Crack Concept: The Trojans are talking with the Foxes during a banquet when Nabil overhears Andrew refer to Neil as Abram. He assumes that Abram is short for Abraham (aka Ibrahim in Arabic) and thinks Neil is also Muslim.
You know maybe he’s using a more anglicised version of his name because it’s not exactly easy being openly Muslim in America. And from what he’s heard about the guy his family doesn’t really seem to be around and Ramadan is coming up…
So with that in mind Nabil goes up to Neil and gives him an invitation to spend Iftari with him and his family.
It’s a very sweet and kind gesture…only problem is Neil is not Muslim and has no idea what the heck Nabil is on about. And he’s about to tell him just that when who else but Andrew Joseph Minyard swoops in and accepts the invite on his behalf.
For you see Andrew has been passed around the foster care system, he’s been with a Muslim family or two and he knows Iftari = Food very good food and the sweetest of treats.
And he is NOT about to let Neil ruin this for him!

“Yeah yeah now let’s go get dessert before your boyfriend cains it all.”

You should only write in present tense with extreme caution.
not because it's bad or anything but because if you do it even once you're going to be editing the bits where you shifted tenses out of your writing for the rest of your life
if u write in present tense enough times in a row, you can switch this problem around & get confused when your present-tense narrator is talking abt something that happened in Their past. I recommend this bc it keeps u on ur toes
