It does not mean "trigger warning uhhh something". In fact, it means the exact opposite of "trigger warning uhhh something", because you use it with other tags. You write a fucked up fic with extreme violence and gore, you tag it as "extreme violence", "gore" and you tag it with "dead dove: do not eat". You write a fic with emotional abuse, gaslighting and manipulation, you tag it with "emotional abuse", "gaslighting" and "dead dove: do not eat". You write a fic with your extremely niche kink that appeals to like 3 other people and may skeeve out the rest of the fandom, you tag that with your kink and "dead dove: do not eat". It's so people know you really mean the content warnings.

Kill your babies. I always have other people read my work, if it's important. I know what I think I accomplished; rereading it will not work. I will see what I think I accomplished.

I make my students do a peer review before their final draft for all three of the papers I assign. If they don't make it to class the day we do peer review, they have to make an appointment with the academic support center to have an English tutor review it. The peer review is a checkbox of 10% of that assignment's grade.

If you want to become better at something, you ask people on the outside if you are on the right track.

I love this series. I love it so much that once I was done listening to it via the library audio books (despite the reader's hissy Ss that almost made me stop twice*), I bought all of them in physical form. I haven't read the novellas.

I have started the No Other Gods series.

That first book was only the second novel I've finished since grad school... Eleven years ago. Five books! I've read FIVE books in the last five months! I just ordered the available No Other Gods books.

I hate sounding like a groupie, but I am in love with Piper's brain. I had no idea that there was a place to get a master's in folklore. I love her on TikTok. And, having discovered that she is also on here, I feel like a stalker.

*I am sure she is a delightful woman and the rest of her pronunciation and elocution was lovely. I am just sensitive to hissing.
