My boy is going for World Book Day as Lindon from Cradle. Made him a little Dross to sit on his shoulder 😄 The white hand was a bit of challange to sort out with paint and corn starch.
when i was in therapy i once expressed to my therapist that i really struggle with having pretty much zero idea of who i am as a person + she whipped out a piece of paper and suggested that we write down different aspects of myself. and i had no idea what to say bc ‘myself’ is a concept i’m not very familiar with so she started saying about my interests and how that’s part of me + i was like okay!! that makes sense!! so she clicked her pen and was like “you said you like video games before” and i was like sure bud :) and watched her write down, in capital letters ‘GAMER’ and i’ve never had so much terror struck into my h
Very curious doggo
Reminder that puffins are extremely social and like to fit in with their friends, so they will adopt mannerisms and interests of the group. So there is a good chance this little guy is trying to be friends with the photographer by showing his interest in the camera.
TIL photographers are a lot like puffins, cuz we also make friends by showing interest in your camera XD
Reminds me of the time researchers were trying to get puffins to land in a specific area so the put decoys up to draw them in but the decoys only had 1 leg and
this is so fucking cute

for the last three or four years, my roommate has been collecting trash.
not just any trash, but specifically the packing corners that come in apple computers. he has owned stacks of them, covering the walls of his office.
on september 19, he loaded them all onto a dolly and carted them to the art building on campus, where he create the above display.
mostly he found it amusing. but also he wanted to see if they’d stay up, or if someone would take them down.
it is now october 15. the pieces are still there, but people have begun reorganizing them.
small pyramids adorn benches, little towers sit in corners. the art is changing, moving. and we are sitting her amused and awed, because what even is art, and how did he make it?
cant fucking sleep bc wikipedia has separate lists for vampires and for fictional vampires
Fun Fact, thats, more or less, something that wealthy people in China and Japan did, they were called “musical floorboards.” Designed to squeak when stood upon. A person could make noise all the way down a corridor.
The residents and servants knew which floorboards made a sound and avoided them. But a burglar, or assassin didn’t. If you heard the creaking of floorboards, you knew danger was coming.
Even better, despite what movies may show, a lot of the old west was founded by Chinese immigrants, so there could have been carpenters around who knew how to make the musical floorboards!
They were also called Nightingale Floors, and looking up to make sure I had the right term, I found they were super clever! They were more than just ill-fit boards or whatever makes floors creak normally, they actually used little metal bars under the boards placed into small holes in the boards to cause the creak.

Continuing the fun adventure with fondant :) Due to a limited colour palete the robin ended up being black 😂 also ended up looking more like an angry birds cameo.
A joint effort - OH made brownies and I made the decorations for this year's Christmas teacher gifts.
Second time working with fondant. I was really surprised how similar to clay it is (just a bit more prone to cracking).
