you and me, Sunday drivers no survivors
- the Beatles vaguing Tolkien in revenge for his comments about them
wait what did Tolkien say about the Beetles?
I don't have a specific quote I just know he really really hated their music and was also famous for charging pedestrians in his car
for WHAT
"Tolkien was, unfortunately, not known for being a particularly good driver. In fact, according to the stories he was a downright terror on the road. He would simply gun his car forward when he came across serious traffic and would actually yell, “charge them and they scatter!” as he gleefully forced his way through to where he wanted to be. On one family trip, the car—known as Old Jo—ended up with two flat tires and Tolkien managed to drive it partway into a wall, causing some damage."
incredible
can we talk about how funny it is that tennyson just decided that he shipped two different people to what was generally accepted as canon so he just. changed it. just changed the couple in his arthuriana texts. knew no one could stop him and went for it.
and he was right too for the record gareth/lynette is far superior
rip alfred lord tennyson you would have done numbers on ao3
Ok, it's finally done. Home is a place, home is a person.
This story is my first major piece after several years of art block, and I'm so glad I could finally get back to drawing.
Huge thanks to my dear friend @chancekey for the support.
in the cambrian period the ocean was shallow and the sun never set. every day was sunday morning and there was never any dark. the world was a watery wonderland and air didnt exist yet. animals had just invented eating eachh other and it was really funny. having eyeballs was all the rage
its true ❤
what do you know ❤
the ocean was made of sprite also
theres been a lot of people on this post trying to correct basically every aspect of what ive said but nobody's confronted me on "everyday was sunday morning"
everybody agrees everyday was sunday morning
I love that a lion with an eagle's head and wings is such a well-known mythical beast but apparently the English language can only agree on a grand total of 3 out of 7 letters in its name.
Regex that ought to match (most) spelling variations of this mythical beast's name:
gr[iuy](?:ff|ph)[eioy]n
I write it either as gryffin or griffin
But
Gruphon, gryffon, griphen (sounds like the plane, grippen, lmao), gruffin and others would be enlightened spellings
@artemisonahunt this one is for you

Well, it was a shaky start when I witnessed two grown adults turn into, like, Take That fans. “He’s so famous!”
Glad to report that the new season of Taskmaster is another instant classic.
How do I explain Plato's allegory of the cave to my cat?
gato’s allegory of the fishtank
I have been banned from continuing to discuss the existence of the French Revolution in the Bridgerton universe at family dinners
^ I stand by this.
( @frodo-of-the-nine-fingers I’m so sorry)
Everyone keeps talking about "the writer's barely disguised fetish". But I still haven't heard about "the writer's barely disguised huge ass pet peeve"

You know, this would explain why Picard, the most English person ever to walk aboard a starship, continues to claim he’s French.
