In love with this
we have to spread this around so this dudes hapless victims can go "YOU!!!"
yeah okay ill reblog that
This has no right being so funny to me
Me n my mutuals watching it all unfold……….
Whatching what unfold?
It's been a very busy week for me, but I am still researching the other claim I got when I have time!!!! I don't think it will be very shocking, though (and thats a good thing! We want less shitty things in the wcrp world!)
If you have any claims you wish to be researched, please do not hesitate to reach out. As always, sources are kept anonymous!
Hey yall, lets be real I made this bc I was talking with friends about a discord warrior cats RP and found out some real bad shit.
Long story short, Warriors of the Cliffside is using w3nd1go as their main villain. It does look like they've also taken some from sk1nwalker stories as well. There is a HUUUGE issue with Native folklore + culture appropriation in warrior cats rp groups (+ the fandom in general) and this is just another gross ass case of it.
My proof?
1) The appearance matches most common w3nd1go designs, as well as written descriptions, including
-gaunt appearance
-mashup of multiple animals
-exceedingly tall
2) It's cannibalistic, and drawn to kill for the sole purpose of eating cats/people
3) It appeared at the end of a long and starving winter, the same as w3ndigo origin
4) It's known for its disturbing cry, and uses its voice to get prey alone and attack
5) Its found in the same region as w3ndigos
6) The reason why is different, but mixed with other factors its still telling, it has a disgusting smell that is one of the first things that people find about it
Granted, as this is a mystery in the server, and for anonymity of sources, I dont have server sources for everything, but I think this is more than enough to show the clear parallels and appropriation of this native folklore.
I think this paragraph from the paper Stolen Spirits: The Appropriation of the Windigo Spirit in Horror Literature by Kallie Hunchman puts it best:
Come on, yall. We need to do better.
UPDATE
An anonymous source has also pointed out a main mod's toyhouse with drawings of the creature, apparently referred to as Aunt Agnes.
If you compare these images to the initial W3ndigo art I posted, you can see the considerable similarities. Granted, this is hooved on all 4 feet instead of 2, but with every other similarity I find this to be a relatively minor difference.
The most egregious, I believe, is these two side by side
(W3ndigo on left, "Aunt Agnes" on right)
Proof these came from the creator "fridaysnack" on toyhouse (if the link is removed)
A community for collaborative character creation and trading, worldbuilding and roleplay.
In the server. It's a kelpie, besties. The server's creature lore is built on fae/Celtic folklore. I want you to go back to good old Google and look at those horses and then look up what a kelpie is. Hope this helps.
I am well aware of kelpie lore. This certainly shares some points, but many more are tied to w3ndigos. As I spoke with user fridaysnack in DMs, if sources are shared that show evidence otherwise, I will pull back this post.
After a long conversation with tumblr user fridaysnack, the creator of warriors of the cliffside, I cannot truly say if I believe the kelpie claim. I've decided to post the conversation, with the only censoring being for things fridaysnack has stated are spoilers for the server.
Please, as with anything, form your own opinions based on evidence and research.
In addition, I would like to add that despite claims, this was not some targeted attack or vendetta. This blog is purely about exposing harmful, bigoted, appropriative or toxic roleplay groups so people know what they're walking into. And quite frankly, warriors of the cliffside is not the only server in my lineup, they were merely the first. Research is still impending, but expect to see something in the next week or so.
