Here’s some more details for the AU. TW: Child abuse
The night of Vaggies 18th birthday was a very big occasion. All the sins, the hellish nobility and some of the more respectable overlords like Zestial were invited. Lilith also ensured high ranking hell born were invited as she found them better company than many Goetia as did Lucifer. Charlie and Vaggie after greeting enough people they’d never met and given polite dances to, snuck out to the gardens. Here they reminisced about the years they’d spent as friends then lovers. At this point they both make excuses to turn away to grab the rings they’ve brought. Vaggie had a gold ring that looks like a serpent eating its own tail with a red apple shaped ruby, while Charlie has a silver ring engraved with wings and a pink diamond. They both turn to see the other holding their rings. They simply smile and say yes. That’s unfortunately when Lucifer portalled them back to the ball room to have their big dance of the night. So he placed them in the centre of the centre of the dance floor with everyone watching. Though once everyone sees them on their knees each holding ring boxes. The room goes silent as everyone waits to hear the answer. When they both looked up to see themselves in the ball room surrounded by all the guests and their family watching, they decide to get it over with and reveal they both said yes. The ballroom goes ballistic and they spend the rest of the night getting congratulations from their guests and family as the birthday party becomes an engagement party.
Vaggie and Lilith helped Charlie see that even if she couldn’t stop the exterminations she could at least make things better for her Hellborn citizens. So when she and Vaggie were 16 they along with Lilith convinced Lucifer that they should open hospitals in all the rings not just in Sloth as it not only made it difficult for the majority of hells people to get access to medical care but put unfair strain on Belphegor. Plus unlike the sinners they didn’t do anything but be born here. Lucifer agreed but said the other sins needed to agree.
Bel agreed as it meant less stress on Sloth as the sole healthcare provider for hell and less work for her. Bee and Ozzy agreed cause they gave a damn about their people and wanted them to be safe. Satan Vaggie convinced by pointing out she grew stronger after being injured after proper care and is now his best pupil, that won him over. Mammon they pointed out he could make a lot of money from selling the hospitals stuff so that got his ok. Leviathan they pointed out he could usurp Sloth with envy being home to the best hospitals or at the very least the best medical schools, despite knowing they were playing with him his sin required him to agree.
When it was announced Lucifer made sure it was known that Lilith, Vaggie and Charlie were the ones who convinced him, with his daughter and his partner being the ones who convinced the sins to agree. This made them both very popular with the hellbirn and spent the next year receiving thank you letters plus the number of children born in hell named Charlie/Charlotte and Vaggie grew with the names being popular amongst hell horns by the start of the show.
Charlie and Vaggie are also active philanthropists in hell. The two of them fund multiple charities, orphanages, schools and similar places that help the less fortunate throughout hell. These acts of charity make them very popular among the hellborn.
Vaggie after she turned 18 decided that hell needed an answer to to the exorcists if heaven decided to break the rules. She recruited sinners who’d died during the many wars on earth. As the exterminations hadn’t started yet there were a large number of these sinners. They included soldiers of the armies of the ancient Middle Eastern empires of Babylon, Akkadians and Persia, along with Greek Hoplites, Roman legionnaires, along with the soldiers of the many Chinese empires and kingdoms. Many of them were happy to have something to serve rather than petty overlords and squabbles.
She also found success with knightly orders like the Knights Templar, the Teutonic Knights etc. they had learned to live with the fact they had failed to uphold their faiths teaching and deserved to be damned. When Vaggie an actual angel came offering them a chance to serve they agreed happily as they saw it as a way to potentially redeem themselves.
Vaggie also recruited more modern soldiers who died in say the napoleonic wars and the American revolution. She had strict standards and while she could understand every era had different standards but she had some strict lines she wouldn’t cross in recruitment. She named her new army the legion of the damned. Unlike other sinners members of the legion are allowed to leave pride and many live in the other rings. The legion is considered one of the deadliest groups in hell and no one thinks to screw with them. This is thanks to their experience on earth plus the fact sinners are hard to kill and the fighting they’ve done in hell make them very effective killers.
Its leaders are comprised of some of greatest human generals in hell e.g. Alexander the Great, Caesar, Charlemagne, Hannibal Barca, Sun Tzu etc.
Vaggie uses the legion whenever she has to take out people causing trouble in hell. In one night she and the legion wiped out 5 overlords and their gang without a single loss, it’s called the night of the 5 massacres.
