUT

“Where is Gondor?” “Carthage.” “…Where is Carthage?” “[Sigh] North Africa.” “So you’re… African?” “Yes.” “But you’re white?” “Don’t quote Mean Girls at me. I’m not white, my mom is Spanish but my father’s people are mostly Arabs.” “So you’re middle eastern?” “No, I’m North African.”

Aragorn being the Prince of Gondor but the King of the Dunedin and having to explain the difference between national governments and leaders of ethnic groups and why he’s king of one but not the other every time one of his white friends finds out he’s royalty

[Faramir voice] “things were a lot more simple before colonialism happened and the French ruined everything”

After Éowyn threatens to cut his hair with her pocket knife he explains his entire family history and when they get to the farm and she pulls into the driveway she jumps out of the truck and yells “EOMER, ESTEL IS THE KING OF ATLANTIS AND HE NEVER TOLD US” and Aragorn’s like “GODDAMN IT I KNEW I SHOULDN’T HAVE MENTIONED THE NUMENORIANS”

[Éowyn voice] “wait, is this why you always got to cop out of every family heritage assignment in school?!”

Gilraen is Spanish and she’s from Aragon (because I’m hilarious) and has a framed picture of her in-laws on the mantle right next to a portrait of the King & Queen of Spain (everyone thinks she’s a monarchist but really it’s THEMATIC)

“I’m not going to claim the throne because my mother watched her husband be assassinated after two years of marriage, and I would like to apologize to her by living long enough to give her grandchildren.”

Faramir is also technically a prince, but his father’s title doesn’t really translate as King and Boromir’s going to be the leader of their people anyway so it doesn’t matter

Aragorn goes to Catholic school because Gilraen is Spanish Catholic and also because it’s the only private school in the area that has Arabic as an elective
