those random food blogs saying that "this food has cancer!" "that food has cancer!" are encouraging eating disorders, and here's why.
first of all, every single food has CANCER, we are literally made of cancer cells (I want more cancer give me all the cancer there is pleas yummmm cancer mmmm tasty)
second of all, they always 'reccomend' some extremely expensive food with basically no nutritional value and then say "it tastes exactly like 'insert food' just healthier!" and it always ends up tasting nothing like that food
last of all, am I saying you should eat unhealthy? NOOO
eat what you want, whenever you want, however you want (of course, if a doctor says you have be more healthy or you're obviously unhealthy then you will have to change your diet)

hey, so I wanted to come on here and talk about some things I keep seeing repetitively on Pinterest, Instagram, Tumblr etc. Whenever I see girls going on about being skinny and eating low calorie meals, those meals are not the best ive seen.
i will come through clean right now, I am a competitive figure skater who does ballet and has developed an ED (starts with an a) and it lead to me having to cut back hours on the things I love to do because I kept having syncopes.
Back to what ive been seeing.
with every 'meal inspo' I saw, it had the reappearing diet soda for the drink.
But why diet soda? Diet Coca-Cola? Diet Pepsi? Why?
Here's my take backed up on proven facts.
Diet. The word we always want to see when we aren't happy with us. Healthy diet. Diet. Diet diet diet. But diet soda? Not what you should drink.
According to Keck School of Medicine of USC, the artificial sweetness-calorie thing mismatch can confuse your brain. Studies show that sweeteners like sucralose (often used in Celcius, Red Bull Sugarfree, Monsters, etc) can increase activity in your hypothalamus (part of your brain that does hunger) and make you more hungry.
Now for the ED loopy kinda thing. Because the brain feels "cheated" out of the energy it was promised, it ramps up intense cravings for high calorie foods later on. In an ED context, this physiological drive actively triggers the binge-restrict cycle, making it a setup for failure rather than a "hack."
This is the first time you basically shoot yourself in the foot.
Since these drinks are using fake sugars and such, it changes your taste buds. So then when you go to eat natural sweets like fruits, it won't taste as satisfying because you're so used to drinking fake stuff.
Second time you shoot yourself in the foot. That must hurt.
But enough about what not to do because no one likes getting told 'NOOOOOUUUUUUUUUWWUHHHHH.' That sucks. Let's do what u could do :>
For me, it took me a while to except food. I didn't like my bone structure and I am naturally on the low end of weight. So i'm here, staring in the mirror, picking myself apart. I kept weighing myself. Eating very little. I saw some change, but it wasn't permanent.
So what was I supposed to do? Decrease food again, increase hours on the ice with more intense workouts?
You probably thought yes.

The body will stay at the weight it feels comfortable at. Doesn't matter if you think you have to lose weight, your body will go fight or flight and keep the fat or whatever.
But think again.

Your weight is all of your organs, bones, muscles, tendons, joints. Everything that makes you a living breathing organism.
You wouldn't be here without that.

Ykw, lemme put some ideas for you in bullet-point form. I, myself, am autistic and very picky about eating, so js... random thing, so if you're autistic or picky or both. here ya go.
cucumber and avocado salad (with salt, pepper and white balsamic vinegar)
cucumber avocado salad but now with soft hard boiled eggs for protein
salad with tofu
Boston lettuce salad with a portion of grilled chicken
but you get the jist? do whats comfortable for you, but still eat.
dont just save pinterest photos of the lifestyle you want--actually get to the life style you want.
baby steps.
clean your room, go through your clothes and donate what you dont like anymore, redo your skincare routine, watch vlog videos, listen to different music.
anything to get you into the vibe of what you want.
just, dont starve yourself or harm yourself. do good. eat good amounts that fuel your body so you can exercise, hang out with friends or whatever. hope this helped and sorry it ended so suddenly: )
