Anyone else feel a gnawing aching melancholy that twists your gut and claws at your heart?
A woman not shaving or wearing a dress or wearing makeup or wearing femme clothes or having styled or long hair or caring how she looks or using a masc name or whatever else is actually a neutral thing and not a sign of her being depressed or giving up or being sad or whatever

April Poetry Challenge, 2026: Day 15: 12 Life Lessons from Brambles
Foraging for blackberries at the side of the lane in Autumn is a great family activity, and like almost everything, has things to teach us!
Twelve Life Lessons from the Brambles
At that moment, only the mindfulness tug of the fruit as it gives in the hand.
No matter that fingers are stained, wrists scratched, we need two shades of red on our skin.
Our harvests will get squashed in the bucket.
Defiant fatter blackberries are buried deep in the brambles.
The unripe ones, like little knots, are treasures that have to wait. Though the frosts may get them first.
The buckets we carry will get slowly heavier.
They’ll really be too full of seeds when cooked, but they’re ours.
Gifts free as air, first spotted a month ago.
Children will remember braving the barbed, looping strands.
Such glee that no-one got here before us.
They were waiting for us to arrive.
Store-bought blackberries are fatter, but who cares?

2026 things i am having to repeat to myself to get it to stick:
i am not interested in finding ways to be less so i fit more into other ppl's lives and less into my own
i am interested in learning how to do cryptic crosswords
both of these are equally tricky to remember
Who up gaily treading they measure?
perhaps. i do want to be loved. unfortunate.
Not to hand it to the Pope but telling world leaders during Holy Week that God isn’t listening is kinda funny.
This was a kind of sweet dashboard coincidence.
"i've got no qualms about it" meanwhile i'm over here making qualm chowder
