If you would like to exist in fandom spaces at any point, learn. Learn the culture of the space that celebrates your work. If you aren't willing to do that, then you are taking that community for granted.

Yes, you can police boundaries in streams, and videos, and your youtube discord, these are not fandom spaces. Anyone who visits those spaces should abide by the rules and boundaries put in place. As you should in any space. Read the rules on the wall. But policing fandom is a completely different thing. Fandom is not a discord server or a comment section. Fandom is a community, and it functions on a few rules, rules that are older than a large majority of modern fandom. The principle rule being "don't like don't read." Fandom is a space for ideas and passions to pool through whatever lense people see fit. Once it is in that space, unless it is a product being directly shown to you, it should have no bearing on a creator. It does not represent you. It does not represent your brand. It does not represent what you put out. It represents someone else's interpretation and passion, what they find fun or interesting, and if you see something that rubs you the wrong way, take a hike. Close the tab. Get off tumblr and go back to Bluesky or Twitter, or god forbid, Reddit. Do not harass people or incite people to harass strangers on the internet for being "problematic." For celebrating fandom. This is not a space for you. It never was.

Inciting a harassment campaign is not just irresponsible, it is reprehensible, and shows you do not understand what you're doing when you interact with your community. Back up. Unplug. Move on. Creating boundaries is a good thing. It is a healthy thing. And anyone who directly engages with you should be held to those boundaries, just as you should respect them and their position. Policing fandom and harassing strangers online is not a boundary.

How to avoid shipping problems

1) Make sure shipping fics are appropriately labelled.

2) Ignore things with those labels

3) If you have problems with 1 or 2 which are things you can control, do not post a diatribe on the main tag telling people that they are gross and disgusting and they should leave the main tag, because that is gross and disgusting.  

It’s sickening to come into this place and seeing people hating others because they do something harmless you don’t like.  I am embarrassed that this is representing Hermitcraft fandom.  I have no control here, I cannot stop you but the shaming has to stop.