Vaggie never got a chance to really explore her feminine side in heaven. Everything about the exorcists had to be functional down to their hair always short. She was always envious of the fact Sera would always wear a beautiful flowing dress whenever she came to visit the recruits.
When she arrived in hell it was her first chance at being to explore her more feminine side. Lilith walked into her room after she’d recovered enough staring at a dress they’d given her still wearing her sleep clothes. Vaggie told her she didn’t know how to wear it. Lilith proceeded to ask her about if she ever wore a dress before and was not happy when she found out how they’d treated her. She ran her a bath and began to work on her hair as she noticed it was dull. She brought a number of her own hair care products to figure out which ones would work for Vaggie. After wards she helped her put on the dress. Afterwards Vaggie couldn’t believe she looked so beautiful, Lilith let her know she always was she simply never saw it, Charlie who was watching from a crack in the door agreed internally. Vaggie was so overwhelmed she started crying and hugged Lilith who returned it and shushed the poor girl while stroking her hair.
After that Lilith had the tailor make her an entire wardrobe after measuring her. She, Vaggie and Charlie like to have nightly parties where they do their hair, try on new dresses and make up. It started for a way for Vaggie to get more comfortable with exploring her feminine side then it became a bit of fun for the Morningstar ladies.
Vaggie loves wearing dresses whenever she can. She’s even learned how to fight in them effectively so she can be gorgeous and an asskicker.
She’s never thrown out any of her dresses despite change in styles as she treasures them since they were gifts from family or friends.
She liked Charlie’s emo phase as she thought it was cute her attempts at being dark and gloomy. Vaggie dressed similarly so she wasn’t alone, Charlie didn’t say it at the time as she thought it was a very sweet gesture, plus Vaggie looked good in black.
Charlie doesn’t mind wearing dresses for leisure but prefers suites for business though she’ll wear dresses when on dates as Vaggie loves seeing her long legs.
The only time Charlie had ever joined Vaggie on a mission at least where she was killing without mercy is known as the lament of the goetia. The wives were out for a walk after nearly 15 years of marriage after a lovely meal. They stopped when they heard sniffling and crying from coming within an alley they were passing. The two of them went in to discover a succubi no older than 12 crying her eyes out covered in dirt trying to make herself as small as possible. When Charlie tried to approach her the guy stop making noise but the tears came out even harder and something that enraged and broke their hearts was how the young girl crossed her legs as tightly as possible meaning only 1 thing.
They stayed in that alley for 4 hours keeping their distance but close enough for her to know they were still there. Once she understood they didn’t want to hurt her she slowly crawled over to Charlie before throwing herself into the princesses arms letting out a heartbreaking cry as she realised she was finally safe with people who didn’t want to hurt her. Charlie and Vaggie made sure to get permission before touching her and carrying her home the poor thing falling asleep. They called Belphegor and let her know it was urgent. Bel came and after using a spell to keep the girl asleep she performed an examination. Bel rather disgustedly reveal based on the description of how she acted and the physical signs she had been undergoing long periods of sexual abuse. Even though they already guessed it, still it broke the couples hearts as well enraging them.
As the dress the girl wore was for only the wealthy they guessed it was some rich asshole who’d done it. Rather than force the kid to relive the trauma Vaggie and Charlie used a spell that let them see her memories. What they saw made them realise they would need therapy for a while but they discovered who was behind this. A duke named Slaanesh hosted parties that would make Jeffrey Epstein jealous. The girl, Melody, belonged to the dukes wife rather than him. They told Bel to summon the other sins to the palace along with their King and Queen for a meeting asking her stay and keep melody safe. When Bel asked where they were going they simply said they were taking out the trash.
The Blade and the princess arrived at the Dukes estate to discover he was having another party. This made them want to kill him more. They kicked in the door to the ballroom where the party was being held. The Goetia within the room froze as not only was the Blade of the Morningstar here but her wife the crown princess was too in full demon form and were both armed. Vaggie threw her spear and gutted the duke, while Charlie used her pitchfork to impale then toast the duchess alive. The rest knew they were fucked.
