slave whumpee has made a drastic mistake. they're newly bought and owner doesn't pay them much attention. there are rarely any instructions apart from the usual and they're given three meals every day, like a gift for something they didn't do.

and now whumpee has made a huge, huge mistake. it warrants weeks— maybe months, if owner decides to prolong their misery— of unending pain. they'll be beaten, humiliated, starved within an inch of their worthless life.

restraints during recovery. medical bands to keep them still because they really do need that IV, and if they keep pulling it out, they'll be sedated. team brawn holding a thrashing, terrified whumpee, two arms braced across their chest so they can't hurt anyone. putting the chains on for a cover up, for an act, but slipping too far into the mindset they had as a prisoner, counting the scratches on the metal. gagging a whumpee to keep them quiet during escape. muzzling a starved vampire because they can't feed until it's safe. restraining a recovering whumpee and watching their eyes glaze over, like they never left.........

Pet Whump - Training & Stuff

I need like NEED more pet whump focused more on the actual training process.

Whumper getting whumpee used to sleeping in a kennel. So confined and restrictive that even when they aren't in the kennel they begin to naturally curl up into a tight ball while sleeping.

Making sure Whumpee never speaks, not like a person at least, maybe the training is so good that even after whumpee is saved, all they can manage is barks and whines just like a dog.

Whumper forces whumpee to eat dog food, or an equivalent, right out of a dog bowl, just like a dog should. When whumpee is saved, they simply refuse to eat for a few days, they're a good dog, good dogs don't eat off plates.

Until finally caretaker (desperate to avoid whumpee developing refeeding syndrome) buys a dog bowl for whumpee. Which, much to the relief (and slight horror) of caretaker, finally gets whumpee to eat, though hesitantly, after all whumper did good to teach whumpee that dogs don't eat people food.

Caretaker has to get creative to find ways to get whumpee to eat actual people food that won't make them feel like they're disobeying.

Whumpee who insists on sleeping at the foot of caretaker's bed, who sits beside the bed whimpering and whining until finally caretaker relents, whumpee jumping up on the bed and quickly falling asleep at caretaker's feet.

Whumpee is taught commands, sit, stay, roll over, it takes some convincing (withholding food, shock collar, beatings) but eventually whumpee begins to play along.

Whumpee feels an attachment to their collar, because being collared means being owned, being owned means you're useful, the only reason whumpee survived whumper is because they stayed useful. So when caretaker tries to take whumpee's collar off they become hysterical, crying and freaking out, cowering in a corner. The first time caretaker hears whumpee speak is whumpee begging to not be put down, that they can learn more tricks. They can do better, be better. They'll do anything, anything if it means they'll stay caretakers pet.

Whumpee had watched other 'pets' being put down, usually in awful slow and painful ways. As whumper always said "If you aren't useful alive, you might as well be entertaining as you die".

It takes caretaker nearly an hour to get whumpee to calm down, even then they can still hear whumpee's quiet sobs when caretaker is in the other room.

behind the masks by @/whumpering-heights is definitely my all-time favorite, but the author accidentally deleted their blog and the new one has been inactive since october of last year, so nothing has been re-uploaded and most of it is completely gone 😭

lydia and coriander by @/maracujatangerine is absolutely AMAZING, i'm a sucker for bbu and pet whump, and it has just enough recovery whump to be fantastic. i've not finished it, but there's plenty to read, and the storytelling is just fantastic. i love cori so much it's not even reasonable fjkdlsjfkdls

not really a true 'series' but i absolutely adore @/chaotic-orphan's hero/villain drabbles, they're just incredibly well-written and suicidal hero always hits me right in the gut

and then i am far from caught up in it, but @/melpomenelamusa's choose your own adventure has been really fun to participate and read along with! it's based off of their chimeras series, which has absolutely INSANE worldbuilding and is totally worth checking out if you've got some time on your hands

thinking about reopening the dialogue ask game for the last two weeks or so before the new year 🤔 i got some of my favorite prompts outta those bad boys.......

Thinking about a hero with the power to make their wishes happen who also secluded themselves from society because their power is so dangerous. But one villain finally tracks them down and ends up provoking them too far, and Hero ends up saying,

“Go to Hell, Villain.”

And, quite accidentally, sends Villain through a portal to a land of endless fire and brimstone.

And like, what if Hero only got one wish a day. And they had to wait a whole 24 hours before they could wish Villain back.

When they finally do, Villain just drops in front of them, a sobbing shell of their former self, haunted and burned.

And then this self-loathing, recluse of a Hero ends up taking care of them, maybe healing a little of themselves along the way.

Could 100% work with the roles reversed, too, with Supervillain having big feelings about sending Hero to Hell.

The heroes came running when the world was on fire. They always came running. Hero was at the bar, where they always were, watching the news. A neat whiskey clutched between bandaged fingers.

The door slammed open. Hero didn’t have to turn to know it was Superhero’s sidekick. “Hero—“

“Not interested.”

“But Villain—“

“I know. Don’t care,” Hero replied. Daryl, the bartender, shot Hero a look and Hero pretended to not see it.

Sidekick sat on the stool next to Hero and ordered another: “whiskey; neat.”

“Mmm, I love being bribed,” Hero smiled.

“Villain’s destroying the city.”

“I didn’t ask.”

“And you’re here, drinking.”

