if you've never engaged with a creative art on a regular basis you need to understand that it requires concerted effort to get into "the groove" to make something and every second that it takes to get into that groove causes physical pain, but the only thing worse than doing it is not doing it.

The best thing about this is how much love for Rothko there is in it. Like... here. Here is a rectangle, and if you stand far away it's just two or three colors a bit streaky, and the closer you get the more it opens up until it swallows you whole with the idea of how vast it is, how much bigger than you. If someone framed the real-life sea and sky and told everybody that's what my artwork was like to them I'd kiss them

Yesterday, I was at dinner with some friends and briefly forgot Harrison Ford’s name, but I was like, “His name is a president and a car,” which is how we got such acceptable alternatives as McKinley Camry, Van Buren Gremlin, Clinton Infinity, and Range Rover Cleveland.

"Algospeak is just superstition / not real / blah blah blah" I get that you probably don't respect anyone whose income depends on YouTube enough to speak to them, but if you would, you'd figure out that there are in fact words you can't say on the platform without risking a video not just being demonetized, but even search banned or deleted entirely.
"Transgender" literally used to be one of the context-sensitive banned words on YouTube. I'm the reason that got fixed 5 years ago. My video was the one that got deleted citing a "child safety" policy because I said "transgender" in a video about Super Mario Galaxy and you used to LITERALLY not be allowed to mention trans people in anything that could be assumed to be "kid friendly" (like Mario.)
As tempting as it is to say that there's no excuse on Tik Tok bc you shouldn't be doing Tik Tok for a living, videos there absolutely will be suppressed if the topic you're speaking about isn't entirely positive and social media is supposed to be for conversation. If you can't have conversations about certain topics without your video being hidden from people, that's censorship!
Instagram's captioning tool straight up bleeps out swearing FOR you if you don't do it, too.
The platforms ARE censoring people, each to varying levels of severity, and y'all are fucking up the conversation about this by pretending they don't.
To give you an idea of how oddly easy it is to get a search ban on YouTube, this video briefly had a search ban for no clear reason
actually it's probably because of the word "sex"
after a couple hours chopping dried sea urchins into tiny pieces with a razor blade you start referring to the razor blade as yourself in your thoughts. a little while afterwards you'll inevitably think something along the lines of "i'm getting a bit dull, i'm going to have to throw myself out & get myself a new self" at which point your internal monologue has pretty much returned to baseline
This happens with mobility aids too. I bump into shit with my forearm crutches and say "ow" before I realize those are not, in fact, More Legs. Then when I get up and try to walk without them for a second there's a moment of feeling like a dog walking upright
If you find this interesting, look into extended mind/body theory :)

I think there’s a teaboot(?) post about this with a huge security cam system
Yeah I get twitchy when I don't have my eyes
Social media literally censors people who are too "ugly" idk why y'all think they don't also censor language and topics
I THOUGHT THE REASON WE WERE ALL ON TUMBLR IS LITERALLY BECAUSE OTHER SNS DO THAT

There is no such thing as “the evil kill-people disorder that makes you kill people”; it has always been a myth made up by demonization to sell more ableism.
"the evil abuse-people disorder that makes you abuse people" is also a myth, no matter what people on TikTok try to tell you
