i know summer's always empty at my job bc there's way less students on campus but also. ppl should watch movies w me

#probably a good thing no one has shown up today bc i am hungover at my job (wasn't scheduled to be here until monday)#but i get So Bored if i have no one to talk to for hours. and my movie events do keep my attention #tho it does always throw me off when im watching movies alone at my job & get paid for it & get credit for how many events i plan #today is a last minute double feature of La Cage aux Folles (1978) & The Birdcage (1996) bc i had 30 mins to plan and its pride month #also. something i think abt constantly is that i never got accused of being a workaholic at a job until this current one #bc socializing with queer ppl and planning movie events went from something i do for fun to something i do as a work task #and it always throws me off. like i used to get in trouble for being a slacker at like every other place ive worked #p

there’s a cineplex ‘before the show’ thing that always cracks me up, because it features different types of annoying movie theatre people. like “don’t be a Tommy Texter. don’t be a Susie Seat Kicker.” but recently they’ve made a push for diversity and included a nonbinary person, and it just makes me smile because the motivation behind it is sweet but the actual textual messaging is “we acknowledge that nonbinary people can also be annoying in movie theatres.”

the real subplot to the fanfic im reading rn is the authors notes thatve made it increasingly clear that me & the author lived in the same area & went to the same university around the same time & their major was the minor i was studying before i dropped out back in 2019

#this like. feels surreal. the university hasnt been directly named #but every single context clue (general location. unique features of the school. department names) makes it extremely clear #and i do keep having to ask myself if we had classes together bc its like. entirely possible based on the details theyve written #and i like extra didnt expect this when reading a ted lasso fanfic #p
