“To me, “FEARLESS” is not the absence of fear. It’s not being completely unafraid. To me, FEARLESS is having fears. FEARLESS is having doubts. Lots of them. To me, FEARLESS is living in spite of those things that scare you to death. FEARLESS is falling madly in love again, even though you’ve been hurt before. FEARLESS is walking into your freshmen year of high school at fifteen. FEARLESS is getting back up and fighting for what you want over and over again… even though every time you’ve tried before, you’ve lost. It’s FEARLESS to have faith that someday things will change. FEARLESS is having the courage to say goodbye to someone who only hurts you, even if you can’t breathe without them. I think it’s FEARLESS to fall for your best friend, even though he’s in love with someone else. And when someone apologizes to you enough times for things they’ll never stop doing, I think it’s FEARLESS to stop believing them. It’s FEARLESS to say “you’re NOT sorry”, and walk away. I think loving someone despite what people think is FEARLESS. I think allowing yourself to cry on the bathroom floor is FEARLESS. Letting go is FEARLESS. Then, moving on and being alright…That’s FEARLESS too. But no matter what love throws at you, you have to believe in it. You have to believe in love stories and prince charmings and happily ever after. That’s why I write these songs. Because I think love is FEARLESS.”
Okay. First. Not because my intro’s mainly about love, means that this post is only about love. I’m just a huge fan of Tay, so wth?! x)
: to be afraid of (something or someone)
: to expect or worry about (something bad or unpleasant)
: to be afraid and worried
People have fears.. Let’s face it. Nobody’s exempted. Some may just seem to profess and show other people that they’re not afraid of something, but the truth is, they’re just afraid to admit that they too, have weakness, and yep, technically, that’s their fear. So… ughh. okay, what’s next?
There are people who are afraid of making new friends, because they’re afraid of rejection, or because they’re afraid that they will screw up.
There are some who, on the other hand, tend to have a fear of abandonment. They couldn’t afford to be left alone. But hey, who could, right? Others are afraid of what the other people think about them, or if they’ll fit in with people who are totally different from them. Which brings them to the point where they have to lie about their personality, lifestyle, identity, and create stories just for them to be accepted within the circle… and then they mess up. Isn’t that being desperate? yea, times like that do happen.
But there are some who choose to just be a shadow, or ghost-like, ugh.. invisible!! yep, that’s it. It’s because they’re afraid to try.. It’s because they’re losing self-confidence. they’re losing faith in their selves.
Because of these fears, they just let people pass by in their life.
But you know what, oh wait… we’ll get to that later, just read on. :P
The family, as they say, is the basic unit of society. BUT, it is the most important.
In a family, trust is really important. (and of course, LOVE) And if you break the trust, you’re doomed. It’s over. The End. Nah, kidding, There’s still a chance, yes, but it takes a pretty long time… and effort! TRUST me. it’ll take you pretty long for you to repair the trust that you've broken.
Establishing a trust is one thing, but maintaining it is another thing. It is the real deal. Especially because in a family relationship, there should be mutual trust.
People are afraid that one day, their family would just screw up, break up, or down, and just dissolve and crash like an airplane who called for “mayday” and failed to be rescued.
People are afraid that if their family will be ruined, it would be the end of them, I mean, dude, it’s FAMILY. you could replace your friends, boyfriend/girlfriend, but you couldn’t replace your family. They’re God’s blessing.
Many people have the fear of falling in love. They’re afraid of rejection and/or humiliation. They’re afraid of the unknown. They have a fear of taking chances.
There are people who couldn’t move on to the future because they’re still clinging on to their past. Why you ask? Because they’re afraid to let go, set themselves free from their past and face a new chapter of their life.
People are afraid to get hurt. But, what the hell, that’s inevitable. That’s one truth we can’t change in life - that you couldn’t escape pain. It’s everywhere. There would come a point in your life where you’ll feel it. You’ll get hurt, yes, but it will pass, and after that, you’ll be a better person, because you learned from your past.
Honestly speaking, I too, have fears. I am afraid to trust again… to believe in love again. I am afraid of being left alone (tho I love to be left alone sometimes.) I am afraid to wake up one day and find out that the people I love in life left me. I am afraid that I’ll fail my family and not meet their expectations. I am afraid that my friends may not be true to me. I’m afraid of others’ judgement. (sometimes)
I too, have the fear of the unknown. I’m afraid to take chances, and try again.
BUT, despite of all my fears, I am happy.
Because I don’t let my fears steal away my happiness.
Going back to what Taylor Swift had said, being fearless is having fears and doubts. Lots of ‘em. But, you jump anyway.
It’s about taking chances in life. I’m not afraid to take a step forward in life and face every adversities. I was before, yea, but not anymore.
If I focus on my fears, where the hell would I be in the future?
I’ll be stuck in my own delusion. I’ll be worthless. My life will suck more than it does today. (lol to that)
I wouldn’t throw my happiness just because I’m afraid. Yes, I may not be able to not be afraid to trust again, (DUDE, I GOT HURT BEFORE. SAME THING HAPPENED TO ME TWICE, SIMULTANEOUSLY. WHO WOULDN’T BE AFRAID TO TRUST AGAIN AFTER THAT?), but I know that one day in the future, slowly, but surely, I’ll be able to trust again… to believe in love again. and when I do, when I let myself love again, I’ll fight for it. You should fight for what you want in life, or in love, but you should also know when to stop.
We can’t fight the inevitable. We’re just humans. We all make mistakes. We all get hurt. When it rains, it pours, yes, true enough, but, it is also said that there’s always a rainbow after the rain. The rainbow is always worth the endurance, patience, and effort.
"Doesn’t being scared let you know you’re on to something important?”
"If you’re not scared, you’re not taking a chance, and if you’re not taking a chance, then what the hell are you doing?"
You see, life is a full of surprises. Others are good, some are not. But, we just have to be prepared for them. Life is like a ticking time bomb. It can explode and end anytime, so why stress yourself and waste your time and effort focusing on your fears?
Afraid of rejection? Of being left alone? So? Face your fears. They won’t do you any good. Don’t try to fit in, you’re not that kind of person. If the people you wanna befriend don’t want you in their life, then let them be. It just means that God will give you the best set of friends.
Afraid of the downfalls and torrents that may come in your family? Shake your fears off. You’ll be great. You’ll overcome all problems. You’re blessed. Worry not, God is with you.
Afraid of trusting? loving? take chances, bruhhh. You can’t get to anywhere if you won’t start to move ahead. You. Have. To. Make. A. Step. Forward.
Take a leap of faith, perhaps.
If you get hurt, then stand up.
If you fail. Dude, don’t give up.
As the saying goes, pain demands to be felt.
Don’t be afraid to get hurt or to the idea that you may hurt other people. again, it’s ineluctable.
Don’t let your fears sabotage your future, your happiness, your life… you. It’s our choice to get hurt anyway. It’s our choice to be happy, too. It all falls down to us… our choices greatly affects our life. ;)
Try to accept all your fears and set yourself free. Don’t be afraid to commit mistakes, don’t be too hard on yourself. You deserve to be happy. Everyone does.
YOU CAN DO IT. YOU’RE BETTER THAN THAT.
