hi there, it's been a while

... hello... I am still alive, and man, have I been busy for the last *checks date* FIVE YEARS???

Since then, writing-wise, I've:

Completed a Bachelor's Degree in Creative Writing (3 years)

Completed a part-time Master's Degree in Creative Writing (2 years) alongside a full-time job as a Copy/Content Writer.

Fallen in love with poetry and had quite a few poems published, so much so that I started an Instagram around it that I'm trying to build up.

And now I'm here again. Out of academia, stuck solely in a 9-5 that pays the bills, and I'm not really sure what to do with myself. (Although i am debating a PhD...)

But, I've been thinking about getting back into writing fanfiction. I never stopped reading it, after all.

My interests in fandoms have, naturally, shifted over the last few years.. Unfortunately, once Tony Stark died, so did my love for the MCU. But, with the right ideas fuelling me, I might be able to write something there.

I'd be interested in writing some more Harry Potter fanfiction. I know there are a lot of issues regarding JK Rowling, but I think the fandom is still alive. I've actually found the start of a fic that I'm now rewriting and hoping to continue... let me know if you're interested!

My main interest nowadays is 9-1-1. Specifically, Evan "Buck" Buckley. I've tried my hand at one fic there before, but I'd be willing to try at some others...

Feel free to shoot some prompts my way! Not sure I'll manage to write them, but they might be the boost I need to get back into writing fics! But, I make no promises; I'm really just trying my hand at this again and hoping it doesn't go horrifically wrong.

Either way, this post was mostly to say hi and see who was still active. I hope you've all been well - I've missed you all!

TLDR: want to get back into writing fanfiction. Probably fics around Harry Potter and/or 9-1-1. Maybe Marvel (pre-Endgame). Thoughts?

shout out to people who's family isnt entirely bad or entirely good, but something in between and you dont know how to feel about them. you feel angry but you also feel guilty, because you know they genuinely love and care about you, but sometimes they show it in a way you know its not okay. your feelings are valid, your anger and sadness and grief are valid, and you dont have to prove this to no one. bigger shout out to those with memory issues who know something isnt right but can't recall all of the bad events, only the feelings, which only increases the guilt.

‘there’s nothing wrong with you’ part 1 of my ace of hearts.

Hello... I am still alive (unfortunately :P)... I am so sorry for the unintentional months I've been on hiatus. It wasn't on purpose, but I got really busy with assignments and I also kind of wasn't in the right mindset for quite a bit. I've had a few difficult months and my life got too hectic. My parents moved house and I am also moving from my student flat to a little house with my friend next week! Plus I now have two jobs!

If you've read my work before, you'll notice that I'm not writing Avengers... I haven't really been into the fandom for a few months now, I've drifted a bit away and fallen in love with 9-1-1 and Buck. So I thought, I'm reading so much of it, maybe I could try my hand at writing some 9-1-1 fics... hence this.

I plan for this to be a smallish series. In my head, I've got at least 5 stories planned and I've just finished the third one. I don't, however, know what my publishing timeline will be like; I don't think it will be as fast as I typically do as my life is currently hectic!

wanna hear a wild story? my brother’s history professor is closing in on 80 and basically lives at the university. one night my brother visited him for a meeting, and it came up that my brother was gonna be performing as a court jester at the castle the following day. and his professor busts out: “ah, that reminds me of my youth!”

he then proceeded to tell the tale of when he and his friends went backpacking to greece back in their early 20s. then one day they found themselves completely penniless. so they decided that the only reasonable thing to do was to set up acrobatic shows in skimpy outfits on the beach at day, and then drink up the money at night.

after a week or so they gained some traction, and a gang of young greek men walked up to them like “hey y’all are cool as hell, can we join y’all for drinks tonight?” and my brother’s professor was like “of course! y’all have to wear these revealing outfits and do somersaults with us tho” and the greek gang said “sounds dope. y’all are invited to live with us for however long y’all want.”

anyhow, they proceeded to live like this for the better part of 3 months, doing shows, drinking, and sleeping at the greek gang’s apartment. but after a while they decided enough was enough, and said thank you for everything, but we’re going back to sweden now. and the greeks said “sure! love y’all have a safe trip xx”

half a year later my brother’s professor gets contacted by the greek police. they ask him about the months they spent in greece, and then informs him that their greek friends have been convicted of serial homicide and robbery. that the group of young greek men had joined up with several tourist groups for several years “for drinks”, and then killed and robbed them all, terrorising the beach city for several years. with one exception, of course, because “this one group of swedish acrobats in slutty strongman suits were just ‘so damn nice’”.

and that’s the story of how one swedish history university professor survived sharing a flat with a group of serial killers for several months by performing acrobatics in slutty outfits on the beach. moral of the story? be kind of heart, thicc of ass.

“Protect Tony Stark,” he answered without faltering, but his response was unexpected and even made Peggy startle in surprise.

This is for a multi-chaptered short fic I'm working on; it's basically Tony breaking through to the Winter Soldier when he was a kid and Bucky becoming his protector/uncle-figure. I have no clue where this is going, but I more or less want to explore their relationship through Tony's childhood and adulthood events.

For those in the comments saying they should have used “Happy” or at least “Sleepy”, that would STILL be them buying into that question of comparing their wives to one of the 7 Dwarves. It would still be them offering up their sex-lives as a joke when a lot of women would prefer it remain private and not broadcast on television. They aren’t being “pussies” by refusing to answer. (It would actually be easier to just “go with the flow” and try giving one of the safer options.) They’re both saying “No. Not even going there. I respect my wife too much.” Good for them.
