English just doesn’t steal words; it’s like words meet English at a bar thinking they’re mono-grammatical and two hours later are falling out of the backroom door into an alley totally stoned with an “I am so totes grammarfluid” tattoo on their ass and English’s phone number in sharpie on their arm.

On today’s episode of AJ’s Near Death Experiences!!!

We dropped a 30’, 200 lb,$7-10,000 parking lot light pole at Stadium!! I was on the boom deck guiding this pole down, (so I had a pretty firm grip on it,) and the rigging let go. The damn thing slammed into the deck, bounced and launched into the concrete and slid a good 10’ on the light heads. So, in those split seconds my initial reaction was to jump on the post to try and catch it, (that’s seriously dumb, never try to catch it,) instead I jumped back 4’ and got to safety. No one else tried to catch it either so there were no injuries. The impacts sheared some of the bolts, and the lights are pretty damaged. Stupid thing is, I saw it coming at the last minute and didn’t say anything because I’m not ticketed to rig or hoist, and I didn’t want to over step my j-men’s lead (It was the Owners son operating it so he’s probably ticketed, but also not going to get fired like anyone else would have...) So, there’s a ton of paperwork now, next Monday’s safety meeting is going to be riveting, and if I’m asked how to prevent this in the future, I’m saying every current journeymen (and myself preferably,) needs to be ticketed in Rigging and Hoisting. Welcome to my adrenaline filled life.

To simplify all of this, it’s okay to be who you are and be attracted to who you’re attracted to. There isn’t underlying problematic “-isms”, there isn’t anything wrong with you, so long as you’re true to yourself, and who you love. Life is fucking hard and confusing at the best of times, why not relax and just be the best version of you, that you can be~!!

This movie made me cry, I was so heart broken by how Ruby Bridges was treated! She was only 6, but was so strong. She is a very brave girl and she did not care what the white folks called her.

Every morning, as Bridges walked to school, one woman would threaten to poison her; because of this, the U.S. Marshals dispatched by President Eisenhower, who were overseeing her safety, allowed Ruby to eat only the food that she brought from home.

Another woman at the school put a black baby doll in a wooden coffin and protested with it outside the school, a sight that Bridges Hall has said “scared me more than the nasty things people screamed at us.” At her mother’s suggestion, Bridges began to pray on the way to school, which she found provided protection from the comments yelled at her on the daily walks.”
