Have you done anything fun this weekend? For reasons unbeknownst ~ yikes that’s a big word ~ to me, I’m still in quarantine (yay NHS app 💃🏾), but I’ve been able to get sooo much reading done and even started my most intimidating read: The Prory of the Orange Tree! This was a very confusing one for me, Pen we need to have words 💀 Okay so first of all, I know that there are a lot of witchy vibes in this picture but that’s mostly just me needing an exorcism or some kind of cleansing after reading this because all toxicity levels HAVE BEEN BREACHED… The fact we’ve graduated from morally grey to morally pitch black characters was an escalation for which I was unprepared… Now don’t get me wrong, I’m usually up for most things, but I spent about 90% of this book loathing the guys and feeling very uncomfortable about their actions. BUT of course I still couldn’t put this down and naturally I’ll be reading the rest of the series 💀 not to mention I STILL somehow fell in love with them all????? It’s very confuzzling I’m not okay and I feel a bit icky sksksk why have you done this to me Penny 😭 Anyway, here’s a quote that I felt summed up what was going on in my head and how I have highly selective memory when it comes to red flags: “His rudeness and coarse attitude made the rare times he was soft so captivating that I wanted to slap myself. He was a sadist, and my little heart just had to go pitter-patter the second his yanks, grabs, and pulls turned into gentle caresses and his frowns, scowls, and snarls turned into whispers.” (Also swipe to the last pic to see what inevitably highjacks my brain every time I read this quote 💀) So in summation: could someone please give me directions to the bar because it’s so low I don’t think we can see it from here 💀 ⭐️⭐️⭐️ / 5 (this was higher at a generous 4 but then I watched @bobaandbooktalk’s live - which I would highly recommend because their weekly episodes slap - and every positive I was clinging to kinda slipped through my fingers) 🌶🌶🌶🌶 / 5 - this is a given though, Penelope Douglas knows what she’s doing 😏 (at Thunder Bay) https://www.instagram.com/p/CQyf46wrOot/?utm_medium=tumblr

It’s been a while (check out my post from a few weeks ago for my review) and this book is STILL on my mind honestly I don’t think I’ll sleep peacefully until I have the next one in my hands… 👆🏾 A book I will always recommend is: 𝐊𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐝𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐖𝐢𝐜𝐤𝐞𝐝. I tried so hard with this book but it’s literally the first I’ve ever dnf’d and not felt the need to finish or find out what happens 😭 💍 A character I would marry is: 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐧 𝐆𝐫𝐞𝐞𝐧𝐛𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐫. ☀️ I GOT A TEXT ☀️ For all my Love Island stans, no I don’t have a hot date on a beach in Spain, but, arguably even better, I’ve finally gotten the go ahead to book a vaccine appointment!! I’m so excited to finally have some peace of mind and to feel like I can more confidently enjoy the easing of our lockdown 😍 I have to say, I’m a little nervous - I’ve never NOT had a panic attack when getting a jab 💀 - but I’m lucky to have the opportunity and will be getting it done asap!! Has anyone else had the vaccine? Do you have any advice or encouragement?! Anything to calm my anxiety would be much appreciated 🙊 ☀️☀️☀️ In other news, today is apparently the last day of our mini-heatwave (hopefully it’ll start up again later next week!), so of course I had to take advantage of it and get some summer shots!!
