Scott Listfield at Antler Gallery.

Currently on view at Antler Gallery in Portland, Oregon is a spectacular new body of work from artist Scott Listfield alongside artist Josie Morway in an exhibition entitled, “Migrations.”

From the gallery: “This exhibition is an exploration of a theme which is both inherently natural and fundamentally political. Migratory species react in response to biological imperatives and environmental changes. Surreal environments juxtapose recognizable landscapes with unexpected animals, mysterious golden geometry and thread woven by creatures within a dark atmosphere hint toward the overarching theme. Humans in forced migration continually adapt to increasingly difficult situations. Those in power seek to politicize this plight, painting it as nefarious, instead of extending empathy.”

The exhibition will be on view until November 19th, 2018 and should not be missed if you’re in the area.

Red Bull Arts Detroit: Artist Residency Exhibition.

Artists Jason Pulgarin, Nathan Smith and Debbie Manville recently exhibited their latest bodies of work at the Red Bull Arts Detroit gallery space in Detroit’s historic Eastern Market neighborhood. The exhibition opened on Friday, August 3rd and is open every Saturday and Sunday (11a - 4p) until September 2nd, 2018.
