And Yelena says deadpan: I know a guy.

And they end up in Steven's house, he's friking out with the avengers there and Yelena says serious: Steve, we need Ivan.

Steven looks at a door, everyone looks at the door too, expecting a guy named Ivan, but when they look back, Steven is suddenly smoking a lit cigar and speaking with a thick Russian accent: Yelena, so long no see you. I guess you need my hacking services

And the avengers are like: wtf Yelena, what is that, we don't have time. We need to find this team.

And Yelena extends her hands: but this is the team. Ivan, we need a driver, is Manuel available

And it's just Steve with Spanish accent. The avengers are losing their shit, Yelena we don't have time, but Yelena smiles and says: can we talk with Marc?

And fucking moon knight shows up and now everyone is like. OKAY THIS IS BIG POTATO WHERE THE FUCK WAS THIS GUY BEFORE.

*deep breath* If the antifascist (esp. American-centered) art you make or consume refuses to acknowledge the truth that framing this time period as the "sudden rise of fascism" along with its supposed volatility (i.e. "it can't last; that's not how its built") is just a comforting construct to keep white Americans from reckoning with their literal centuries of active and passive participation in this country's fascist, genocidal violence against Indigenous and Black people, your art isn't just wrong...it's worthless. How can you imagine dismantling unjust systems without seeing the blood on your own hands? How do you comprehend the size of the fight for mutual liberation without seeing that the scale of the threat is exponentially larger than your personal experience of the danger of state violence; or is your envisioned win condition only as shallow as the return to your previous sense of safety?

Ignoring the complexities and well-established enmeshment of fascism in Western culture for the sake of simpler stories to inspire rising to this moment in history only builds fair-weather fighters ill-prepared for the rigors of revolutionary action. It also widens the rift between those newly awakened to the struggle and their neighbors that have lived it for generations (and have built and maintained systems of community support and resistance that have protected them for just as long).

If antifascist art doesn't first demand you turn the eye inward, it is only escapist fluff.

Murderhelion means so much to me actually. They have a relationship and it's definitely queer but it's not the human definition of romantic or sexual. They are both aroace. They share intimacy through the feed and it feels so natural its basically subconscious. The first thing Perihelion does upon meeting Murderbot is expose its entire code to it, just for an unfathomably tiny amount of time. Murderbot meets Peri and trusts it enough to modify its entire body relatively soon after. Peri sees MB having an Awful time and puts on a show for it without even asking. MB gets captured and Perihelion Immediately trains all of its missiles on the colony it was captured by without hesitation and it takes an entire TEAM of people to talk it down from blowing everything up. Peri will casually jump into MB's mind. It got captured and tortured and its memory gets fucked with and it was shut down and it used every single inch of processing power it had to find Murderbot because it knew it could save it. The two of them have no human label for their relationship but they trust each other so easily that they can become essentially one being when they have to. whatever they have going on is FANTASTIC
