Harry Potter Book 2, chamber of secrets - plot problems, characterization and our favorite and least favorite things about the other Weasleys.
In this episode we continue our discussion with Sookie Stackhouse part 2. Dawn and I talk about the second book. What was originally one long episode...
Dawn and Amanda fight over what Amanda calls the "first twilight" - sookie stackhouse book 1 - the book series basis for the True Blood TV series.
Dawn and Amanda have both used essential oils for a couple years and they share their favorite recipes, uses, companies and experiences.
Amanda and Dawn tackle the huge topic which is their many hobbies. Mainstream or not, they talk about crocheting to fanfiction, gardening and canning.
Dawn and Amanda are going to be re-reading through the entire original Harry Potter Series. They start on book one, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone.
Dawn and Amanda go to ColossalCon. We talk about the best and worst parts and the cosplays we made and then go randomly off topic as usual.
Dawn and Amanda decided that as their show concept started out as a book review podcast, they should probably actually review a book. They picked one of their favorites by Brandon Sanderson. Mistborn: The Final Empire. This is book 1 of the Original (Era 1) Mistborn Trilogy. In this episode, they focus on the first book of his mistborn series. Or try to.
Summary of the Book: High Fantasy. Strong Female Lead. Bits of Romance. Action. Cool Magic Systems. Awesome and a favorite.
THIS WILL CONTAIN SPOILERS FOR THE ENTIRE MISTBORN TRILOGY.
The first of the trilogies (Era 1), the ‘original’ trilogy, is the story of Vin a street thief and Kelsier, a crewleader, and their quest to overthrow their god, the Lord Ruler, and the Final Empire.

Note: Apologies!
Sorry I am doing a massive upload of content. I’ve been out with shingles for the last two weeks. I’m sure I’ll have an episode on that experience. But until then we have 2 new blogs and 1 new, 1 old podcast up for you all to enjoy!
Dawn and I are attending Colossalcon (Sandusky, OH June 4th). We’ll be cosplaying for the first time so we should have some cool episodes coming up!
Amanda talks about her creative heroes-- favorite podcaster Kat Kuhl and her favorite author Brandon Sanderson -- and what she loves about them.
There are two people who have made an big impact on me as a person and writer. I consider myself more of a writer than a podcaster/blogger. However, become a writer professionally has always been and remains my dream. The two people who have made an impact on me are Kat (Murphy) Kuhl [ @wolvesarekuhl ] and Brandon Sanderson [ @brandonsanderson ]. For very different reasons, I love them both.
Amanda talks about how speech outline tip to prepare for speeches, both impromptu or prepared. And ties it to her favorite hobby of RPG tabletop gaming.
Episode 7: Migraines & 14 Days
Dawn and Amanda, with their guest Shannon, play a game of 14 days and talk about migraines. This is the first of their episodes where they seek to learn more about conditions that people suffer from. Also, this episode is a personal one for Amanda.
The game is called 14 days and as the game says, it is a story telling game meant to communicate some aspects of migraines and chronic pain that are often overlooked. 14 Days is a game that Kickstart designed and was created by Hannah Shaffer (@hanbandit ) and it is about living life with Migraines. You can get it through their siteMakeBigThings.com. Backstory Podcast just did an interview with Hannah a few weeks back (link here).
Also, one of my favorite podcasts, OneShot Podcast, did a long play-through of the game, which I highly recommend. (Link here). @oneshotpodcast

Episode 6 & 5B
Episode 6: Censorship -- > http://alittlesquirrelly.com/episode-6-censorship/
Episode 5B: Representation in Anime --> http://alittlesquirrelly.com/bonus-representation-anime/
Dawn and Amanda discuss censorship. They talk about what actions by who makes censorship, talk again about author’s rights and ratings on video games and movies in the context of censorship. They sidetrack themselves into a conversation on personal freedoms and rights. Also, Dawn spends much time trying to pronounce censorship right.
The bonus episode bit is a 7 minute segment where we talk about Anime in the context to a lot of the topics we’ve already discussed.
We have 6 great episodes up and for each one I created a tile to represent the episode with a starting quote. They’re all available here! Check us out on ALittleSquirrelly.com
Welcome to my gardening journey! Follow along as I learn how to grow my own food and document my progress along the way.
Amanda loves RPG Tabletop gaming, and now she's combining RPGs with one of the only video games she can semi-competently play, Minecraft.
Episode 5: Representation
http://alittlesquirrelly.com/episode-5-representation/
Dawn and Amanda talk about Representation in media. What is a good amount of representation, too much or too little? Should an author feel like they have to alter their work? Should we stay true to the author’s written word when creating movies or plays?
