Could we perchance pretty please get a little translation breakdown for Sherlock talking about how he sees Liam and/or feels about him in the new chapter? I always trust you to give us the goods without exaggerating them đ
Hyper, I adore you deeply, but Sherlock's chat with Fred about Liam is fully 13 pages long, and I am Not diagramming all of that. It's like half of the chapter. And frankly, it would be hard to follow. I started doing some of it and didn't even get halfway through the meaty bits before I went. "No, there's no way."
But basically.
This is all internal dialogue from Sherlock, by the way.
Sherlock thinks about how everyone is thinking of William with good intentions, but "William" and "The Lord of Crime" are inextricably bound to each other. And via good intentions for Liam, they're binding "William" even further.
Like he's literally using "William" and "Lord of Crime" in quotes, and Liam is not accompanied by them. Liam is the essence of who the person is, to Sherlock. William is one part of him, and The Lord of Crime is also part of it, but Liam is more than both.
(I think, at this point, it's interesting to bring up the fact that, strictly speaking, from birth, Liam wasn't William. Like the Lord of Crime, it was a persona he took on for his needs)
Sherlock wanted to ask Liam if Liam is okay with this situation, but decided it was a meaningless question that didn't matter and bit it back.
And that, from a practical standpoint, this is for the best. Sinners/criminals don't get to live unobstructed free lives, and this is how best to keep Liam safe. And he had also thought that as long as Liam was alive, it was...fine.
But. This isn't the Liam he wants to see. This isn't what he wants Liam to look like.
What he likes. What he wants to see.
Is the person who commits crimes for the happiness of others, the person who pushes forward alone to spare his friends, the person who completely ignores Sherlock's advice to stay inside and wanders the streets, the person who rushed into danger to save his friend.
A man who isn't tied down by anything.
And then he brings up their vows from Vermissa. How he swore to Liam that they would face their sins and live on together.
And now, if only a little, he wants to be able to give Liam some of that freedom back.
And then his quiet contemplation gets interrupted by Fred being like "Look, I think William's safety is of the utmost importance, and keeping the knowledge of his survival secret is a top priority...but I really want to meet your William. So we are going to figure this out."
So, Sherlock loves Liam so, so deeply, and all the most deeply unhinged parts of him. And he wants to take the hinges off that lock box again, even if Liam, as he's Liaming about this, has decided to sit in the goddamn box.
13 pages?!?! đ Thank you for the summary. I love Fred getting on board with letting Liam be human and himself, I love the distinction of Liam from William or the Lord of Crime, and I love how obviously Sherlock adores Liam, even if he's not explicitly saying it.
The thirteen pages does include some stuff I didnât mention here (mostly how Sherlock got on this train of thought, some morose musing about how Williamâs trapped and he isnât, their pseudo-separation, and some very frustrated exchanges with Fred). But yeah. Even the bit I summed up was like four and a half Very text-heavy pages.
Anyway, Sherlock just wants to let Liam be Liam!
Let Liam Liam!
Give Sherlock his gremlin playmate back! He wants to see the spark in his flame.
I need more Billy interacting with League members who fully knows his identity for a long time and they just treat him like their teammate with a side of being slightly over protective but not babying him. Wish DC would do something with this like in World's Finest again.
EVERYONE NEEDS TO SHUT UP AND GET ON THIS RIGHT NOW OH MY GOD
Billy with Justice League Dark as Captain Marvel!! In Dan Mora art!!!
Yall Iâm so excited you have no idea. I love how theyâve characterized him in the recent JLU series, both funny and focused on the mission. The perfect balance has finally been achieved and now theyâre putting him back in the mystic side of things where he BELONGS!!!
Is still find it funny that while (some) complaints about PJO and it's writing are valid, some just miss the point of the book itself.
Does the fact Demigods have ADHD and Dyslexia make sense because they're "wired for battle and ancient greek"? No.
But the meta of the books is that RR only wrote them because of his son with ADHD and Dyslexia. There would be no book without it- and say what you want about his bad descriptions of Dyslexia but honestly as someone with ADHD Percyâs dialogue reads like someone with ADHD.
This also goes into things like queer and POC rep in earlier books: is it good? No. Should it be the standard now adays? no.
