This AU is based in the Synchro Dimension, but it has 5Ds in there too, as well as some stuff from the games.

A group of three located in the Commons are trying to uncover a series of disappearances tied to attempts to reignite conflict between the Tops and Commons.

“…you probably already know who we all are, so I’m not going to bother explaining that. It’s just… he’s been tearing himself apart over this whole thing. I get how he feels— I’m probably the only one who can, but…”

Or a regular au thing with the asks still open I mean that’s kind of what it is already. Idk I’ll figure it out (I really don’t want this to sound like complaining I seriously don’t mind I’m just wondering if switching the format would be better)

[the man moves his right arm away from the camera, hesitating for a moment before he speaks.]

“The only reason I’m recording this is because I just have a… really bad feeling about everything going on. If anything… happens… we might need this later, for… proof, or something. I just think… no, I know there’s something that’s not supposed to be happening. It sounds weird, but… it’s… it’s just wrong, it’s all wrong and I don’t know why— I don’t remember, I can’t, I…“

[the man sits down in front of the camera, right hand pressing against the side of his face.]

[whispered] “…not feeling great today either…”

Y? What’s doing on with the disappearances?

“…the disappearances. Yeah. What we know is that someone, or a group of people, are holding meetings in the streets. They try and make people angrier about the Tops. Sometimes people follow them, and don’t come back. We’ve… only seen them once, they’re hard to track. It started… a couple weeks ago? A few days after the Friendship Cup. That’s about all we know. It happened again yesterday.”

[spoken quietly] “No, a camera would… that would be a security risk.”

[a clicking noise, like something being set down.]

“Ugh…”

“…Hawk and Eagle, I guess. They’re siblings. Helped me out a while back. I don’t know where I’d be without them. You’re probably going to hear from—“ (🧰)

“Hate to interrupt, I don’t really like those codenames, can I change mine?” (💻)

“I mean, they make sense.” (🧰)

“Yeah, but without the first part they sound kinda… can they hear me?” (💻)

“You’re really close, so yeah, probably.” (🧰)

[muffled: “you’re seriously going to use…?”]

“They can’t track me with that.” (💻)

“…anyway, you’re probably going to hear from him more than his sister. …as for what we do, we’ve been looking into these disappearances. People in the Commons have just been vanishing, and we have a feeling that it’s connected to whoever’s trying to raise conflict with the Tops.” (🧰)

[muffled: “Your transmitter’s finally working?”]

“Yeah, I got it up a few minutes ago. What did… oh. Hm.”

“It’s fine, I don’t mind. It’s a normal question. We’re a group of three from the Commons. I specifically… well… until I know I can trust you, just call me Y.”

[muffled: “The letter?”]

“Yeah. I’m going to be handling the messaging for now, but one of the others might take over every now and then.”

[the sound of someone else entering the room can be heard.]

[muffled: “We have a problem. It happened again.”]

“Seriously? I have to deal with this. It was nice to hear that… someone’s on the other side of this. We’ll appreciate any information you can offer, and even if you don’t know much, I can tell you more about the situation. We can figure this out together.”

“…hello? I don’t know if anyone can hear me, but if you’re there, I don’t know how much time we left before things get bad. Aside from us, no one else has noticed it happening. The Commons are getting angry again and things are… getting tense.” [muffled: “yeah, I’ll be out in a second.”] “the “King” is trying to help fix things, but… really, who would listen to that guy? The strange thing is, we know someone is trying to cause an uproar for some reason. We just don’t know who. If I remember, I’ll keep updating this with the results of our search. If… there is someone on the other side, in any of the dimensions, please send something back. Just… if you know anything.”
