Broski and I were fighting(he was touching my things laying on a shelf), he went to the bathroom to blow off some steam, he came back and asked me, poker faced, if I would like to marry that shelf.

My aunt(with whom we are in a single-room hotel room rn) then proceeded to ask, poker-faced that I can't because a shelf is feminine in Polish. I fucking love these people.

I seriously didn't expect this book to be this hilarious cause why is grace thinking that he must be in quarantine and seriously ill and with controlled air circulation and parameters before he even thinks about his name (and the fact that he doesn't remember it). I underestimated you, Dr grace.

I must emit some supreme aroace aura with how I was sitting between my brother and cousin and we were talking to another cousin and she asked my cousin if he's got a girlfriend. Then she asked my brother if he has a girlfriend. Just completely skipped me. My brother is 12 and she asked him over me. Like I'm kinda glad(cause I'm aroace and I'd rather have a girlfriend anyway) but why? What's the logic here?

The Iron Widow by Xiran Jay Zhao (has been sitting on my shelf since October two pages in lesgo)

Daily life of polish magnates in the 17th century(also academic and published in 1976 was my birthday gift last year so for 11 months it's been waiting for me to read it.... yey hopefully I read it)

Uhhh so I hope 6 books is a realistic goal(especially since I have been reading Wawel since Christmas so I am over half through with it)

Despite Vienna's glasses being basically off his nose, not meeting his eyes, they were fully functional and he needs them to see.

Meanwhile Austria's glasses are (mostly) decorative with non- functional lenses, despite looking very normal.

Why is English such a casual language no those characters are not on first name basis they shouldn't be saying you but also they are roughly on the same level they wouldn't really use sir damnit I miss causal formalities and having 10 different forms of address. How do you construct a sentence around mister? You've got a well behaved grandson, mister Peter. Does this sentence sound good? Does it???!!!

I love reading something and being like "oh! It's the author's bias/personal preference/personality/belief shining through! How lovely! Yey!" Like it's so great to just be reading a book, novel or nonfiction and see the thinly veiled criticism of what the characters do. Especially non fiction. Especially books about historical events. Yes, Mr historian who's been dead for 40 years. Tell me more about how we could have started a second french revolution in Poland but the politicians involved were too dumb. Or just how the politicians were too dumb. It's fascinating.
