Just floating around like âthe fuck is all this?â
Being against cloneshipping is so funny to me.
Itâs a planet of nothing but men.
Isolated, angry, traumatized, pent up men.
SOMEONE is getting freaky EVENTUALLY, letâs just be realistic
Victory was a quiet ordeal, Nez decided. That one word, that singular objective, was the premise of his very creation.
And after an artificially short lifetime of preparation, it was almost underwhelming.
He waited by the shuttle line as LAART-Is took the wounded ones first, followed by a line of identical brothers in white armor crusted with the grey mud of Felucia and its various fungal patches. He didnât look any different, brand new plastoid armor stained and scratched just after his very first non-simulated operation.
Brothers made a wide berth for the bulkier, katarn kitted Commandos as they clunked by. The Republicâs finest, and totally arrogant shebâuyce, according to some of the more mandoâa savvy regs whoâd had close encounters.
Still, Nez waited.
Waited in a patch of damaged fungus trees littered with white bodies and spindly B1s.
Waited till the commandos were out of sight and one last transport was left.
Waiting till General Tza wordlessly ushered him onto the LAART-I, a quiet and unfamiliar look on her face directed towards him as if she could see beneath his helmet.
It sunk in when he was washed down and back in his bunk.
Nezâs pod would not be coming back.
So 1332 he was, the men who knew his name gone and listed in a report to be forgotten about.
So this was victory.
1332 decided he didnât care for it very much.

Some people arenât going to like this but itâs the truth.
Iâm someone with mental illness. I love many people with mental illnesses, and thereâs something I hear a lot.
âWhy do you ask me if I took my meds when Iâm upset? It invalidates my feelings.â
Iâve got issues with that. Iâve been a support network, and Iâve utilized support networks, and here the deal:
Yes thereâs a toxic version of that question people will abuse, but the majority are asking from a place of care, not because we donât think your feelings are worth attention and energy, but because maybe someone who knows and loves you is recognizing a pattern of behavior you may be unaware of OR theyâre gauging just how ready for a crisis they have to be on your behalf.
Episodes are extremely distressing for the person experiencing them, but theyâre distressing for your loved ones too. Constantly expecting them to not only rise to the same emotional urgency as you while also being calm enough to mitigate your mental health crisis will swiftly become abusive if itâs not nipped in the bud.
Mental illness does not erase the harm your actions cause, or excuse it. It does not become another personâs responsibility, no matter how much they love you and you love them. At the end of the day, your health is in YOUR hands, and itâs only your friends and familyâs job to SUPPORT and LOVE you while you seek care.
Not seeking care, not keeping up with your meds, and not staying in supportive services when you know you have mental illness symptoms that are harmful to others is ABUSIVE when itâs done for any reason beyond a lack of access to these things (which is very valid and very probable if youâre poor, of course)
And no matter what your diagnosis is, anyone can say âhey, this is a lot. Youâve hurt me a lot. And I canât do this anymore even though I love youâ without being a villain.
I hate this culture TikTok started where you canât provide good will feedback on the treatment you receive from others if they have mental health issues. This doesnât benefit us, this only sinks us deeper into a hole that makes it seem as though itâs impossible for us to have thriving and healthy relationships.
Sometimes empowerment is people coming to the rescue, but sometimes itâs you choosing to wake up with your alarm, take your meds, and step away from that argument before it gets ugly.
So when Iâm about to lose it I truly hope a loved one asks me if I took my meds, because I probably fucking didnât.
yes please

Here's the next installment in my endless quest to try and figure out how the heck clone armor works: some range of motion studies! I made some minor adjustments to the squad's armor that trades protection for greater maneuverability and I wanted to see how that works in practice. So I tossed the studies together and made some ref sheets with design notes! đ
What The Clone Wars did was present Duchess Satine Kryze as complicit in a type of genocide (cultural), if not outright commanding its action. People argue that itâs âjust an oversight,â but all that argument does is emphasize a lack of understanding of context, and underlining a privilege that makes one blind to the implications of the show.