The enraged blade and princess killed every single one of them in barely 15 minutes. They turn their attention to the staff preparing to do the same till the both of them notice none of them are running and each have a blank look in their eyes. Charlie on a hunch suggests they use the memory spell on them. To their horror they discover the staff are all the grown up victims of the duke and his compatriots. When asked why they stayed, the answer is they were too scared and simply too broken to leave. Charlie and Vaggie offer to help them but the staff believe they’re simply too broken plus the fact they allowed the atrocities they went through to happen to others make them feel undeserving of mercy. They tell them were to find the children and the dukes documents which will let them find out where he’s been getting them along with others who are involved. The servants simply ask that they kill them due to their guilt and trauma at what they saw and happened to them didn’t wish to live anymore. Charlie tried to convince them but Vaggie simply told her it wouldn’t do anything, so with a heavy heart the princess went to free the children while her wife gave the staff peace.
After getting the kids and proving they wouldn’t hurt them along with the Dukes documents they burnt the estate to the ground as it was forever tainted by what had happened within. They took the kids to their mansion. There Bel put them to sleep. The sin also told them that it would likely take years of intense therapy to help the children recover from the trauma but many likely never would so Bel suggested they simply erase the memories of what happened to them to ensure they weren’t traumatised. While they normally wouldn’t agree Charlie and Vaggie felt it was warranted here. After the spell the kids including Melody had no idea where they were or remembered anything that happened with the Duke to their relief. After making sure the kids were ok Vaggie went to the meeting with the sins while Charlie stayed with the kids.
At the meeting Vaggie presented their evidence and let’s just say shit got heated. Ozzy, Bee, Bel, Lucifer and Lilith wanted to hunt down every fucker listed on the dukes papers and make them suffer. Satan got involved cause he wanted to kill something. Mammon and Leviathan agreed to help but that was about it. Vaggie returned to see Charlie using her powers and singing to cheer the kids up which made her smile. They made sure those that could were returned to their families and those that couldn’t were sent to good families where they could be happy. Charlie and Vaggie also had all the properties of the Goetia involved sold off and their wealth confiscated to be placed into funds for each of their victims to access once they turned 18. The vast majority wound up leading happy safe lives much to the princess and her wife’s joy. Melody was adopted by a loving succubi couple and grew up to be a child psychologist, Vaggie and Charlie are still close to her family. Everyone involved in the trafficking and abuse was hunted down and killed without mercy. They still tell stories about it through hell today, a reminder why you don’t screw with the daughter of the Morningstar or her wife.
Vaggie has added more angelic weapons to her personal armoury. She carries a Bowie knife, a pair of pistols and a scoped rifle. This is to ensure she’s prepared for many situations.
The year charlie stops being goth. Vaggie almost drops her cause, she looks really cute in that suit, and now she's kinda bubbly and sweet and omg

Vaggie: (swooping as usual) "Charlie!?"
Charlie: "Huggles!"

Vaggie: "No you don't. That first year you didn't even know I existed, and you still threw yourself off the roof. Pointlessly."
Charlie: "To be fair it would've been pretty pointy if I'd landed on the spiked railing ten floors down..."
Vaggie: "And you would've gotten back up from that with only bruises, miss Morningstar, it would have made a mess and hurt a little and that's it. Pointless."
Charlie: "I know~"
Vaggie: "It’s a waste of my time AND yours.”
Charlie: “I don’t think so? You could never be a waste of my t-”
Vaggie: “It is a waste! These stupid stunts are just you publicly protesting the extermination by trying to catch the eye of someone up in heaven!"
Charlie: "And I did, didn't I?"
Vaggie: "No you didn't and you never will-"
Charlie: "I caught you."
Vaggie: "..."
Charlie: "…everything you just said? I finally realized it last year. Took a while but, it finally clicked and, it kinda changed everything for me. You know?"
Vaggie: "No." (lands on clocktower) "I should go."
Charlie: (playing with vaggie's mask) "Why'd you catch me that first year, scary lady exorcist?"
Vaggie: "That's not my name."
Charlie: "You knew who I was. The fall wouldn't kill me."
Vaggie: "Do you want me to drop you."
Charlie: "Why did you care?"
Vaggie: "I don't care- I just didn't let you fall."
Charlie: "Why?"
Vaggie: "What do you mean why? I'm an exorcist, an angel not a demon. I'm here to punish the souls of sinners, not to- not to BE like them."
Charlie: "But you haven't been punishing them for years."
