100% canon
The stereotype of the nerd girl taking her glasses off and suddenly she's beautiful, but in reverse. A cold tough mean office lady who glares at everyone until she gets glasses and suddenly becomes sweet, approachable and friendly since she no longer has a constant headache over not being able to fucking see, doesn't need to squint at everything, and actually remembers individual people by name now that she can tell them apart at all.
Star Trek-related media test called the Bonesdel Test about whether Bones is actually a character in this story or is just standing adjacent to/being a caretaker of/serving as an antagonist for Spirk*
*Note that the Bechdel test is a joke about the bare minimum and not actually intended to be a measure of a quality female character. Note too that female characters should also have full and complete characterization. Please do not take the Bonesdel Test if you are allergic to any of its components. Side effects may include frustration at incomplete storytelling or mischaracterization.
Can you draw more aos mccoy and kirk those two look so hot together
Ask and you shall receive~ (thanks for the ask!)
I ALSO RECOMMEND FOLLOWING AND LOVING ALL OF HOPEFUL’S WORK! She is an absolutely amazing mckirk talent~!!!!

I tried a different style than what I usually do! I normally render a lot, but this time I went for flatter colors.
I kept the linework messy and unpolished because I wanted it to feel more organic and loose.
Trying different styles like this helps me grow and understand my creative process better, even when I don't understand what I'm doing most of the time.
Was thinking about the rust belt, then the Bible Belt, then the sun belt, then the corn belt, and I was like “how many goddamn belts does America have” and it appears to be about 20 belts, proud to announce America is a final fantasy character

I DONT CARE HOW MANY BEDS THERE WERE. WHAT IS YOUR BOOK ABOUT

i'm so fucking sorry. can you ever forgive me
idk what neurodivergent young adult needs to hear this but you are NOT supposed to give 100% at your job. I've gotten more promotions and raises since I started giving 40-60%, which my evil CEO uncle informed me is what bosses actually expect when they say 110%. My mental health has improved tremendously. I've spent 2 out of 5 workdays secretly writing my novel for the last 2 years and I've never been more respected and appreciated. Also--when you see glaring wasteful errors in the company's operating systems, say absolutely nothing! Embrace inefficiency. It is your friend in this capitalist hellscape.
"you wouldn't want that in real life" yeah i know it's called playing pretend, try to keep up
X-Files Season 6 behind the scenes
they make the best aliens because little girls are fucking bizarre, nobody else can match that energy
In an interview he said that the boys always ended up breaking their costumes bc they would fight each other, but the girls Got. Into. Character. and were amazing creepy little aliens.
When I was in college, my Creative Nonfiction professor would regularly have us do something she called "hotspotting" (she didn't know that this was already a term tbc) with our rough drafts. Basically, hotspotting is when you look at your draft and pick out your favorite sentence, or one of your favorite sentences--one that you're really proud of--and write it down in a blank sheet in a notebook. Not a new document, a physical notebook. (You are not allowed to use technology for hotspotting.) And then you set a timer for however long--like maybe ten to twenty minutes--and you elaborate. You treat that one sentence as if it's the opening sentence to a new draft, and you write from there, until the timer is up.
It sounds like a gimmick, but honestly, some of my best writing in that class came from hotspotting. Usually, the sentence you consider the "best" is the one that really gets to the heart of something you're trying to convey. In a rough draft, it tends to be that you're fumbling around a bit before you really hit on the heart of things. So with hotspotting, you're starting from a less fumbly place, which means you're able to dig into your subject in a much deeper and more precise way. It makes you feel like a surgeon, a little bit.
So I do recommend trying it, even just for fun, even if you think the rough draft you have is already good. You might surprise yourself with what you come up with! :)
remember, you can try a change for like a week and see how it works for you
you don't have to stick with something that you are trying
and if it works, great! keep it!
if it doesn't work, great! see what other changes you can try until you have an improvement that works for you!
remaining in a stagnation that harms and destroys is not helping you nor those around you. trying to grow and change yourself and our community around us, knowing when rest and recovery itself is an important change to make, and you'll stay whelmed
The World War II-era "Simple Sabotage Field Manual" is full of steps that office workers can take to resist leadership.
A declassified World War II-era government guide to “simple sabotage” is currently one of the most popular open source books on the internet. The book, called “Simple Sabotage Field Manual,” was declassified in 2008 by the CIA and “describes ways to train normal people to be purposefully annoying telephone operators, dysfunctional train conductors, befuddling middle managers, blundering factory workers, unruly movie theater patrons, and so on. In other words, teaching people to do their jobs badly.” Over the last week, the guide has surged to become the 5th-most-accessed book on Project Gutenberg, an open source repository of free and public domain ebooks. It is also the fifth most popular ebook on the site over the last 30 days, having been accessed nearly 60,000 times over the last month (just behind Romeo and Juliet).