“Perceptive,” hero purred, reaching and taking the whiskey glass from Daryl and pouring it into their glass. “They’re a minor,” Hero whispered to Daryl conspiratorially.

“I’m not.”

“Well, then. You’re on the clock. Can’t fight crime if you’re impaired.”

“And yet somehow you manage.”

“Somehow I’m always called in on my day off. Blame your boss for disrupting my plans. Not the other way around, sunshine.”

Hero took a sip of their drink. In their peripheral vision they saw Sidekick turn their body to face Hero. Mmm, getting serious. Hero loved serious sidekick. It’s like a puppy trying to be mean.

“You know Villain best—“

“Bullshit. Your superhero knows them longest.”

“Villain likes you best,” Sidekick amended and Hero nodded.

“So? Are we match making heroes and villains now? Is that Superhero’s excuse, hmm? Will that same explanation slide if I come up against a new villain?” Hero put on a high pitched voice as they said: “oh I’m sorry superhero. This new villain’s rising sign is Virgo. I’m a Scorpio, we’re gonna clash.”

“This is different and you know it.”

“How is this different? Because your beloved superhero says so? Are you just a little dog with no mind of your own? Does Superhero whistle and you come?”

“I’m not here to trade insults, Hero. God knows that could well be your superpower. I’m here to ask you to help me stop people’s lives being ruined. Normal people’s lives. Fuck Superhero. Fuck villain. Fuck the whole fucking system. I’m here to ask you, to help me. Please.”

Hero looked at Daryl and Daryl looked at them. Hero rolled their eyes and tipped their head back, the whiskey running hot down their aching throat. Then they stood. Empty glass on the bar. Hero shrugged their trench coat on and patted Sidekick’s shoulder fondly.

“Pay Daryl for me will ya? And a big tip, for the inconvenience. See you tomorrow Daryl,” Hero waved over their shoulder. Whistling as they walked out the door.

“Thanks Daryl,” Sidekick said paying the man and leaving a generous tip.

“Thank me all you want kid. Hero’ll just be back in here after the fight. It’s good to see them getting out, even if it is under these circumstances. Y’know ever since—“

“I know, Daryl. Thanks.”

“Later kid.”

Sidekick followed Hero out the door, where Hero was waiting a lit cigarette hanging from their lips.

“So what’s villain up to today?”

Whumpee escapes whumper's clutches, staggers away from the place they were kept against all odds. They're wounded, ribs cracked, but they have to get home. They have to.

No one glances their way as they huddle in their seat on the bus. They hold back tears; they can't draw any attention to themself.

They stumble up to their doorstep. They kick aside the rock hiding their spare key. The key jingles against the pavement.

"Whumpee? Oh... whumpee."

Whumpee ducks their head, trying to hide the bruises on their face. Tears swim in their eyes. No... they didn't want anyone to see this, didn't want anyone to know.

Whumpee's friend sprints up to them, drags them into a squeezing hug. It's their friend's arms around their cracked ribs that finally causes whumpee to cry out.

is WRU an international company, or confined to a single country? how does the legality and popular view of boxies vary between different parts of the world?

for that matter, RELIGION. what do people of various religions think about boxies? would, for example, the catholic church be in support of or vehemently against the practice? could some ultra-wealthy person try to start a cult by buying a bunch of boxies and making them be part of it?

people trying to pull WRU-based scams has to be a thing, given they'll give large sums of money to any recipient designated by people trying to become pets. people thinking they'll sell themselves to WRU and then escape. even handlers and intake staff being in on this.

semi-related to the previous, people trying to sell knockoff pets would also totally exist as a scam, a new form of illegal human trafficking. as opposed to the legal human trafficking.

someone who's resistant to the memory-loss drug and keeps their memory.

trans boxies! how are they handled! is their chosen gender respected, or tossed to the void as soon as their memory's wiped? what if they've had surgeries? will WRU even accept them as applicants that case?

boxie social lives within facilities. we always see boxies interacting with handlers, but what about boxies interacting with each other. bittersweet feelings when one of a pair of best friends is sold, since they're leaving this awful place but they'll never see each other again, the only friend they ever remember having. on the flip side, a boxie who gets bullied by other trainees, whump on top of whump.

In a lot of BBU recovery stories I observed that in most cases the caretaker is either A) A Pet Lib movement activist or B) Not exactly an activist, but someone who's got nothing to do with Pets but ends up being gifted one by a close friend or relative so they start taking care of them (and those are GREAT don't get me wrong) but what if we make up something fresher?

Caretaker who WAS an WRU handler. They were not fazed by it in the slightest but something happened (maybe they bonded with a trainee) and now they have a newfound compassion towards Pets

Caretaker who is a rich kid that grew surrounded by Pets. They, however, didn't agree much with the way their parents treated THEIR Pets and now that they have their own home? They are gonna treat them as right as they want

Cue to Caretaker highly underestimating how hard it is to help a Box Boy heal

Or alternatively we can have a character who was a Carewhumper and didn't want to help them heal per se, just not torture them and are fine keeping them as a subhuman being.

That could change later: Perhaps they hire someone to help them with providing comfort to their pet (they maybe bonded with whumpee) and THAT person is a Pet Lib activist undercover that teaches Caretaker upon request to be more... humanitarian. Imagine Eleanor from the Good Place trying to learn how to be a good person.
