Day 27
I would like to thank my sister.
She has always been there to offer me support when I needed it the most. She helped me when it came to my sexuality. She helped me cope with my mental issues. She helped me survive family dilemmas. She has helped me with so many things, and I cannot thank her enough.
So.
Another 751 unmarked graves were found at a Saskatchewan residential school.
Seven hundred fifty one.
This school, The Marieval Indian Residential School, operated from 1899 to 1997.
It was one of the last residential schools to close in Canada. One of more than 130.
In case you didn’t know, residential schools were created to “cleanse” the people of Canada. These schools operated from 1831, when the Mohawk Institute Residential School opened, to 1996, when residential schools were finally outlawed.
That is 166 years of cultural genocide.
An estimated 150 000 children attended these schools, and an estimated 6 000 children died at these schools (current records of death are incomplete)
These children were beaten, sexually abused, even experimented on. They were treated like prisoners, like they were sub-human.
A child’s likelihood of dying in a residential school was one in twenty-five. In comparison, a Canadian World War 2 soldier’s odds of dying were one in twenty-six.
I am not Indigenous. I cannot pretend to know how painful this may be. But what I can do is speak out. This inhumane treatment of citizens of Canada must be condemned.
The government of Canada, and The Catholic Church, must. make. reparations.

My friends would be on my Pride float, no matter their identities! My friends might also bring their other friends on the float, so long as they are supportive or they are part of the community.
Day 23
I didn’t know exactly what to say for today’s prompt, so here are a few resources you can use to learn about intersectionality in the LGBTQIA+ community!
Remember, no matter your background, your identity matters! Do not let anyone tell you otherwise! Out of everyone in the world, only you can decide who you are. If others cannot accept that, that’s their fault, not yours.
I see and recognize both your character and the struggles you will face throughout life, as well as the hardships you have already endured. You are a valid individual despite these struggles. I love you!

Day 22
I know a “glow up” typically refers to physical looks, but I’m not too comfortable with sharing my face with the world.
So!
I shall explain my own version of a glow up involving my mind and personality.
School Glow Up:
When I was a baby, I was slower when it came to learning how to speak, walk, and a few other things.
As a young child, it took me a while to learn the rainbow and memorize the alphabet. I couldn’t spell simple things despite everyone else in my grade having that ability. My kindergarten teacher had no faith in my future and complained to my parents about my intelligence (they were pissed at her for this). I ended up repeating kindergarten for another year before continuing on.
Despite my late start, I ended up developing a college-level skill for reading and an eleventh grade-level skill for math by fourth grade. I now take all advanced classes.
Personality Glow Up:
When I was little, I was a compulsive liar as well as a bossy little nut. I always acted as if I was the center of attention and got annoyed if I didn’t get my way. I was a complete brat.
Around fourth or fifth grade, I started noticing these personality traits and came to the realization that these were bad and could negatively impact people in the future, if they hadn’t already. So, I started monitoring my mentality and would scold myself every time I lied or behaved narcissistically. I would also closely watch my thoughts and would correct myself every time I thought badly about someone or I had a narrow-minded thought. After a while, I managed to stop lying and became non-judgmental towards others.
Now, every time I think about lying, I feel guilty and tell the truth, which has caused me more good than harm. I also rarely have to correct my thinking when concerning others and often find myself scolding those around me when they say something offensive about others.
I would like to say something that kinda relates to this post but also doesn’t. Your grades do not determine your intelligence. It’s okay if you were a late bloomer. It’s okay if school is not your strong suit. It’s okay. There is nothing wrong with you. Your mind is beautiful and uniquely yours, do not let anyone tell you otherwise.
If you are good at school-related things, that’s great too! You are not bad for scoring higher than others on tests and you do not have to feel bad. If your friends get mad at you for it, that’s their issue, not yours.
So long as you do not put others down for their abilities in school, or their abilities in anything, you do not need to feel bad. Remember that intelligence comes in many different forms, some of which are more difficult to show than others for certain people. Everyone is smart in some way, you just have to look.
Day 21
I don’t have much knowledge as far as drag is concerned. However, I do know of Harris Glenn Milstead, also known by his stage name, Divine. Divine was the inspiration for Ursula’s appearance. Ursula is an animated Disney villain that appears in The Little Mermaid.
