I really don't take "there are no friends" to mean "I never cared about you." I think it means "You never cared about me." or worse. "We can't not hurt eachouther that's why where in hell. We hurt people it's what we are."
Alastor knows he has a soft spot for the tv and his nonsense. Like yes it was brutal obviously he didn't want Vox to have a chance to think that this 'partnership' was ever going to happen. He's not mad because he doesn't think he cares about Vox, he's mad becuase he thinks Vox is just weponizing there relationship to get to his power. The same way Mimzy will leverage there relationship for favors. The same way Rosie will uses there relationship to keep him playing long with out fussing to much (untill present apparently). He doesn't need a thrid person trying to uses his limited good will to get something out of him.
When it comes to reciprocation, my preferred version is actually between Staticlovetune and Radiosilence. I prefer mutual obsession with Al's feelings being unclear whether they're platonic or romantic.
Since so many dynamics are already covered here, it was a bit hard to think of dynamics to put for the last two (the custom ones), but then I recalled, sometimes people do AUs where the current versions interact with the past ones, and those are fun. Don't know what they're called so I just made up names.
So I just saw the cutest little comic with Alastor and Mimzy and it got me thinking about Human Alastor.
[So Viv did say she had to get some characters shoved in kind of weird and early because they do contribute to the story later, and I believe Mimzy is one of those, so I wanted to just put out I'm aware of that.]
I feel like Mimzy actually did 2 things for us, not just one.
The one we know: Gave us Alastor's general backstory in Hell.
The one I think we didn't realize as much: She also gave us hints at the kind of person Alastor was on earth, not just through what she says, but how she interacts and responds to him and how he responds to her.
So far, all we've seen of Alastor is what he's like in Hell, (20ish years in and 70 years in) and on Earth what he was like during murders and the summoning. We only saw snapshots of him in any other setting including his death because we didnt get to see expressions. No dialog, no real time in frame interactions to inspect, other than when the white dude spills wine on him and laughs. But I count that more as part of the murders.
So we directly see him: angered, during a kill, and when he was successful in a summoning. And so far, we've just kind of taken those moments we've seen and theorized how Alastor acted on Earth based solely on those.
But what if Mimzys interaction with him is more accurate than we thought?
He welcomes her openly, gives her a real, genuine, big hug, and his face softens a bit when talking and interacting with her, and compliments her.
She calls him all sorts of pet names, smoozes him up, and even at the end she can sit there and tease and poke at him and argue with him with absolutely zero fear or concern. While she does have the personality to warrant she does that with a lot of folks, something feels very unguarded with how she does it with Alastor. And with the line about how she knows he likes taking care of her so much.
And he doesn't correct her or intimidate her. He just calmly keeps a very firm boundary (the only healthy thing he's ever done ffs).
What if Alastor was a soft spoken, more genial, very caring and optimistic person? (Please remember you can be soft, mild mannered and still be very extroverted, high energy and social, there's not a binary on that).
What if he was actually soft? Unless it was a murder or something involving the occult? Still capable of being sassy and sharp tongued when irritated or bantering, but not the cold hardness everyone is assuming on a day-to-day.
Mimzy never says anything to say otherwise about what he was like on earth OR in Hell.

Mimzy: That's the story most people know, but underneath it all... he's a total sweetie. Put on some jazz and pour a couple fingers of rye and he becomes a kitten!
She says what he DOES but the only thing said about what he IS is "he's a total sweetie" and "becomes a kitten."
So what if in real life Alastor was this extroverted, high energy guy that was really just mild spoken, gentle and actually warm? Even vulnerable to a degree to those he was close to? (Examples I'm thinking of are how Alastor is written in TIDES by @mak3morn and Huamn Al in I Did It My Way by @r3tr0b3tty0 )
Like I wanna dare say basically a softer, sweeter version of Vincent (strong quiet energy, soft spoken VS high booming energy, loud and brash).
I can just imagine an Alastor who is a little insecure under all that extroverted energy, someone rather awkward.
He knows he's strange, he knows he's weird and not quite like everyone else, and at least being extroverted and high energy he can cover that to strangers or to big hitting radio people most of the time. But with friends like Mimzy? She says something and he fidgets and blushes and does the whole 😅 rubbing the back of his head thing.
That's why he's so scared of looking weak, because his real demeanor is just this really soft little guy and in life it got him a lot of shit especially with being a pretty boy at that, too.
(I've also seen hc about the red tie indicating a low key sign for queer people in the early 1900s, and personally HC Alastor as being shorter and more petite than other men as a child and adult, which would quarduple the hell he got while alive being POC, smaller, amiable which would've come off as effeminate to people, and queer)
I really love the idea because the CONTRAST we would have there is astounding. And he never showed that side in Hell because he knows it would make him look weak. Except to one singular person we've seen in canon (Vox).
He's just this sweet, awkward little guy who happens to be an Occult practitioner and Serial Killer on the side and that's the only time we see him go hardball.
It’s all in the way that girl/boys shirts are made.
Girls shirts have less armpit room then boy’s do and are generally shorter so pulling it off over your head is more practical because by lifting your arms all the way up you make enough room for the sleeves to just slip off.
Boys shirts have more room and are generally longer so it is easy to slip them off over your head.
but if you take a girls shirt off like a boys shirt you will get your arms caught because there isn’t much armpit space.
and if you take a boys shirt off like a girls shit you will still have your head in it when you’ve lifted your arms all the way up because of the shirt’s length.
It has nothing to do with us. It is entirely to do with how our shirts are made. I figured it out for you. YOU’RE WELCOME!
