The neurodivergent urge to collapse to the ground and wait for the universe to solve all your problems for you...
i wouldn't describe my feelings towards minecraft alpha monoliths as sexual but its not an entirely normal response I have when i think too hard about them.
I don’t want a “realistic transition goal”, I want to be the type of thing you’d hear about on an episode of the Magnus Archives
I went to noob island and nobody recognized you. They said you haven't been the same ever since you went Pro. Some even said you became Hacker. I don't know who you are anymore.
i dont envy youtuber friendship fallouts like im imagining the times ive had to ditch a toxic ex-friend but with the additional baggage of a) having to maintain some professionalism as a public figure and b) there being hundreds of gay teenagers on the internet who headcanon us as found family and/or lovers. i think i would crash out.
please. Untitled Artwork was my father. call me Untitled Artwork (1)
I need more touch averse characters. Yeah yeah touch starved characters are all fun and all but what about characters who don't want to be touched at all? Characters who dislike the closeness of other people, characters who dislike casual touch, who are uncomfortable with hugs and cuddles-
Characters who others struggle to comfort because a hug just makes thing worse, and people usually use physical touch as a way to comfort each other. Characters who keep getting their boundaries crossed because it's normal to just casually touch people, it's expected a lot of the times, and no one thinks twice about it.
I want more touch averse characters
why don't you calm down and look up the little auk
why don't you calm down. and look at the little auk.
I think a lot of people spent their childhoods being very deliberately forced out of their comfort zones by parents / teachers / whomever in a way that was just deeply unpleasant and degrading and so, when they reach young adulthood and are finally allowed real control over their lives, become set on only doing things they know they're comfortable with forever. that's a really important thing to be able to do, especially if you're so used to having your boundaries routinely ignored that you aren't even certain what you like vs what you can bear, so I absolutely see why a person would have a negative reaction to being told that discomfort is good: it can very easily sound like being told that all that work they've been doing to prioritze their needs for the first time ever is Bad and Selfish, actually. and to that I will say two things:
one: as long as you aren't hurting or, like, being a dick to anyone, just staying in your comfort zone isn't an immoral action. if you just want to read one type of book (or just fanfiction), or just eat one type of food, or just watch one type of movie, or not go to new types of social events, you aren't being a bad person for that, and if people say that, they are soundly wrong and just trying to get a self-righteousness kick.
two: trying new things because you want to expand yourself feels a hell of a lot different than trying new things because you're being forced to. you'll feel better about trying new foods if you know you have a back up familiar one in case you can't stomach the new one, it's easier to read new books if you can experiment with audio versions or reading it in little five-page chunks by yourself, you can breathe a lot easier going somewhere new if you aren't chained there for three hours because your parent is your ride home, etc.
tl;dr: new things are good. I get why you might not want to try new things, and that's fine, but it's also more comfortable to try new things as an adult with your own agency so, yeah, what have you got to lose by trying a weird old art film?
I could beat you to death
HAPPY 3 YEARS GENERATION LOSS TSE ‼️🎂
If you're comfortable accusing anyone of faking disability, you're not a real ally to disabled people
One time when I was a kid a group of girls and I had to treat another student for hypothermia by ourselves because she had so many invisible health issues that the adults we asked for help didn't believe us. The student in question was actively hallucinating. When I finally ran for help the people I grabbed were slow as shit to respond, casually joking about how "dramatic" the person in question was.
The kid was picked up by an ambulance 30 minutes later.
Now as an adult working in security I get SO MANY folks- upper-middle aged mostly- coming to me to 'rat out' people they think are faking it.
I was once sent into a bathroom because a client demanded that the "fucker won't get out, so good drag them out"- I was NEVER going to do that, so I did a wellness check instead. You know who it was? A person recently released from the hospital after a car accident. They had a hole in their skull and major hearing loss. They couldn't answer the owner because they couldn't HEAR the owner.
Another time about a homeless man who got around town by kicking the ground from his wheelchair. "You know he doesn't actually need that thing, his legs work fine, it's just for pity points"- Oh, so he's not paralyzed, his wheelchair is performative? Funny story Dale, I actually know that guy, he was backed over by a truck and has chronic pain from his shattered pelvis. But sure, let's make him stand up and walk everywhere so nobody feels too bad for him and tries to help him or something.
"She doesn't need that scooter, I've seen her get out of it."
"Look how fat he is, because he just rides around and refuses to get up."
"She doesn't really need that cane- she comes here without it all the time"
Sincerely, truly, from the bottom of my heart- as someone who isn't physically disabled but hears this shit all the time- fuck off
As someone who uses a cane sometimes due to chronic pain that flares up & vanishes for various random ass reasons (how I slept, how I was sitting the day before, exercise, the weather, too much standing, too much sitting, gained one pound? Lost one pound??, etc) and can't stand for more than 15min due to an entirely different health issue, I am in constant fear of being called a faker 😩
writing a canon divergent fix-it fic while also shaking my head to show that i actually really like the canon's tragic narrative and am not trying to say i think it would be better if canon was like this
Hey
In case you missed it, scheduled maintenance starts soon.
What will you be doing during our anniversary maintenance?
i genuinely don't think there's much, if anything, hotter than someone clearly having a blast doing something they're really good at. doesn't really matter what it is. the combo of competence and joy is absolutely lethal to me
