@abowlofcurry
so many unread books on my shelf. unsure which to start first so ill just read nothing
This is easily one of the CRAZIEST videos I've ever gotten. I was rafting down a river when a Yellow Jacket came, landed on my bright pink waterproof phone pouch, and started drinking from the water droplets that had gathered there.
The most amazing part is how the water droplet magnifies the Hornet's mouth parts, so you get to see them up-close!!!! It was FASCINATING to witness!
Here's some of my favorite still shots from that video:
What do you think? š„°

5001 being divisible by 3 doesnt feel right
Shortcuts to determine if an integer is divisible by:
This is a given.
If the last digit is divisible by 2 (a.k.a. even), then so is the whole number.
If the sum of the digits is divisible by 3, then so is the whole number. The recursivity of this means that if the sum has multiple digits, you can add them up again until you get a single digit and see if it's 3, 6, or 9.
Like the rule for 2, but check if the last two digits are divisible by 4.
If it ends in 5 or 0.
If the rules for both 2 and 3 apply.
No shortcut. Alas.
Like the rules for 2 and 4, but check if the last three digits are divisible by 8. (Yes, this pattern keeps going for 16, 32, etc.)
Like the rule for 3, but the sum of the digits (or the sum of the sum of the digits, etc.) must be 9.
If it ends in 0.
#THIS POST IS WRONG 7 DOES HAVE A RULE FOR HOW TO TELL IF THE NUMBER IS DIVISIBLE#it's just. not a short cut#you're better off dividing it and seeing if you get a whole number than doing the method
but what IS the rule @anqelbean ???
Okay, so, basically, you remove the least important digit of the number (which is the first digit from the right), you double it, and then subtract it from the remaining number. If the number you get is still large, you do it again.
For example, 294
29 4
4Ć2=8
29-8=21
21 is divisible by 7
Second example, 1946
194 6
6Ć2=12
194-12=182
182 is still large, so let do it again
18 2
2Ć2=4
18-4=14
14 is divisible by 7

Hello why can't I get the 36 pack of Jinny Dean sauceages any more from the amazong? This web sight is sobbroin why isn't any help?? Āæ hello?"]
maomaoās dedication to ignoring jinshiās real identity is truly inspiring. the woman who has solved multiple murders based on minor clues in the environment keeps looking at every sign pointing to jinshi being royalty and going ādamn, this could add up to something. good thing I canāt do math!ā
the even funnier part is she genuinely has ALL the clues...
not to flirt or anything, but iād educate myself on your interests just so we could talk about them.

You ever hear that old chestnut about how most people neglect the part of the story of Icarus where he also had to avoid flying too low, lest the spray of the sea soak his feathers and cause him to fall and drown? You ever think about how different the world would be if Icarus died that way instead? If the idiom was to Fly To Close To The Sea? A warning against playing it far too safe, about not stretching your wings and soaring properly? You ever think about how Icarus died because he was happy?

I don't care about Avatarian, but the way some of you are calling it "anti-Asian" or "not connected to real culture" is showing your ass
Replacing Chinese characters with a system of your own devising, which has consonant and vowel symbols combined into syllable blocks, is one of the proudest cultural accomplishments of Korea!
like, i don't know if that they definitely *were* inspired by Hangul, but it would make sense, it's pretty famous in conlanging circles
I think it's less likely that they were inspired by Pahawh Hmong but that's another neat historical example of making up your own script so I wanted to link it too :P
If you watch the panel, Bryan says directly he was inspired by Hangul and they chose to make a new writing system after discussions with their cultural consultants, that using Chinese didn't fit so well given how diverse their cultural inspirations range.