But this was a book series published in the early 2000s. Having a series overtly state a character was mentally ill was out of right field at the time. Nico coming out as gay was unheard of. Even if the coming out scene WAS bad, I NEED people (both who glaze the whole thing or who despise it) to realize it's not written well, but it was still written despite the time it was. Which again: is better then most series at the time.
This also goes for POC rep: are there several issues with it? Yes. But unlike most rep done stereotypically its not purposely cruel. It's not done this way because RR thinks less of POC, its done this way because hes a straight middle aged white man. To actually name a first nation's person in your book (even if he choose the most "stereotypical" one) was a big deal at the time. To have several characters who were not white and important was a big deal at the time.
I'm not meaning to glaze RR. Anyone can have their opinions and choose what they want to read.
But guys, PLEASE these books were written in the 2000s/2010s. Gay marriage was only legalized in the states in 2011. Percy Jackson (at least in pop culture) is thought of to sit just below Harry Potter- which is owned by a bigot hell bent on destroying people's lives.
RR isn't the supervillian some of you make him out to be (unless I've massive missed something), he again is just a middle aged white man who is trying to write rep into his books. Which is better then 99% of books on the market today much less on the market in the early 2000s.
Time period does matter, and trying to "cancel" an author whos legit just trying to write rep for communities he's very obviously not in is not helping anyone. Especially not when a writer of another childhood series is literally helping strip people of their rights.
Thank you for saying this oh my god. I want to add, I literally did not know LGBTQ+ was a thing before I read RR books. I grew up reading Harry Potter and Enid Blyton where everyone was cishet white. I had genuinely never seen POCs in books before (highly satisfying, as a POC myself). I never considered that ADHD was actually a common problem that affected many people's lives. RR opened my eyes to MANY issues and actually made me a more open-minded person.
I saw women breaking stereotypes, which meant a HELL OF A LOT to me as a tween girl, already sick of misogyny, living in a relatively backward society (for reference, my great grandmother was married at 13, my grandmother never went to secondary school, and my mother fought her father to pursue higher studies). I remember reading Daughter of the Deep and Rick just normalised periods (my first time seeing it even mentioned in a book) and I was shocked. I was like this is actually getting talked about? People acknowledge that this is a problem that legit happens instead of avoiding it like the plague?
RR really did open my eyes by just trying to write representation and being a feminist and even if stuff isn't accurate it is still the best attempt I have ever seen. When I see RR hate I feel like it's literally just ragebait by people who NEED to bitch about something or the other.
my main issue with making aus is that i will also make sub aus. like the au but theres some different significant change or addition to it. and ill keep making these in my brain until theres like an entire ecosystem of them
After the war ended, the Moirai were called to decide the territories of the gods and cement the places of the Gods over their Domains just as they had for the Titans and Primordials before. The declaration that these young immortals had been deprived of by the former King, their father Kronos, titan of Agriculture.
Perseus, God of Loyalty, Time, War, Waters, Heroes, Poisons, Healing, Godlings. The Protector of All Children.
Zeus, God of the domains of Sky, Weather, Justice, Hospitality. King of the Skies.
Poseidon, God of the Sea, Earthquakes, Floods, Drought, Horses. King of the Seas.
Hades, God of The Dead, Riches, Underground. King of the Umderworld.
Hera, Godess of marriage, women, childbirth, stars.
Demeter, Goddess of Agriculture, Fertility, Nature.
Hestia, Goddess of the Hearth, Home, and Families.
They named none to take Kronos' crown over all, and left the seven of them to decide who shall bear the weight of the leadership of all Gods, Titans, Immortals, and Spirits.
The first born with her birthright refused.
"I lack experience, and have become the youngest. I shall not rule."
Thus they turned to Perseus, the eldest in experience, the one who nurtured and raised them all, the God whom all turn to and rely on the most.
"No." He made his refusal clear, "I wish for no absolute power, you bear my trust and are meant to rule as the fates dictate."
Thus from Skies to Heavens, Zeus Kronides was crowned the God King, the ruler of all.

