Jewish Book Month
Today is the first day of Jewish Book Month! I made this little graphic for it including some book suggestions across a variety of genres in case you need help starting a TBR.
The first pic is just romances, and the second one is many genres, including general fiction.
This is by no means a comprehensive list, but I encourage you to include a book by a Jewish author in your reads this month!

thereās only one free palestine movement worth mentioning. itās the only one with the real potential to actually free palestine from the actual demon holding it captive. today, unlike all the pathetic, attention seeking at most, worldwide demonstrations, the people of gaza found the bravery to actually protest publicly and unmasked, in an attempt to free gaza, their gaza. it was one of those moments that will go down in the history books, that you just know youāre watching history being made. unlike all of the so called āpro palestineā demonstrations worldwide, when the people of gaza risked their lives today to have a voice, they mentioned that who they need to be freed from was actually hamas. their brave protest on the streets of gaza, was very loud and very clear and very much against hamas. not israel, not the IDF, not the west, not the US, not anyone, just Hamas. hamas for ruining their lives, abusing them, tormenting them, constantly risking their lives and holding it captive.

reports say that the protest was possible due to the israeli military presence. hamasā people didnāt go to terrorize and shut it (and freedom of speech) down, its own people into submission since they were afraid to be spotted by the IDF and eliminated.
yet for some reason so very few have discussed it here. havenāt seen one person that identifies from the āpro palestineā movement mention it. why? because it clashes against that narrative of the palestinian people being those miserable z class people who need their patronizing western saviors to speak for them and save them. i can only imagine how discouraging it can be when youāve been protesting for so long and BAM they find a voice and direct the blame to literally their own people, their so called āgovernmentā, than simply the jews again.
I just saw a blog that had a pinned post and among their descriptors they wrote the following:

Could you have done anything to stop others in your circle from talking over Jews, dehumanizing Jews (that includes Jewish Israelis, because itās always the Jewish ones that are being dehumanized in particular), calling Jews the ārealā nazis (that goes for any Jew), engaging in denial about Jewish ethnic origins (ie: calling all Jews āwhite,ā ignoring the centuries of oppression and expulsion of Jews from MENA countries, denying that we come from the Levant, etc), calling Jews āziosā (a nazi slur), immediately dismissing Jews who call out leftist antisemitism because they must be a zionist and therefore their claim must invalid, and so on?
If you care at all about Jews, you would do well to ask yourselves these questions, because this is just a small sample of the barrage of antisemitism weāve all had to deal with over the last year and half.
If you donāt, if you proudly engage in the sort of behavior I listed above, if you blatantly ignore Jews speaking out about these issues - or worse yet, harass them and add them to public block lists (what could go wrong with a list full of Jews?) - you have fallen into nazi rhetoric. You are engaging in nazi behavior. You are no better than those who ignored or rejoiced at our genocide. Some of you are even proudly rejoicing now -or following people who are - about 1200 of us getting raped, tortured, and slaughtered, and 60+ getting kidnapped (and subsequently also raped, tortured and slaughtered). As long as a Jew is also an Israeli (and itās always Jewish Israelis specifically, never other Israelis), we are not people to you. If you make exceptions for the mass-slaughter of our people, as long as they are of a nationality you hate, we are not people to you. If your immediate reaction to me saying all this is to run to my profile and hunt for (non-existent) evidence that I want Palestinians dead (I donāt) or that Iām okay with Israelās actions (Iām not) so that you can pat yourself on the back and dismiss me because this whole thing about Jew hate is all a bit too inconvenient for you, we are not people to you.* You are no friend to Jews. You are no friend to your Jewish friends - that is, if you have any left at all, or had any to begin with.
*PS: maybe also think about why I - like the person I referred to in the beginning of this post - felt the need to defend myself in parentheses in this sentence, lest non-Jews believe me to be a ābad Jew.ā

I think at this point we simply must accept the truth, which is that no Percy Jackson adaptation or sequel will better understand the assignment than The Lightning Thief musical. solidly 70 percent of the plot happens in one (1) song and the entire rest of the musical is dedicated to The Themes and The Characters and The Relationships and, of course, The Cycles. plus it fucking slaps. 20/10, no notes, perfect understanding and interpretation of the source material
