good news! you can’t make sure that everyone will see the correct colors on their own device, but you can make sure your monitor is as accurate as possible for printing and sharing by calibrating it! 

there are a bunch of free monitor tests, but here’s an easy one you can use. the passmark and eizo tests are also pretty good, though passmark doesn’t work in your browser. be warned that some tests may cause eye strain.

you can either use the settings built into your monitor itself or use the display color calibration settings in your operating system to adjust the settings until everything looks correct, and then enjoy your accurate colors.

While I have everyone's attention, I want to take a moment to talk about supporting independent journalism in Russia.

Since the start of the war with Ukraine, Putin has passed laws banning "Fake News," which is any kind of journalism that does't line up with the official state narrative, even if it's a straight up reporting of objective facts. Journalists have had to choose between career and arrest, and have had fled Russia in droves.

On top of leaving the homes they love, because of sanctions, they are cut off from access to banks or other major financial institutions. One of these journalists happens to be a good, long-time friend of mine, and if I wanted to send him 20 bucks over PayPal, I couldn't, because his account is based in Russia.

The sanctions intended to punish oligarchs are only punishing the creative middle class that makes up the backbone of the anti-Putin resistance, and are barely affecting the oligarchs at all because they're fucking billionaires and money needs nothing to them.

For a long time, Putin has targeted journalists because they are speaking out and revealing the thing that he's most afraid of: the truth. The fight against Putin has been lead by journalists, and it will continue to be lead by journalists.

Hi god I’m sorry to be in this position again but I am so very sick and barely able to function. I’ve been increasingly on the edge of death for months and I was even scanned for encephalitis over spring break but they said they can’t find a thing wrong with my brain. I can barely walk or get out of bed due to pain and nausea and I’m on fioricet literally the entire time that I’m awake now. I have made it to work a total of 3 shifts this year (2022) so far and they were 4 hours shifts so if anyone can spare anything to help me survive the next 5.5 weeks till the end of the semester I’d be so grateful. I need food, prescriptions, and I have basic bills. Thank you.
