I uhh redrew Zuko as the girl laying by the pool meme, someone help me find a funny caption
hakoda borrowed it and forgot to give it back <3
aang is literally the coolest person ever. he has a flying bison, know how to make tricks with all elements, met dragons more than once, throwed a secret dance party when he was supposed to be dead, looked to firelord zuko dead in the face and called him sifu hotman, he just knows a lot of cultural stuff from every nation and doesn’t care about anything that people say about him and he tells the coolest stories ever. he is just neat. wish i was half as cool as avatar aang.
never getting over the fact that zuko would dress up as his favorite character from his favorite opera to go and rob ppl with swords. cannot imagine a gayer activity
Really do not get the arguments about who the strongest avatar is. Like, the answer is clearly Szeto. Dude canonically worked as court bureaucrat, meaning he not only mastered the four elements but on top of that also administrative law. Administrative law. This is a man to fear.
Wait I just realised this makes a scene like this possible: Zuko: I really want to pass this law but that one nobleman on the council keeps blocking me and I know no way around him Aang: *Enters avatar state* Aang: So actually there are 3 ways on how to make this work legally
Trans Zuko is so funny to me. I’m not saying this to try and make fun of people who headcanon him as trans - trans headcanons are great and I support them. It’s just wild because it implies Ozai was out here like:
[Image description: a white woman with blonde hair is saying:
‘I can excuse burning a kid’s face, but I draw the line at misgendering’.
The words ‘burning a kid’s face’ and ‘misgendering’ have been edited in.
End description]
Possible explanations I just pulled out of my arse:
Being trans is very normalised in the Fire Nation and misgendering is considered dishonourable and makes you Look Really Bad.
Zuko’s transition was convenient because Ozai wanted a male heir.
Zuko went to the Mother of Faces or whatever the spirit was called to get a new (male) face and body and part of the magic was that his family would only remember the new him.
Ursa allowed Zuko to transition when he was very young and Ozai just straight up forgot that he used to be a ‘girl’ because he pays no attention to his family.
They pulled the old switcheroo
[Image description: tags from Tumblr user danvssomethingorother which read:
‘I love the idea that ozai just doesn’t pay that much attention. ok but both his kids are trans now and he doesn’t even know’
End description]
He knew he had a son and a daughter, but he couldn’t remember which came first
Yun in the teahouse: Hey look at this fun trick I can do :)
*fucking bends a pebble through Jianzhu*
That's all folks, bye!
Yun doesn’t need a redemption arc, let him kill the fuckers that used, abused, and abandoned him. Let him take out rich assholes. Let him put fear into the Earth Kingdom populace who’d rather watch an orphan or stranger starve to death instead on some petty shit instead of being decent people.
Y’all, I’m rereading the Kyoshi novels and I’m now convinced that Yun was Kuruk’s illegitimate child.
Kuruk was pretty well known for his carousing and while I’m sure the Avatar-verse has some form of contraceptives…well, accidents happen, y’know?
Kelsang claims that the Pai Sho strategies Yun was using when he and Jianzhu discovered Yun in Makapu were ones Kuruk kept secret from everyone except his friends.
But! Kelsang also claims that before Kuruk’s untimely demise (roughly twenty years before the book starts) that Kuruk and his friends, while close, had begun to drift apart. He also claims Kuruk was “being Kuruk” i.e. traveling the world, breaking hearts and taking names, ect.
So theoretically, he could have shared his Pai Sho tricks/traps with someone outside of his Team Avatar. Someone of child-bearing capabilities that he’d cultivated a friends-with-benefits type of relationship that he didn’t tell his Team Avatar buddies about like a courtesan/oiran?
So yeah, Yun is Kuruk’s illegitimate son and the person who birthed him taught him Kuruk’s Pai Sho strategies and that’s why he knew them. Also why he smirks just like Kuruk (Rise of Kyoshi, pg. 28).
when I first heard Bryke was leaving the production for the ATLA live action, I was disappointed. There were rumors going on about how Netflix wanted to make it more "mature", and without the presence of the original creators, it seemed more likely to happen.
But now, casting has been officially announced. I hoped Aang would be played by someone Tibetan or East Asian, but a Filipino actor got the role and being Filipino myself, that makes me happy. The amazing Kiawentiio Tarbell was cast for Katara, I loved her acting in AWAE! I'm not sure about the casting for Sokka, but judging from his Instagram post announcement, he's got the character. They got someone Chinese-Indonesian for Zuko!
And not only that, they have TWO Asian directors confirmed to be working on the project.
What I'm saying is, I know we're all nervous and unsure of another adaptation because of that unspeakable 2010 one, but maybe we should give it a chance. The leads are all poc and they deserve recognition just as we deserve to see representation.
Bryke are two white people who created the world of Avatar inspired by Asian and Inuit cultures. This Netflix show has actual Asian people behind the scenes.
Give it a chance, guys. We can all criticize it after we've seen it.
Not the celebrity news we ever expected to read, but the celebrity news we deserve to read.
While speaking to Slate for an oral history of the cabbage merchant, Sie playfully said, "Of course, now I’m more at the age of what the cabbage merchant was then. I will cultivate that little beard if they need me to. And because my face is quite expressive, I’m perfect for a live-action version of an animated show. I’m ready."
Please let this guy play the cabbage man
it’s what he deserves

Japanese legend: you have the face of who you loved most in a past life
THE NEXT AVATAR ABOUT TO LOOK FINE AFFFFFF
Oh, so YOU guys can just see a face and be like “I like that face, I’m gonna make it my face” and everyone’s just COOL with that. But when I, Koh the Face Stealer,
The atla live action cast lost is pretty good!!
Also everyone trying to nitpick appearance details sucks
Also everyone trying to bring up shipping drama into how old or young actors look sucks.
Like literally, let’s give these kids a chance? They’re young actors of color and the show could really help their careers?? Maybe it will be good and if it’s not then we still have the original
been thinking about bi zuko a lot lately
duckies!
whats a good dnd class for a character who is down to murder, but also kinda motherly
o shit is that a dnd class now fuck yes
