I’m not actually well versed in this LGBTQIA vocabulary, can someone explain what transsexual means?

its a bit of an outdated term for transgender people, literally meaning "someone who crosses sex," like a person who takes hormones and gets surgeries as part of their gender transition. its still used occasionally, either by older folk who grew up using that terminology or by younger people using it in a jokey way.

i should also warn as part of this explanation that sometimes transmedicalists (those who believe that being trans is a medical disorder to be treated through hormones and surgery) use the term to exclude trans people who don't have or seek access to medical transition.

Ngl I met a rich millenial once and so much clicked into place.

This guy literally inherited millions of dollars of property, but considered himself a self-made man because he also worked a job that was practically a hobby, completely unnecessary for him.

He also complained that “our generation is so entitled” - because all of his stinking rich friends just got cushy jobs at their parents’ companies. He seriously had no fucking idea that this was a thing exclusive to the rich.

I DESERVE SAFETY: trans girl stuck in covid immigration limbo

i’m a trans girl stranded in a small southeastern european country for the time being due to financial issues and quarantine border shit. after being molested by a security guard at my government-assigned covid hostel, i self-deported from uk due to the hostile environment policy and ended up here pretty much by accident.

the good news is that i’ve taken care of some legal expenses and found myself some much safer housing in the capital city of the aforementioned southeast european country, which is actually cheaper than the frozen mouldy icebox i used to live in. the bad news is i only have a few months left on my visa.

i’m throwing around a few ideas of where to go when that happens, but it’s going to take money no matter what. i’m trying to get to the point where im no longer in immigration limbo and just actually have legal status somewhere and that is going to take money. i’m aiming for $1000 but it’s gonna be more than that between transport rent immigration and legal fees and surgeries and vaccines for my two cats etc

"TERF" stands for trans-exclusionary radical feminist. you might also see "TWERF" for trans woman-exclusionary radical feminism. theyre an offshoot of radical feminism (not half as cool as it sounds) AKA radfems that focus their politics on the supposed "danger" trans women pose to modern feminism. they suck major ass and are disappointingly prevalent in many feminist areas.

some dogwhistles to look out for: extensive use of the world "male" as in "feminism wasn't made for males," referring to people who arent trans rights activists as such or calling them "TRAs," "transgender ideology," and so on. also anything "feminist" that's overly reliant on "biologically female" anatomy, specifically vulvas/vaginas.