Itâs an easy oversight to make when you see yourself in the New Mandalorians already. Itâs an easy oversight to make when you donât care for presenting a diverse societyâbecause one already exists that happens to just not be mandalorian.
And thatâs, ultimately, what happened.
And an oversight is one thing, but what happened with Satine and the New Mandalorians is not just one oversight, alone, in a vacuum. There are multiple layers to the issue that, together, create the environment for racism and whitewashing, and erasure:
making all of the New Mandalorians are a specific type of white (white people come in more variation than just pale, just blond, just blue eyed)
retconning the only prior canon representation of mandalorians (who are not white, and this is important in context) as no longer mandalorian
setting up a precedence within the universe that defines the entire political climate of Mandalore as âanyone not a specific type of mandalorian is exiled / ejected from societyâ
These three things, together, illustrate racism. These three things, together, illustrate whitewashing, and in-universe genocide. Isolated, individually, theyâre pretty bad alone, but theyâre small things. But these three things together, and they cannot be separated because of how deeply intertwined they are in the show and the canon universe of star wars, presents a clear and obvious act of racism and whitewashing.
And, to be honest, declaring the Fetts as not mandalorian was unnecessary. It was racist. It was whitewashing â by making mandalorians as a people defaulted to white and only white (at the time of the show).Â
To ignore this is to ignore the racialized violence inherent in that retcon. A group of people in a position of militaristic and political power stripped a nonwhite man and his son of their cultural heritage and identity.Â
The races of the sides involved matter. It matters because itâs reflective of racism in the real world, regardless of the intent behind these actions.
Bringing up Legends to combat canon is nonsensical, because Legends has no bearing on anything, anymore. But even worse: bringing up Sabine and her family as an argument against racism also doesnât work.
Sabine Wren, and the entire Clan Wren, are all Death Watch. Satine Kryze exiled Death Watch, and bringing them up only highlights the racialized violence Satine Kryze committed: exiling a group of mandalorians who do not look nor act nor adhere to a narrow definition of what is mandalorian according to New Mandalorians.Â
Iâve mentioned this before but this is why Dave & George & Disneyâs ârightful Mandâalorâ plotlines in TCW/Rebels/The Mandalorian/TBOBF (and now the erasure of Boba Fett after TBOBF flop) are so hard to stomach for a lot of pre-Disney SW fans.
This is why I always defend Mandalorian Jango Fett, Boba Fett, and Fett clones.
Jesse Harlin literally, SPECIFICALLY created Mandoâa for the Fett clonesâs âancestral language.â
Jango and Boba went from Mandâalore with rich, complex backstories to evil, petty criminals overnight. Purely for aesthetics, spite for fans, and to uplift new characters.
They erased any claim the Fetts had to a diverse culture, and most of the newer fandom went with it! And they still do! They defend this shit with their whole chests!
From an indigenous perspective I hated Satine BECAUSE she so perfectly represents white liberalism for me. High profile displays of intense âmoralityâ and strong arming being valued over the real preservation and abundance of a cultureâs history and values is a real issue, and it was well illustrated by how she went about ârevitalizingâ Mandalore and turning it into something unrecognizable, deeming all elements of honor found through hardship that was so valued by the people drawn to the Creed as backwards and barbarian.
Do I think violence is always the answer? No. But as someone from a community ripped apart and heavily affected by colonialism, I will say itâs a right for the oppressed. And mandalorians are known to be the safe haven and family for those whoâd either lost everything, OR wanted to protect that which they had.
Her push for pacifism wasnât out of a desire for peace, but rather for control, pushing the values and principles that guided trusted leaders in that community into a space where they were no longer deemed suitable leaders.
She made Death Watch what it was, she was just as much an extremist.
That shit she pulled with the Fetts is something so many disconnected indigenous people can identify with.