So, this accidentally happened while I had no internet. This is both a storified version of what actually happens, as well as the myth that is passed down in-universe. The strikethrough bits... well there are things forgotten and not passed. Especially about of faded gods :)

Ridiculous au where Dick is still the first sidekick and he still founds the Titans, but heâs like a good few years younger than the rest of the Fab Five. Maybe he started the vigilante sidekick thing when he was like fuck it idk 6 or 7. Heâs like, 9 when Bruce basically waves him towards the others and says, âWhy donât you go play with your new friends,â meanwhile the others are like 16+ and shocked beyond belief when they realize the Robin theyâve heard so much about from their mentors is a literal child.
Anyway the direction I was going with this thought was something so dramatic happens where one of the Fab Five is at least 18 and when Dick is like 9-10ish, Bruce does something that pisses them all off bc of how he treats Dick. Maybe itâs the firing him from Robin thing bc he got shot by Joker or like nearly killed by Two-Face. Whatever flavor of angst tickles your fancy, so long as it ends with Dick absolutely distraught and running to his friends because heâs convinced Bruce doesnât want him anymore and doesnât love him anymore.
Dick, 9 years old, bullet still in shoulder, bleeding barely stemmed, stammering and crying his eyes out because Bruce fired him, because heâs no use to Bruce if he isnât Robin, because heâs nothing if he isnât Robin.
And a gaggle of teenage vigilantes who instantly take him in and donât let any of the adult heroes anywhere near him.
Maybe Donna or Roy (maybe both via marriage of convenience?) actually adopts him. Bruce never got around to it? Tough shit, heâs their kid now, snooze you lose.
Except no one finds out that they adopted Dick until something comes up when Dick is like 22 and all the others bats are in the picture.
Idk I just think this is a fun concept I think it could be really silly really insane lots to work with.
Hey on an unrelated note who would read a story about Endou and Tenma both getting kidnapped as kids, featuring protective big brother Endou, adorable but slightly feral tiny Tenma, and torture? Asking for a friend
Hello, tumblr! I saw something on here the other day that worried me, so I decided to Do Science about it. But I can't do it alone: I need your help to build the dataset!
Here's what I need you to do:
If you see a post with a "mature content" label, and it's 2026, DM me a link to the post.
Yes, that's really it.
I am hoping to collect several thousand such posts, so that I have a decent sized dataset. I do not care what the post is about; if it's labeled as "mature content", I want to add it to my dataset.
If I get 10,000 posts in my dataset before August 31st 2026, I will post my preliminary findings then. I won't feel comfortable calling my findings "settled" before 2027, unless I get over 50,000 posts.
I am not talking about that unless I have results to share. That would bias the results.
I did write them down and I did share them with a trusted contact who can prove that I wrote them down the same day I made this post. (While I did so before I made this post, I am not sure they will be able to provide proof of that, because I did so on the same day.)
OP are you interested in...?
Do you have to click through to see the post? Does the clickthrough contain the words "mature content"? Then yes.
OP are you interested if the post is about...?
I am interested in the mature content labels, not the content of the post. Is there a clickthrough that contains the words "mature content"? Then yes.
Yes, please. I felt really silly when I noticed I forgot to include that in the original post.
Is it okay if I send you my own posts?
Yes, those are perfect for what I'm looking for. I actually need to do some processing on a post to make it useful for testing my hypothesis, and this makes it easy.
Are you looking for "potentially mature content" also, or just "mature content"?
I want both, please. Anything that throws up a blocking screen that you have to click through. The distinctions between them are one of the things I am hoping to study.
Does it matter when the post was made originally?
Technically no. There's no way to respond to this without introducing some bias in the results, and I don't want that. However, I do collect some data on a post as part of making it useful to me, and that data is easier to collect if the post is recent.
What if I request content label review on a post after I send it to you?
I need to see the mature content label to be able to use the post. Because the mature content label hides the content of the post, it is very hard to use a post that no longer has a mature content label. You could send me a screenshot, but people could use that to lie to me.
Basically, it's more work for you to make it usable to me.
OP are you a transphobe? It would ruin the experiment for me if you're a transphobe.
I promise I'm not a transphobe and not doing this for transphobic reasons. You should still double-check that I'm not a transphobe for yourself, though. I am not sure that this study will have the useful effects you're hoping for; I am studying something specific, and it may not be what you hope.
I need people to see the Diana and Billy besties vision. Enough Bruce adopts Billy, give me the story about Wonder Woman and Shazam doing a twelve labours type of adventure.
