Not sure if this was dicussed before but why is there a painting of Ben???

Like I get it for the purpose of one of the brellies to point out an obvious change in their home, but other than that why?? Originally it was meant to be for Five. The boy that went missing and pressumed dead. But Ben is still alive in the Sparrows and is only number 2 so he's not that special as far as they know. So besides the ego boost, why did he get a painting?