Vaggie: "Yes I have. By keeping you out of the way of my sisters-"
Charlie: "I looked you up in the registers of heaven since last time. They're public records, did you know? Anyone in hell can check how many sinners an angel's killed. It's a warning I guess, and you... You're one of the best killers the exorcists have, aren't you?"
Vaggie: "How could you look me up. You don't have my name and THOSE are most certainly NOT listed in hell."
Charlie: "The "winner's streak" tally board has a mug shot of each of you on it, along with your kill count. Finding you wasn't hard. Every exorcist's mask looks a little bit different and I've doodled yours often enough."
Vaggie: "You what?"
Charlie: "ARE you one of the best exorcists?"
Vaggie: "Yes. I average five hundred per cleansing. Clearly hunting down sinful souls isn't a problem for me."
Charlie: "Right. And how many sinners do you think I save every year?"
Vaggie: "I don't know."
Charlie: "If it was enough to matter, or even just ONE, do you think I would have stopped doing it long enough to have climbed heaven's tower in the first place?"
Vaggie: "What does that matter."
Charlie: "You aren't helping anyone kill sinners when you keep an eye on me like this."
Vaggie: "I would be out there with my sisters right now if it wasn't for you."
Charlie: "But you're not."
Vaggie: "And who's fault is that?"
Charlie: "Yours."
Vaggie: "Your highness, this is stupid-"
Charlie: "You don't like killing people, do you?"
Vaggie: "Like it? No. Who could… But sinners have earned it."
Charlie: "I don't think so. I don't you did either."
Vaggie: "Don't group me with them. I'm nothing like them and not suffering down here in hell."
Charlie: "You're in hell right now though."
Vaggie: "For ONE day and only out of duty, to protect heaven. Your dashing new bowtie is tied on too tight, princess, it's constructing the blood flow to your head."
Charlie: "No other angels ever come here, only exorcists."
Vaggie: "Of course no one else comes here why would anyone-"
Charlie: "So what did you do to land yourself the job murdering souls for all eternity?"
Vaggie: ".... I chose duty."
Charlie: "That's what I thought, but." (whispering) "You've been ignoring that duty and your spear the whole time we've been talking..."

The year is 2042. OKAY BUT WAIT. This has happened to me. Recently. Because I am old and I have things out there from previous fandoms with previous pseuds and one day my teenager begins a rant at me about people never finishing any WIPs on the pit of voles (which he does not call the pit of voles because he has No Knowledge of such a thing but yet he still reads on which I didn’t think anyone did any longer) and he points out an example to me of something I WROTE AND LEFT WIPing for ages and he has NO IDEA #1 that his mom wrote this and #2 How much it still haunts me to this day that it will. sit. there. for. eternity. because I am too lazy to pull it down.
i cried a little bit today. it's the beginning of pride month, and watching a video about the owl house made me realize how INCREDIBLY IMPORTANT that show is. like, it finally downed on me.
we have a latina protagonist, with a darker skin tone, who likes both boys AND girls, and has a crush on this other little witch who also likes girls. and they're the main couple. THE MAIN COUPLE. on a DISNEY show. not side characters, not just an implied non confirmed crush, no. we see it all. we see them blush, ask each other out, share their past with each other, share their first kiss. we get actual development of a MAIN SAPHIC COUPLE!! that's INCREDIBLE. it's ACTUALLY DEVELOPED. Not just thrown out there on the last season with no development at all (all representation is important tho, don't get me wrong).
it's literally so important for kids to see this. to see two girls holding hands, explicitly saying they're dating, kissing. it's incredibly important to show them that it's okay. but it's also important for the parents, to see that hey, maybe they've been wrong about some things. a sense of acceptance, a new perspective on the world... i wish i got that. you know?
it also makes me extremely emotional the fact that: cartoons like adventure time, svtfoe, gravity falls, regular show, and etc have been part of my childhood, of my generation's childhood. these cartoons have marked us, changed our senses of humor, the ways we see the world, have made us laugh and are now nostalgic for us. “remember gravity falls?” “oh yeah, it came out when i was seven. i still love it!”
and now — now cartoons like the owl house, shera, amphibia, dragon prince, they'll ALL mark the NEXT generation. these incredible, representative, fun, beautifully animated cartoons, will shape other children just like the cartoons i mentioned before did for us. and that makes me so, so happy. it's a weird feeling, this proud sensation deep in my chest that makes me wanna bawl my eyes out in the best way possible. there's couldn't be any better medias for the next generation than these.
so thank you. thank you to every single person who's fought for our rights, to the creators of shows like this, to the animators, everyone. happy pride. <3
You know? While is most probably true that the reason the owl house got cancelled was because all the gay representation, I had seen people who actually resent lumity because “it killed the show”
And look, I am not going to say lumity is the entire reason the show is asom (my focus may be ships but believe me I had been gushing with other people about this show’s strenghts since episode 1) or the show would be ruined if they waited until the last episode, but it still part of the reason is so special, and I’m dying on that hill.
