Witness: How It Should Have Ended.
The sudden contact with the water was cold, unexpected and purely spontaneous.
Clarity could hear her name being called out repeatedly in a panicked manner, but she didn’t care. The weight of her unnecessary temper tantrum clouds the ability to make good choices, but she has trouble with that anyway–so this is no surprise.
She can see the shore, it’s within her own reach–or so she thinks. But it turns out the ability for her to think is clouded as well anyway, but as to be expected, she’s used to it by now.
‘’Clarity! Clarity!’’ Cassian calls out, the lack of a backbone makes his tone seem desperate, pleading, even.
But as always, Clarity just ignores him and continues to wade–unsuccessfully, (she’s never been very good at anything really,–except sexualizing Cassian at the drop of a hat– so she should have known better than to have jumped into the unknown without a life vest on. But it’s a hard, long life without having a brain) towards the shore.
It’s up until then, when she feels a few tentacles wrap around her legs. She looks down to see what could possibly interrupt her epic exit (it looked alot better and less bratty in her head) and sees…an octopus!
‘’Eek’’ she cries out ‘’Cassian help!!!’’ Her arms flail above her head as she just now discovers that this is a terrible idea.
‘’Clarity!’’ He screams, trying to row the boat as fast as he can to where she’s flopping around the water for her last final breath, but by then it’s too late.
She screams one final ‘’Cassian!’’ before descending into the depths of the sea. Gone forever.
‘’Noooo!’’ Cassian cries, as he sees a figure standing by the shore. The mobster guy who is too unimportant for his name to be remembered holds himself up with a smirk plastered on his face, staring smugly at Cassian.
‘’Looks like my job’s already done here’’ He sneers, glancing over to where Clarity just took her final breath.
‘’The one person who I have ever loved is gone’’ Cassian sighs, defeated. His hands cup his face as he starts to sob.
‘’You need higher standards’’ The mobster guy critiques, before turning his back and leaving Cassian there alone on the boat.
Two years later: after countless therapy sessions, a better set of friends, and a healthy boost of self esteem, Cassian found another lover who is much more his type and knows how to treat people. He then married her, and they now live happily ever after in his childhood home!
