Mates live and die together. When one passes away, the other is bond to follow their mate soon after. This only happens when one of them is killed or has an accident. If not then the mated couples usually live long lives and take their final breath together while sleeping

When both had grown grey and soft, it's time to leave. And Derek is the first to sense the change.

One night he suddenly tells Stiles to take two days off from their usual routine to do whatever they wanted to. They go visit their grandkids, they go to the beach, they eat Stiles' favourite dessert while watching Derek's favorite movie cuddling in the couch. Before they go to sleep that night, Derek cleans the house and steps outside to howl, soft quiet howls answering in the distance.

"What was that one for? Haven't heard you howling in a long time" Stiles asked while getting ready for bed. His movements slow and tired, his strong hands with fragile bones reaching to hug Derek.

"Nothing special, just felt like it"

For some minutes they looked at each other, love reflecting on their faces. Stiles was used to his wolf, he knew something was going on, but if Derek hadn't said something then it was probably not that important

"I love you sourwolf" Stiles murmured before softly kissing Derek. Then he smiled and got comfortable hugging his husband.

When Derek felt Stiles' breath slow with sleep, he smiled and kissed his forehead. His arms holding tightly to the human he had spent his life with.

"I love you Stiles"

Some hours later they took their final breath

Cat-panther has completely taken over :

1) my side of the bed,

2) my covers,

3) my partner.

Cat-tiger and I have been relegated to the small section of the bed, sheet-less under the constant fan's wind.

I was going to say "at least we have each other", but Cat-tiger is Done with the heat and the fan and does not want to be touched by me (weird, but I totally get it).

Edit. I have now also become a foot rest for Cat-panther.

Longtime readers may be aware of how much I relish an excuse to bully a company, so I'm sharing the wealth;

Clothing company Patagonia is currently suing drag queen Pattie Gonia for "irreparable” harm to their brand.

To be clear; Pattie named herself after the region in South America.

So Pattie is asking people to politely ask Patagonia to drop the lawsuit.

I'm extending the invitation to all of you, because suing a drag queen for 'infringement' in the current political cultural landscape is vile. Especially a drag queen who has raised millions of dollars for non-profits, uses her platform to raise awareness for climate activism, and fully aligns with Patagonia's apparent climate-conscious mission statement.

They're claiming they're suing for $1. They're actually asking her to stop using her name, and pay over $1 million in legal fees. They're straight up harassing her.

In contrast, drag queen Jan Sport has a Jansport bag line. It's that easy to just... work with a queen.

Anyway. Be respectful(ish), but feel free to be annoying on Patagnoia's socials, asking them to 'DROP THE LAWSUIT'

#the ending makes me sad #but#what if this is derek #howling at the moon cuz he’s lonely #and stiles is a photographer #who obviously isn’t scared of a wolf #and this becomes a thing every month #derek goes to howl at the full moon and stiles is there too #and finally stiles just tells him to come howl next to him #and derek does #and then follows stiles back to his jeep #and then that becomes a thing #until one day derek shows up as human #and stiles recognizes him immediately #even without the fur #and they take pictures of the moon together #and derek follows him back to the jeep #only Stiles offers him coffee at a diner #and derek accepts #and then it’s happily ever after (tags by @rieraclaelin)