It took me forever to watch the show for personal reasons, and while at some point I thought of watching the series and blocked the tag, even then I heard how lumity was canon.
At first, I believed it was what other shows had done; have something that could read as romantic (like blushing or similar) and people were happy because is not like we could get anything else until a finale (if lucky), right?
So when I started the show I knew about the ship, but didn’t think it would go deep enough that I wouldn’t need to make headcanons and fanfics to compensate.
We go to prom, where we get the confirmation that Amity wanted to ask Luz out, and I was surprised they went that way, but I still thought “Well, it could be interpreted as she wanted to go with her a friend, that reason could make it ambigious enough that no one would raise a fit”
Look, don’t get me wrong, I know how hard so many people working on certain shows had worked on getting the slightest of crumbs, and how normally they needed to fight to get a confirmation in the finale. I was there when Korra aired the final season, and how while the ending was sweet, it was ambigious enough the creators needed to confirm it online (And somehow still got the scene taken away in some places? Is ridiculous)
So I thought that was all I was ever going to get, at least for now; and I accepted that.
Then we go to the next episode and I am like “holy shit this is gay panic and there is absolutely no other explanation for it, they aren’t playing the subtle card anymore”
I was shocked; I grew up with crumbs of representation, and that is not even getting into the fact that the first confirmed gay characters I knew were so riddled with stereotypes I could not find any comfort and famiriality in them.
And seeing Amity made a mess of herself (which not gonna lie, reminded me way too much when I was 13 and crushing hard on a girl) meant the world to me, hell, still means the world to me.
While watching the show I couldn’t stop thinking how much this would had meant to me when I was younger; the enviroment I grew up wasn’t very open minded, and I still remember how that night it finally clicked that I wasn’t cishet, my first thought was that I needed to fix myself.
Even if I can’t make my younger self feel better about who we are, the fact that kids now have this is still a lot. They would see Amity and Luz, unapologetically in love, have Raine use they/them pronouns, being respected for who they are without an ounce of doubt, Willow’s dads being as normal as the weather; and know that they, is okay.
And part of it would had been lost if they had waited until the finale.
Sure, it would still have Luz and Amity together, but I know for experience, is not the same have yourself hoping, dreaming that this character you love is like you, than having them be stated like that way early, and not only know that, but see them do the same things you do, and how no one thinks is weird.
Is not like having the characters be together is a only same-sex thing; it wasn’t exactly homophobia why Star and Marco weren’t dating until the end, or how Miraculous has 4 seasons and they are still not dating.
But while those pairings are way obvious, most of the time same-sex things get stuff muddled, subtle, to the point people would deny it until the very end.
(Hell I still remember when Sapphire and Ruby were show for the first time in Steven Universe, and people were insisting they were sisters and nothing else)
Again, not throwing shade to SU staff (for this one at least) and other creators, because I can only imagine how hard it was to fight for those tihngs.
However, it doesn’t change how amazing is to have this.
I was thinking about it while rewatching Labyrinth Runners. I like Huntlow, and if you look close enough you can see little seedlings here and there, but nothing concrete enough, and yes, I had seen people say how shippers are misreading signals; same old fandom drama.
But that hit me with a realization: If there was any creator, or any other team, this would had been the opposite.
Huntlow would be the blatantly obvious, while Lumity would have minimal blushes or gestures. The fact that this isn’t the case makes me extremely happy.
Even if the show could had gotten four season with lumity at the finale, Raine either being a guy or somehow avoiding their pronounds until the very end (if not erase them compledtly) and Willow’s dads maybe being the only thing to exist; I don’t think this show wouldn’t be as dear to me if it wasn’t making my child self feel seen.
So, even if I am sure no one from the team would ever see this: Thank you Dana, and everyone else in the crew, for making this happen.
