colugos are amazing!! there are only two species of them and they’re found in southeast Asia. they may resemble bats, but they’re in their own order (Dermoptera) and their closest relatives are primates!

they’re also sometimes referred to as flying lemurs which is funny because they neither fly nor are lemurs :) they ARE able to glide though, and they eat fruit, leaves, and flowers. their incisors are super cool and have grooves that help them feed and also groom themselves!!! they are so interesting and amazing and more people need to know about them!!!!!!!!

I love this movie so much!!! And the book even more. One of the few books I can read over and over again.

If you haven't watched it yet, do yourself a favour and read the book first. The movie is a really great adaption of the book, but the book is still even better.

The A Stands For A-Spec

This is an updated/revised verison of my "The A Stands for Aro-Ace" post I made over a year ago! That original post sort of blew up on here, which I did not expect at all!

I decided to create an updated version, including more information I didn't get to previously, as well as change it to "The A Stands For A-Spec."

I received a bit of criticism and realized that, while I clarified in the original that aro and ace are NOT the same, the name of the original project could easily lead people to think that's what I was saying.

So I wanted to make it extra clear that they are NOT the same :)

do you think the eridians would repatriate grace's body to earth after he inevitably dies? or would they understand that he wouldn't want to face the cold dark void of space again, and keep him on erid? would rocky trawl through the huge expanse of information stored on the hail mary, hoping to find something about earth funeral customs? do you think they would at least send a message about it to earth - after all, he was theirs first? do you think by that time, there would be people on earth who weren't even born during the astrophage crisis, but nevertheless had grown up hearing the stories of the brave astronaut and his alien friend who had saved the planet? do you think ryland grace, who starts out the movie as stratt's dispensable guinea pig, no partner or family, "you don't even have a dog", would become the first living thing to be globally mourned by TWO planets? yeah just a thought
