A snowstorm has come, forcing all living beings into whatever shelter they can find. A small cliff face; icy, slick, and sharp, leading to the polluted Spring River, large chunks of ice cover it. The full moon fully visible; the stars blotted out by thick light pollution, would reveal an unsettling view. The loud, nearly roaring winds covering the sounds of struggle.
Rattling breaths; forcing unneeded air into lungs that have been filled is polluted water for years. Scratching, clawing; freshly formed talons that were once broken frozen fingers. Frantic scraping, slipping, and dull thuds; new hooves on a body not made for them. Before an inky black, clawed hand appears from below the cliff face. Scrambling for purchase, the five talons lock onto a stable hand hold, before Rain fully pulls himself into view.
Long black to white hair soaked, clinging to his face, and adding the soft tapping of water droplets to his cacophony noise. Goat ears, the same color his hair used to be, fruitlessly trying to flick water off of them. A flat nose, frozen snot and blood still stuck to his face. Three manic, blood-shot eyes snapping to and fro, frozen tears keeping the soft green from fully opening. Hacking, wet, disgusting coughs and hacks come from Rain’s lungs, the wastewater from the river spilling from his mouth with cracked, bleeding, pale blue lips.
With a rage-filled growl he pulls himself up, old pajama shirt ripped revealing numerous small, fresh cuts. Blood sluggishing leaking before turning into a dark, oil-like substance. A brown tail lashes behind him, flinging water around, he tilts his head. A small pause, ear twitching as if listening to something. Shaky arms forcing him to stand, his legs shaking like a new born deer, yet he continues on.
