"Yeah but we as Americans CAN stop arming Israel!!!" That is true!!! And so far, in the entire history of the US's allyship with Israel, President Biden is the only one to have so much as threatened to withhold arms exportation to Israel, whilst meanwhile, Trump has been very open about his plan to "help Israel finish the job" and "level gaza" and has, I believe, even brought up the possibility of using nuclear power on Gaza.
So on the one hand you have a President who, against the pattern of all those who came before him and against immense in-house pressure, threatened to pull funding/arms shipments to Israel.
And on the other hand, you have a guy who openly wants to give Israel MORE weapons, MORE money, MORE impunity, MORE illegally-gotten land, MORE dead Palestinians, etc.
And sure, threatening to pull funding/weapons from Israel is very different to actually doing it, but it cannot be overstated how big of a deal it is that Biden threatened it at all, given the unfathomably intense, absolutely unwavering support of most of the US government towards Israel.
I, personally, think that if Biden were lynched in the street for what has happened to Palestine on his watch, it would be understandable. But I can despise him for not doing nearly enough to curb Israel whilst also acknowledging that the other guy will be unfathomably, astronomically worse for Palestine.
If Palestine is your main sticking point for whether or not to vote Biden, know that voting for Biden helps prevent the guy who wants to nuke Gaza from getting into power.
"I shouldn't have to vote for either of them!!" Well, you do. Sorry. Your options are "the guy who has allowed this genocide to happen but who has repeatedly shown signs of caving to public pressure, and who even threatened to pull weapons from israel, which is leagues more than any president before him has ever done" -- or "the guy who has openly committed to razing gaza to the ground and erasing palestinians from existence."
One of them is going to be elected, one way or another. You can help make sure it's the lesser-evil --- or you can refrain from voting and let the unfathomably evil guy get into power because you somehow thought that not voting and thus allowing a Trump win was somehow the morally correct course of action. Your choice.
