I know I haven't posted in a while... been busy 🙈! I just recently stumbled upon this Turkish show called "Çukur" (you gotta love those whumpy Turkish dramas!)

The main trope here is asthma which I haven't seen portrayed that much on TV and I'm here for it! The character's name is Akin and he goes through so many asthma attacks and subsequent h/c that it's just pure gold every time (the wheezing... omg), I just had to share!

Sorry guys! It’s been a long time since I’ve published anything but I was kinda busy with work and since everything’s shut down, I’ve had time to binge watch this Turkish series called « Zalim Istanbul ». Ever since @fanfictionwhump mentioned it, I’ve been obsessed with this show.

It’s got it all:  Really angsty/emotional characters, medical stuff and so many over dramatic hurt/comfort scenes that we love. Especially, since main characters can’t seem to catch a break from the drama and let’s be honest, us whumpers never get enough angst and suffering !!  The storyline is OK-ish but the actors are so good ...and pretty good looking!

Most of the drama centers around a disabled character so it may be hard to watch if you’re sensitive to that but bear with it ‘cause spoilers (not really): he recovers 😁(slowly of course, those are the best kinds of recoveries)

I’ve gif-ed some scenes but there are so many! I’m currently working on a site where I’ll list all the important “whumpisodes” if you’re interested (those are 2-hour eps after all!)

Huge bonus: you can find English subtitles on the net very easily so you won’t get frustrated that it’s in Turkish!

Happy International Whump Day!

Once upon a time, on a whump discord server far, far away, a handful of whump community members got together and came up with an idea.

What if we had an International Day of Whump? I mean, if donuts can have one, why can’t we, right??

And thus September 12th was chosen as it was on this day in 1997 that the Stargate: SG1 character of Daniel Jackson had his first on air death. Why is this relevant, you might ask? Well it’s because fanlore tells us the term “whump” was first coined by fans of Daniel h/c stories. Since the term has its origins with this character, why not celebrate it on the day when the first of his many deaths occurred!?

I had planned a lot more fanfare for today, a whole week of celebration, actually, but real life and my health have unfortunately forced me to condense it down into one post on the day. Next year we’ll do it right, but for today I was hoping you all might take a moment to reblog this post, maybe add the day to your calendar, and then tell me a little bit about how you first discovered whump and what it, and this community, means to you. You can add a comment, reblog, or send me an ask. I’ll tag all things related to the day with “International Whump Day” if you want to avoid spam.

Whumpday thoughts 🧠

So, I’ve noticed that in our beloved Whumpapedia database, there was no dedicated section to Daytime drama. Now, I know from watching them a lot that most storylines are farfetched and I’m guessing the medical details don’t add up for the most part but I’ve got to admit that to me, there are still some pretty good hurt/comfort scenes in those shows. I’ve already gif-ed some daytime goodness but I was just wondering if that’s something you’d like to see more of? Because I’ve got plenty of those in store 😄 It could either be whump lists or gifs, or both, just let me know 🙃

I've been into whump for almost a decade now but I've never been a fanfiction reader. That said, I've been craving for some Erik Gelden hurt/comfort fics lately. Since I'm new to the whole fiction reading thing, I'd like to know if you have (or would be inspired to write) hurt/comfort fics where Erik's headaches would get so intense that he'd suffer seizures (or lose consciousness) from being around those bad peops. Bonus points if it happens when Jessica's around comforting /reassuring/ protecting him during (and after) his fit.
