I do enjoy telling people who unironically say theyâre gold star gays im a gold star bisexual and you can tangibly see the [didnât like that] telltale games facial expression appear on their face
doesn't it piss you off that you have to find something to eat every single day. every one of them. just every day. you gotta eat something
This comment was left on a post about making the most of the Libby app. "Excessive use of generous lending policies" is the most absurd phrase I've ever seen anyone use to discuss libraries.
evergreen
looked up Heidi because I'm a journalist
for reasons I can't imagine this publisher of sexless Alaska love stories is averaging under 20 likes each on posts about her books, so if I can be so honest I kind of have my doubts that her books are getting read even with the excessive use of generous lending policies
Also her claim that authors are not getting paid per borrow is.... wrong. With ebooks (which is what she's talking about here with Libby) there are two forms of licensing for libraries to lend out ebooks.
The first kind is that they buy a license for a pre-determined amount of check-outs. I'll just make some numbers up for the sake of illustrating what that looks like: Let's say $20 for 20 borrows. When the ebook has been checked out 20 times, the library has to renew the license and pay more money in order to continue lending out the ebook. The author gets a cut of that $20 as their royalties.
The second kind is literally paying per borrow. (Again just making up numbers here) Let's say the library pays 50 cents every time the book is checked out. The author still gets a cut as their royalties. Is it just 10 or 20 cents per borrow? Yes, but that adds up! AND it means that people who otherwise wouldn't have been able to read my book at all are able to read it, which is great! AND it means that the library is thriving and being used, which is also great!
So yes, authors DO get paid from library activity!!!!!!
Do not feel guilty for using the library. I don't know one single author (except this Little Miss Ma'am in the screenshots, apparently) who would resent their readers for using libraries.
Charlie Kirk is scheduled to speak at UVU. I have the opportunity to do the funniest thing of all time

tubi is one of our greatest warriors in the fight against streaming services costing a fortune for mediocre content. tubi has the most insane collection of movies you will ever encounter all for free. it has cult classics and questionable lifetime movies and movies that nobody except like three people on the planet have ever seen. tubi has movies that doesnât exist. like if you just thought of a movie one day but never made it and no one ever made it it would somehow still exist on tubi. one day i will log onto tubitv dot com and i will see terribly inappropriate, overly complex, and strange on there. and i wonât even be surprised.
Tubi is where I found this gem:
wait this wasnât a âpoob has it for youâ bit?
tubi doesnt have what youre looking for but it does have a lot of things you would never have thought to
Why is so much adult oriented 2d animation bastard ugly, do they know they donât have to do that? The characters donât have to projectile vomit all the time either, but maybe thatâs asking too much
Finding out Hans Zimmer is a transphobe genuinely had me falling to my knees
Thank you blastybaku for explaining this!/gen
If you've ever heard a movie score and thought "holy shit, this is incredible", there's like, a 50% chance it was Hans Zimmer who composed it.
This is a pretty major letdown, ngl.
Anyways, fuck transphobes, which includes Hans Zimmer, apparently.
Anyway shoutout to John Williams, amazing composer and probably the one who made the other 50% of "holy shit amazing" soundtracks (Jurassic Park, Star Wars, Superman, and incidentally the original Harry Potter theme and score) who famously worked closely with the first openly transgender woman to be nominated for an Academy Award, Angela Morley. He respected her, and so far as I can see, has never made transphobic remarks.
[crying into elf gfs shoulder after remembering a naruto characters backstory that I read on a wiki page a decade ago] it wasnt right what happened to him, his father committed suicide, he was afraid of love, he was just starting to learn but obito died and he had to kill rin with his bare hands, its not fucking fair, he was just a fucking kid,
ELF GF: [nudging my hand towards her 25% erect penis] ninja society sounds so cruel...
to clarify, elf gf is erect because she had intended to get her dick sucked, but was sidetracked by my lamenting the destruction of kakashi's innocence. she is not enjoying this

youtubers should do reverse sponsorships. just interrupt the narrative of the video to shit-talk some random company for 1-2 minutes.
