I'm already thinking about the timeline reveal in the CCM Shallergies 'verse, like-

Yuna: "So, when?"

Shane: "... the whole time, basically."

Yuna: "The whole time?? Since you were, what, seventeen?"

Shane & Ilya: "No no no-"

Shane: "Since the CCM shoot, when I ended up in the hospital and we exchanged numbers."

Yuna: "When you-" (pauses to remember) "... you weren't really watching a rerun of an old hockey game in July, were you?"

Ilya: "No, water bottle was a lie."

Shane, warningly: "Ilya."

Ilya: "What actually happened-"

Shane: "ILYA."

Ilya: "-is we kissed very chastely like Disney characters and then held hands for several minutes until Shane started dying-"

Shane, defeated: "Ilya."

Ilya, encouraged: "-and that is actually all we have ever done! Only a few kisses. Maybe ten in the whole time we've known each other. It has mostly been hand-holding. Nothing else ever."

Shane: "Ilya, I swear to god."

David: "I'm pretty sure I saw an ass grab earlier, kiddo."

Ilya: "No, no, that must have been distortion through the glass, like when pencils break in water but not really. That has never happened, David."

Shane, even more defeated: "Ilya..."

Ilya, even more encouraged: "Shane and I are actually waiting for marriage."

Yuna: "There was also that TMZ article that blew up about you and your Reddit sexts thread last summer, Ilya."

Ilya: "Yuna the internet was lying :("

ilya, has not willingly step foot in a church since he was like. seven.: "i am very strict russian orthodox. i do not believe even in holding hands before marriage."

"ilya, you do not-"

The whole Fat Baby Shane thing made me convinced Shane and Ilya have the biggest fattest babies ever. I don't care if they adopt or have a surrogate or Shane gets pregnant I just know their kids end up being monster babies and it would be insane except theyre both big beefy hockey players so the babies look almost normal when theyre held by them. The internet has a field day comparing pictures of Ilya holding them(in which they look like slightly bigger than normal babies) and Yuna holding them(in which the babies look like an area 51 project). Shane and Ilya still think theyre so little and honestly not heavy at all(see: big beefy hockey players) so theyre completely confused when anyone mentions that theyre gigantic. When Ilya does recognize that theyre like 95th percentile babies he is very proud

thinking about shane and his parents again. there is something to be said about the lack of awareness there. your parents love you, sure, but do they know you? and the answer is no. because you hid yourself. because you weren't sure if they'd love that about you too. because you're too scared to try. because it's better to be loved as half a person than to be pitied for it all - or even worse, to not be understood even then.

Harris has the idea to make the centaurs try Pilates for a video. Everyone is immediately humbled and going through hell apart from Shane who is having the time of his life.

David Hollander is definitely the type of man to randomly put on a song and pull his wife up to dance with him, especially if she’s stressing about something, or worrying, or upset, or just because. She will usually lightly protest, honey, I need to finish this email, but she’ll happily go along nonetheless.

David does it for the first time in front of Ilya when the boys are visiting and Shane and Yuna are planning (arguing) about something new brand deal.

He puts a song on the record player (Yuna has given up teaching him the Alexa), and he takes Yuna’s hand without a word. She protests that they need to plan out these contract terms and how his son is being difficult about it.

Shane starts to protest at that, but doesn’t get far until Ilya pulls him up to dance, too. A very embarrassed Shane goes willingly. He’s watched his father do this for years but never thought he would be pulled up to dance one day. From the fond looks from his parents, they probably didn’t either.

Shane meets Ilya’s smile with a half-hearted glare, but can’t deny swaying to the music in his boyfriend’s arms feels much better than stressing about a brand deal. Ilya makes a note to ask David for anymore tips and tricks.

Y’know what’s an interesting concept.. the idea that the Centaurs aren’t just bad or rebuilding, they’re specifically where you send the rejects. The guys who might be talented but ‘disrupt the culture’

Troy calls out Dallas Kent for being a rapist and he’s on the quickest bus to Ottawa. What if he wasn’t alone in that? What if most of the guys who end up in Ottawa get there because of a general refusal to buy in to the leagues bullshit?

one guy throws a punch after hearing a defensemen talk shit about the women he’d been sleeping with. Another refuses to play nice when his teammates are being racist. Never full on social warrior campaigns but a general refusal to put up with ‘locker room culture’ to be part of the ‘good ole boys club. They’re weird. They’re woke. They’re ‘on the bus to Ottawa.’

Ilya goes to a team that’s passionate and angry. They’re good hockey players, can play with the best of them… except they can’t because they refused to play the game behind the scenes. Too good for the AHL and too ‘soft’ for the MLH.

He quickly realizes just how much this team needed him. How much hockey might need this team. How much he might need this team.

ilya rozanov casually scrolling his ig reels one day and comes across a couple edit of him and shane to honeybee. it’s scenes of them during games, during harris’ videos, the foundation footage, and public sightings. nothing new, really, except the fucking lyrics are like a knife stabbing into his chest and rip out his heart. when it gets to “here’s to hoping” it’s a montage of all their kisses on the ice after a goal and winning a cup.

shane found his husband sobbing holding his phone in his hand and a video playing over and over and rushes over to make sure ilya’s okay and ilya just looks at him and goes “i hope i never see what your face looks like going” and okay now shane wants to cry too ilya’s scaring him what’s going on?? and ilya shows him the video and yeah okay that’s so fucking gut wrenching shane couldn’t do anything but clutch ilya’s in his arms and whispering sweet nothings

the Foxes in the background, who, five minutes earlier, had just been on the receiving end of a twenty-minute rant about how pathetic they were, how a three-legged dog could’ve scored better than they did, and how today’s win was nothing but a fluke: Oh, really?

"making them afraid will make them more racist" that's wild to me, because we live in a whole culture of social consequences for antiracism anyway. It is literally safer to be a racist than it is to speak up against it, socially.

Idk about you, but "I'm afraid no one will want to be my friend if I'm a white supremacist" seems like a pretty logical thought process to have, and I wish THAT were the normal and not "I'm afraid my friends will hate me if I tell them they made racist jokes".
